Evening all -
Kate - it sounds as though your DD has done the right thing, hope your GP can help
Mrs Chip - Well done, moving is incredibly hard and stressful but you have survived with your humour intact, no mean feat :)O
Byatt - hugs - dentists scare me silly
Mardatha - I hope you get your good weather soon, it really does lift the spirits
Stiltwalker - sounds as though you have had a much needed pat on the back
And hugs for all.
Been a lovely day here (sorry Mar) and DS has had an lovely day. Having partied on Saturday we had a family dinner this evening and although he disappeared regularly to his room for some quiet I think he enjoyed it.
Still no voice and its really irritating now, simple things like shopping are hell the music they play is so loud I cannot make myself understood. Makes me cross.
DS leg is still bleeding slightly, and I had to add more butterflies yesterday when he pulled them off - just to see if its gone yet mum!!
Have had a few minor disasters today, first kettle died - not good considering it was brand new and very expensive when we moved in here in May. Then deep fat fryer died too - not good when you cooking chips for nine!!
DD6 has doctors appointment tomorrow for catch up immunisations, both her and DS are behind having had them stalled when she entered hospital (6months old) for several months. Then when DD17 was ill (glandular fever) the GP stalled all immunisations again so they are now trying to catch up. Thankfully OH is off work so can take her, whilst I can be the nice mummy who hands over chocolate!!0 -
Thanks for the picnic suggestion but only got back in for the kids getting back from school.
Hope everyone is well and Kidcat take a pad and pen with you. or some cards with some of the words you use most, in my case mostly swear words.....how terrible I know.Warning another animal story
As my back is boogered the doc has said to walk a much as possible and to quit the gym. I would feel a little stoopid walking aimlessly and have been thinking about getting a dog. Yesterday we went to look at a rescue and DH fell in love with a Rotty but hardly suitable for my ailments :rotfl:
Day two and a different pound. This pound is a sort of converted horse stable. They rescue dogs from death row. Had a look at a few and for some reason when you tell them you have a bad back they try and get you to have a yorkie :rotfl::rotfl:
Then they brought the most scruffy, dirty, bizarre looking dog I have ever seen. He is a bichon cross westie who was 1 HOUR FROM DEATH ROW  Gave him a five minute walk and he was a delight, no pulling and a very gentle nature. Some one has tried to cut his fur and it looks like a two year old has done it :rotfl::rotfl:
Anyways, he gets snipped on thursday and we collect him on Friday :j:j DH didn't want a dog and now he is more exited than meeven though it's not the rotty of his dreams. The only problem is he will have to whiff a while as he will be a little to tender to take to the pooch place for a bath n short back and sides........ mostly matted and all needs to come off. Must do some before and after pics..
pooch will cost £100 but that includes getting him snipped, chipping, wormed and flea treatment and injections. I would rather rehome than support puppy farms and this fella is 4-5 yrs old. Can't wait and hope all goes well.
I know another pet is not very MS however it is the money I save from smoking and cancelling the gym which should cover and a reason to go out and about rather than spend any dosh
Other antics in PICs zoo today was we introduced the cats to the chickens and all are ok phewwwwwwwww I don't trust them to be alone though.
I know we have a lot of pets but if I have to go without any other luxuries they are worth it to me.
That is the line, no more pets
Roll on Friday :j:j
PIC x0 -
PIC - dont forget to post some pics!! Pets bring such joy into our lives, I wouldnt be without them, it saddens me when the kids friends come and are terrified as they have never had a pet - one of DD6 friends cried when she saw the cat!0

Animals make such a difference in our lives, am getting exited for you! :j
Over the years we have had two cats, two hamsters, two rabbits, fish, a cockateal, many stick insects and three dogs! Added to that kittens, baby bunnies and puppies. I will never forget the day that the mirror carp both decded to spent the day jumping out of the pond over and over again. just as well I was in, we would have had kippers on the lawn!Give us the strength to encounter that which is to come, that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temparate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another.”0 -

They says they was sad in the 'doption shed and they was rescued by mum, and mum says she will always love us forever, and that she even still loves us when we eat badger !!!!, or frow up on the sofa like mattie did yesterday!

I'd love to live somewhere quiet with a sea view, but am mindful that such places are usually a swine for public transport, & if my sight gets worse then I won't be able to see the view anyway :rotfl: (oh, & of course such places tend to be far too expensive for me to afford, but why let reality get in the way of a good daydream?).
Thanks gardenia. We are very lucky to live here. We're not actually remote at all in that we are in a town but just 100 miles from a city with very little in between except hills and lochs iyswim. I try to never take it for granted and count my blessings every day.
I'm still reading but have so little time atm between work, kids, garden and school committments.Lovely OH has worked out a way to build his new shed so it doesn't encroach on my veggie patch which is great as I thought I was going to have to get rid of the fruit cage. Have been spreading well rotted chicken manure on the raised beds today in readyness for some planting soon I hope.
Nice to see you back though gardenia as well as gailey. x
Well done on rescuing the pup PIC. :T
Sorry to hear DD is struggling Katie.
Hope Ds's leg heals soon Kidcat.
Hope you settle in quickly Mrs Chip.
I'm sure there was more but I'm nodding off and about to hit the hay with my book.
Take care all. x0 -
kidcat - I'm now on week 4 of no voice. I've been told if I want it to come back I have to rest it completely for two weeks. The couple of days of trying to speak have really set me back. So I suggest you try to avoid all human contact and get yourself some flashcards for the occasions that the outside world intrudes. At least, that's the only way I can think of to not speak ...0

Greenbee & Kitcat:- Can't imagine how you are managing with no voice, not just out in the world but trying to cope with normal family life. What do you do when the phone rings? Do the callers think they have rung a strange stalker type person!
Kateiowl:- I am sorry your DD is having such a tough time. Being home and being away from all the other people who are 'hyper' about their own last minute work will be a big help. If she can do the E-mail thing then that will take off a little bit of pressure as well. I know you yourself have a lot on as well at the moment but its your 'mam's job' to 'fix' thing and smooth them out..... cos mam's are superwomen! Also having her in front of you instead of at the end of a phone will give you a bit of piece of mind.
Byatt:- My teeth are no longer as white as they were too. I blame the tea drinking! Like Winchelsea I like loose tea and knowing the stains it leaves in my sink, goodness knows what it is doing to my teeth!
SDG:- Nice one on the BP! Good luck on the weight loss.
Stiltwalker:- Sometimes it's just nice to hear someone say you are doing a good job. Good for you! :T
Shelley:- I read your post just before going to pick up my Twins4 from school yesterday. I took a good look at the school and the Mam's and I really filled up. School security is at the level it is because of Dunblane but you can see how impossible it is to totally make schools secure.
PIC:- I can't think of a better use for your saved ciggie money! I have been visualising hens, cats and dogs charging around your garden not taking a blind bit of notice of the humans 'in charge!' :rotfl:Give us the strength to encounter that which is to come, that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temparate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another.”0
