Nice one Byatt, it's great to get a bargain, and that sounds like a good one. :D
Am already in the dressing gown! I spent two hours helping DD1 sort out her storage problems this morning. (nesting already!) Both arms feel like they have been steamrollered! You know what it's like, you just keep going, knowing that when you do stop nothing will work/move/bend! Good thing I went to the loo before I sat down!:rotfl:

PAH that is good news and must be such a relief.

Ginnyknit I have some old knitting magazines if you'd like them. There are about 5 or 6. PM me if you want them and I could cycle over one day as I won't have much work after next week.

I wish you'd all stop talking about food .... :rotfl:I'm going to be having the midnight nibbles at this rate .....

Greyqueen I know it's the full moon at the moment, but I have just done all the washing up (that my young person should have done ) so will have space to clean my propagators out tomorrow and sow some tomato and pepper seeds. Do you think sowing them at a full moon will be disastrous? I don't think I can wait another fortnight until the moon is waxing again to start them off! I must be getting old as time is flying by! (For those of you who are wondering what on earth I am on about, there is a school of thought that you should sow or plant fruit-bearing plants when the moon is waxing, and do your pruning/ sow or plant root veg when the moon is waning. Also you're not supposed to sow or plant on a full moon or a new moon.)
:) Hi smileyt, I don't personally plant by the phases of the moon unless it happens co-incidentally. I plant when the ground is ready/ it seems warm enough/ I have sufficient energy for the task/ I can be bothered.;)

Well chuffed; my first great clothes charity shop find! I am now the proud owner of an Arctic Sto£m waterproof jackets in a lovely shade of teal and virtually brand new! In my size! :D All for £6.

I've been looking for a lightweight coat/jacket for some time and just popped in to the shop as I was passing; always forget it's there. Also got a book on cats (more for my collection) and a Lee Childs book.

    xx
:j Most excellant bargaineering, give that woman an OS medal. And teal is a lovely colour; you're deservedly chuffed.

I'm falling-on-my-face tired today due to a hard week in the salt mine and have a busy day tomorrow. Planning to allotmenteer as much as possible and then spend the evening around a friend's place. Must deffo have a lie in tomorrow or I'll be fit for my bed by 7 pm and that would never do.

Gonna move some manure and have realised that I will have to leave a bit un-manured for the onions as they shouldn't be grown on freshly-manured ground, and the area I am reserving manure-free for the root crops had onions on it last year so better not have them again or I'll get pesties. If you've ever had maggots in your alliums, you won't want to go there again, eww!

All righty, too tired to linger longer so off for a roam in the gloam before bedtime. Actually, have to pick the chicken carcase I've slowcooked before beddy-byes but I'm not making stock tonight, that can wait until tomorrow........

Have a good night, everybody. GQ x

Oh dear -I popped to the Garden Centre this afternoon for some seeds that I had forgotten to buy. If I bought 2 packets, I could have 1 FREE. All good so far, so I bought 4 and had 2 FREE. Then I saw the Onion Sets which I also needed and the Shallots, so in my basket they went. Whoops and there were the special seed potatoes that I was waiting for and there were 2 different sorts that I really needed, a bit more weight in my basket.

DH wanted a patch and some pond sealer because we have a leak somewhere. Then I saw a lovely pair of secateurs for half price and I have Arthritis in my hands so they would be great and they had a special holder too that you could fit on your belt.

DH said he wanted to have a look at the new fish but I spied some lovely mini Daffs and mini Iris which would look lovely if I planted them up to go by the front door with the lovely bright Primrose. By now I am thinking about swapping to a trolley.

It might not have been so bad if I hadn't noticed the lovely little fuschia plants and the cheaper price if I bought 8 .....and the varieties were so lovely as were the pot of mini trailing Begonia seedlings just waiting to be transplanted and also the Lobelia which would finish off my hanging baskets perfectly for the summer.......................

    [STRIKE]

    It was only £55
    [/STRIKE]:eek::eek::eek:

Think I might just toddle off to bed soon. Tomorrow is another day:)

PAH thank you for the advice but don't worry we keep the cushion at home in the safe - I scrimped and saved so no one is going to get their hands on our cash :T

Byatt well done on the coat, thats a bargain. CS's all seem a bit bereft of good stuff nowadays :(

I havent even got dressed today as I was comfy and warm. Blitzed the kitchen and fed us all on what was left in the fridge and it was quite yummy. Just fancy a nice curry so may dig out the makings for tomorrow.

Evening all- isnt it quiet here at the moment, maybe everyone is busy.

Have had a mixed day, ventured to hairdressers again today - world record for me as its usually a once a year jobbie, as hairdressers really intimidate me. BUt they were so good last time, I felt able to go again and its only been about ten weeks, part of my taking some time for me. Did a little shopping and got a few nice whoopsies - including bag of onions that I have converted into french onion soup.
Then wandered off to school for my afternoon with DS class, mixed assembly first - where I discover he has had a really bad fall off the top of the climbing frame. Consequently after assembly we came home.
He has a nasty bump and a minor concussion, but means I will need to sit up with him tonight and keep checking he is ok.
Not good as its his party tomorrow and with 12 kids (10 asd) I could really do with some sleep.

Eliza - now thats why I never set foot in the garden centre without DS7 - He moves too quick for me to get too distracted from my list :) For all those with similar problems I can lend him out for a small fee - as in I pay you a small fee to take him :)

I have to go to garden centre tomorrow for compost and manure and I must just keep reminding myself I have the constant garden ordered and I do not need any vegetable, fruit or herbs plants as I either have them or they will be delivered throughout the year and I have no where else to put any flowers in as bought hundreds of bulbs last September but can i get in there and out with just what I want, don't even need any tools - the secateurs sound like the ones I got last year with lovely soft handles and in their own holster with belt loops and came with a brilliant curved folding knife - made by home and county I think, they are great on the hands, although the knife scares me that I am going to cut my fingers off, but it is sharp. If it was just compost I would send hubby as can just show him the one sack I have left but no manure and if they have more than once he will not know what to buy...........will let you know tomorrow if I got out with just what I go in to buy ( never done it yet).

Kidcat I hope son is ok, it is scary when they have a nasty bang and are concussed, sending you both hugs

Well bed is calling - well that is not quite true, as in bed, bed is calling me to lie down and turn off light, that is more truthful lol........night night all.

Byatt going to pm you now..........was filling in my blog

Kidcat I will borrow your son! :D Hope he's ok, did he go to the hospital?

I went into the garden centre on the weekend because of the compost on offer, and spent a further £10 on "stuff".

I dare not just go in for a wander; in the past I've always come away with masses of stuff. Looking forward to car boots when people start selling plants cheaply! The other place I have to stop myself from going to is the recycling place as they often have great garden pots/hangers etc really cheap but I don't need any more. Just find it hard to turn away.

Yes I'm very pleased with my jacket; keep looking at it lovingly. :rotfl:Ginny, it's the first time I've got a clothes item for myself, and is such a bargain and something I wanted.

    Pah, sleep tight. :)

Lovely find with the jacket Byatt. There's nothing like the thrill of a nice new to you charity shop find. I got some Pj's at my op-shop today.

Unfortunately the PJ find didn't offset the pain of the pharmacy expenditure. $77 on meds this week. Out of $100 a week budget for groceries and anything else I spend that made quite a ding. Combined with the alteration in eating costing more I'm a bit miffed. Oh, and one of the tablets I'm on has left me in need of extra fibre IYKWIM. :(

Kidcat, sorry to hear of your sons concussion and hope the bump doesn't stop him enjoying the party.
