Some good news to brighten your day. As mentioned my wife got notice of redundancy just before our wedding. Well her workplace (a small boarding school which is closing down) held what she called a 'cattle market' where other schools could come and recruit staff, and she's been offered a job! So hopefully that will work out ok and I can relax a bit from 'hyper frugal' mode...:rotfl:'Never keep up with Joneses. Drag them down to your level. It's cheaper.' Quentin Crisp0

Morning gang....whoops that's afternoon now innit?
DAY OFF :j
1) Cleaned out the chookies, then washed my hair (vital after the chicken cleaning process)
2) Did washing, and discovered something has happened to the trees that hold the line up...I can't reach any more. OH thinks one of them must have moved in the wind!
3)Trialled a recipe for the cake stall - OMG you GF peeps have to try this:- http://www.glutenfreecookingschool.com/archives/gluten-free-southern-cornbread/
It's awesome...I can't stop eating itWill make some for the stall with things in....chilli, onion, sun dried tomatoes maybe some corn too? think it would be amazing with bacon, but I'm trying to keep my stuff veggie to increase sale options. I really wanted something savoury and GF too...nom nom
4)Placed a food order online with The Asian Cookshop...Mr T have very inconsiderately stopped selling the polenta I use for my GF cakes...grrrr. I had to drive to the 'big' branch for it anyway...so Bu&&er them! It cost me a tenner to drive there and back so online has given me the option for more exciting stuff to play with. Mr T. also stopped selling the Japanese stuff for sushi...these people have some of it, not all, but thanks to approved foods I have enough sushi rice and nori sheets to last me the summer (and possibly till Xmas LOL)
DS cracked me up last night, after a few days hard graft I decided to have a nice hot bath, our walls are paper thin and he was playing his dreadful chav scum rap quite loudly...so I asked if he could play me something a bit more mellow to relax in the bath too - but NOT Bob Marley....he laughed and put something else on...recognised the first riff and said "Is that Jimi Hendrix?" - he said he thought I might appreciate some of his vintage rock collection  it wasn't quite the chill out lounge I was hoping for and Jimi gave way to Musical youth and then Anthea and Donna  He does 'try' in his way to be helpful these days, once upon a time he'd have had a FML moment if I asked him to turn it off. Actually maybe that's the key I didn't ask him to turn it off...I asked him to change it? We still haven't managed to agree on anything to listen to in the car though....
Anyway....for the rest of my day 'off' I need to hoover the stairs, do some more washing, and make a shopping list. Find something for make for dinner that involves a pot of reduced squid and some prawns (stir fry I'm thinking - with rice) and after all danger of the post arriving, I need to take the dogs out. Apparently I am on parcel duty for OH.
Laters... (as DS says...tee hee)

I feel rough and have been sleeping a lot, Bess twigged that the electric blanket was on (I was feeling very cold) and carefully manouvered herself so I was left clinging to the side.
I have been prescribed chocolate cake and ice cream by the DR as well as horse size pill anti- biotics for 3 weeks...I thought it was very good of him. Honest.

Byatt pet - would you care to share yer doctors name and addy in here?:A
....and possibly tell him he'll need a bigger waiting room very soon.0 -
Does anybody want to rehome an RV? Bearing in mind that you'll be saving him from imminent awful death if you take him QUICK.
I have found out that
a) its all my fault I'm ill. I must've "caught germs"..
b) its very inconsiderate of me to cough in the same room as the RV and why don't I just go to bed and stay there?? ( NO cos I did that once and it took 3 days for the sod to bring me tea)
c) seemingly I'd be at fault if I hauled him out to the chemist for cough mix OR if I stayed here and put up with the cough to save his diesel.
It's kind of hard to get it right, in here.hence my kind offer of a free RV to anybody who is mad. Erm I mean who wants one.

Not for me thanks Mard. I've already got something similar.
Friend 'phoned me yesterday, one I haven't spoken to for some time. The battery cut out on the phone so she rang back. It did it again (or maybe hers) and she rang back again. I could hear OH tutting and muttering.
Now: (a) It was HER call, not mine, and (b) even if it WAS my call, our calls are free to local numbers.
What was he tutting about? "Don't know what you find to talk about....my calls last only a few minutes".
So? I can't help it if he hasn't got any friends....I can understand it, but not help.Normal people worry me.0 -
Sorry Mard, no taker here. If you'd not gone into so much detail you could have hoodwinked one of us to take him out of pure pity. I'm afraid in my house there would be no imminent awful death: it would have been in the past tense some time ago. You're gonna have to tell us what his redeeming features are again cos I'm at a loss as to why you put up with him. Got a spare cattle-prod handy? Perhaps some not-so-idle threats might do the trick. You know, so he can be persuaded to "waste" the diesel on you and your precious health.0
