Sounds like CBA is the new black :rotfl: I have lists next to the bed which are not getting ticked off at all
I also have a pile of stuff to post which is naughty of me cos its all promised. In my defence.. I have no defence.
the bus drivers here are very 'pro' disabled and 'anti' buggies but its still hell getting about with a wheelchair person on public transport and finding toilets is a full time occupation leading to miles of walking in the opposite direction to where you want to go
We have custard and no cake, what a terrible situation to be in, worse than Mardatha's lack of cake because the tin of custard is on the work surface taunting me. Oh dear I think I am finally cracking up :rotfl:Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -
Thanks Mary, I did Google, but it's very expensive, just thought it might have been cheaper here. I'll stick to vaseline, pardon the pun!
Vj, for a second, I believed you. :rotfl:

She didn't invent it. http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/conniption
Lovely word, if a little eccentric0 -

My husband travels by car and gets paid so much per mile, but different hospitals have different rates, one he goes to pays more per mile and any parking fee but another hospital pays less per mile and doesn't pay parking.
But I know they don't pay for taxis, just travelling in a car or bus/train. The mileage amount hasn't changed in the 4 years OH has been claiming despite the cost of petrol going up but it does help especially as he goes 3 times a week for dialysis.
There's details here saying who qualifies and how to claim:

Edit: forgot to say, if someone has to travel with you for medical reasons you can also claim their travel costs too.Dum Spiro Spero0 -
Our American cousins are very fond of having conniptions. I expect we donated it to them out of pure charity.
GQ, nothing sinister to report re SQL gubbins, alas. I think it's a combo of my antique comp's OS and the browser. Whatever it was, it's probably saved me a mint.
For goodness sake people! Mardatha has no cake. This is a dire emergency. Lets hope there are some sherbet lemons around or the RV will get it in the neck.
Mard: those soaps are still smelling sublime. Please send more. OKthx0 -
Another one here who is avoiding fabric websites, I already have SABLE,
Stash Beyond Life Expectancy, this includes fabric, yarn, patterns, haberdashery!

I am on the hunt for flannelette bedding today. We always had flannelette sheets in the winter when I was a child. These days I am far too hot at night to need them, but GDD2 does. She has been waking up at 3am and climbing into DD's bed. We tried some flannelette cot sheets in her bed where she lies and she slept straight through!:j So I am looking for flannelette duvet covers and sheets. I think its an internet hunt as the supermarkets here just seem to have cotton.
Also dashing out to our little garden centre for some chicken pellets. I have not had time/energy/ability to chuck compost on to garden yet so have decided to scatter pellets everywhere and let the rain melt them into the garden! Bone idle I know but I have done it before and it works. Besides have to make some use of the monsoon predicted for today
Roast beef followed by Christmas pudding and custard for lunch. Found the pudding in the back of the cupboard, it looked lonely so it's heading for the pot! This does mean post lunch I will look like a beached whale but thats not a new thing for me so am not 'bovvered'.:rotfl:Give us the strength to encounter that which is to come, that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temparate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another.”0 -
Thanks for the link greenbee. I did have a quick look for it last night just before I shut down. I will show her it today.
Lidl often have flannelet sheets for kids but nearer winter I think. A blanket under the sheets is also helpful for keeping in the warmth.0 -
I first heard Dara O'Brian use it and on further investigation decided it described my DD's adult tantrums to a tee :eek:I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0
