PAH I am soooooo happy for you. I read your blog and to be honest you have been playing on my mind worrying about you so I am really really pleased you can relax a little now
Going to fetch the chooks at the weekend :j:j:j:j
PIC x0 -
Very relieved for you PAH :T That's another hurdle you've overcome.
Meme, it'll be a mysterious wait for your DD. Can I place my bet now of twins?
Mardatha, there are other things it might be that could need you to be on a low fat diet, so sticking with it a bit longer certainly wouldn't hurt. Hope your appointment comes quickly.
I going to make a carrot cake for hubby today and maybe some coconut macaroons the easy way (a tin of condensed milk, a cup and a half of dessicated coconut).
For anyone on low-fat/weight loss diet you might like to try my veggie mash of last night, I served it with some grilled chicken breast. I boiled 2 carrots, 1/4 pumpkin and 2 potatoes, then whizzed them with a spoon of no-fat yoghurt and a pinch of salt. Quite tasty and the leftovers freeze well.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Meme - am hoping all goes well for your DD and I am with Softstuff - twins would be nice:)
PAH- am so pleased you managed to get it sorted in a good time.
Ginnyknit- hugs, life is so hard for you at the moment
Katie - the last stretch of any marathon is always the hardest, do hope your DD can get some help to hold on in there.
Been a very busy day today, DD6 had her birthday so pandemonium this morning, Ds13 had appointment in next town that was a trek to find his case worker off ill, little car had MOT and failedworse it failed on the catalytic converter which was only replaced last year. Have decided to pay a bit extra this year to a well known exhaust centre as they will guarantee it for two years so at least next year we will be covered.
Family dinner this evening and am exhausted from all the rushing, no time to rest though as its DS7 party Saturday followed by birthday Tuesday. Planning on spending next wednesday in bed!!!
DD17 had mid term exam results today and they were not good, one U and two Cs. She was expecting minimum Bs if not As. Had to have a very difficult conversation about committing to study or not. She spends all her time when she is "studying" at home with her TV on and her phone in hand logged into facebk or tweeter. Incredibly difficult to explain that in a working environment you arent allowed these things as they are a distraction and that to be successful at studying she will need to remove the distractions during study time.
On a funny note DD opened her presents today and there was a ruckus when she got a magic wand for her Sooty puppet - all four kids were trying to play (including the two teenagers!!)0 -
What about half and half mashed tatties and turnip - is that ok? I quite like that. (might be swede not turnip I never understand the difference lol)0
-
Swedish Turnip is the big purple/orange thing, known as Swede down south and Turnip/Neeps up north. Turnips down south are the small white jobbies that taste of nowt (imho:rotfl:). Swede is very nice mashed with tatties and lots of black pepper, as well as with carrot, or all three mixed!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0

I could just eat some mashed carrots and turnips - ooh do you think I might be pregnant after all?? Nah its the menopause quietly working its way through
To be honest guys I feel a lot luckier than many my friends on here, Im not the one who is ill and thats something compared to those with MS and fibro and ME etc. OH and I rub along together quite well after 32 years and are reasonably comfortable in our home. I have lots of hobbies and oodles of friends who give me wonderous support. I worry about the future but we all do and no one knows what life has in store for any of us.
I count myself lucky getting out of the CS business after all the flippin drudgery and pressure just before the recession hit. So I will keep on pennypinching, curbing my spending and thanking my lucky stars for my kids and DGS. DS just got home from work and his eyes lit up when he saw it was Tater Hash for tea- I have to stop it or he will never move out this time :rotfl: Will buy him a ready meal for tea tomorrow night and put him off meClearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -

Oh we had the mashed carrots and tunip/neeps tonight - we both love them together, had it along with mash and fish.
Thanks everyone for being happy for me, its such a relief now if we can only find hubby a job that has more hours as even on basic rate he would bring in more, ah well, at least he has a job even if it is only 20 hrs a week, so many would love to have that nowadays.
Byatt my blog can be found by clicking on my name and going to my homepage, can't put it here as not allowed links to personal sites. Its only boring day to day stuff, but gives me something to do sitting here and helps me sort out thoughts in my head. So far only photos are of my doggies and my shower head but do intend to fill it with more photos so more interesting.
Hugs and love to all xxxNeed to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch
