But yes, I used to work with someone who put figures or at least names of people in the freezer!
    W
Did it work?? Or did it just make them cold and gave the enemies bigger heating bills :rotfl:

Some one I used to know had a brilliant 'meditation' pinned up in her kitchen...I can't find the exact text but it ran along the lines of...

Imagine you sitting by a crystal clear bubbling stream, in a beautiful glade. The birds are singing, and you can hear the water cascading gently over the rocks, you are feeling very serene and relaxed.

Now visualise the face of the person who is annoying you most hovering over the water, very calmly lean over and imagine using both hands, and very, very softly push the face under the water. Hold it gently there until the bubbles stop.

    THERE....doesn't that feel better :D

SDG, hugs back, I'm sorry I didn't give them earlier. I seem too wrapped up in myself...

VJsmum, I also hope when you visit your dad he is much better. I think it's a combination of things including meds that can cause confusion. Plus I have to admit, that I can get very confused at times, so with everything he has gone through, and being in hospital the days merge and you very quickly become institutionalised, it's perhaps not surprising. The fact he's aware is good.

    Kate, love it! :)

    I LOVE THIS!!!!!

Can we add my manager's name to the freezer list please? Or at least her passive-aggressiveness.

VJsmum (and her dad) (((hug))) If he's on meds that could affect him. My OH says I'm loopy when they give me morphine. I even get a bit strange the first few days when I'm on higher doses of cocodamol.

  • VJs mum - make sure your dad doesn't get dehydrated, this can lead to confusion in the elderly. and you hear (probably from the Daily Mail :() of nurses not having the time to check if patients are drinking enough.
    Normal people worry me.

My gosh, there are a lot of black dogs about! Honestly, are we a representative cross-section of the population, or has there been some sort of weeding out process in us all filtering down to this lovely thread?:D I guess far more people find this time of year challenging that are willing to admit or recognise. The dark months do cause our moods to dip, just look at the problems they have in Scandanavia with depression and suicides.

Anyway, I have trouble motivating myself off the sofa, would be happy to stay here all day under a duvet with lappy and a big bar of choccy! Cannot afford that sort of attitude new we are self-employed.

One thing I do try to do is achieved something every day. I try not to set goals, as I feel bad if I fail, but as long as I have moved forward in some way I am happy. Today I cleared a tiny patch of the garden and planted lots of Crocosmia corms a neighbour gave me, along with some Forget-me-nots that Mrs OG gave me. Small but a step in the right direction.

We have a great thing here called the Marpet Fund. Esentially a local man has set up a charity to raise money to build a hospice. He has been given the used of a large warehouse and which is open on a Friday and Saturday. People take all manner of unwanted stuff up there and you can just go and take what you want. They ask for donations, but I know a lot of people don't. Even so, he has raised over £100,000. Today I found a small table and chair (I think from a school) which will be perfect for my sewing machine to go on in the little bedroom. As ever there are some people who take advantage, you see them leaving with their cars full of stuff, and I know most of it will go onto Fleabay, I suppose it is a sign of the times.

Our cat tips the scales at 5kg if we have his hyperthyriod under control - didn't realise what a monster he was!:rotfl:
Cats always know when a cat-shaped space has been made, don't know how they do it.

Right must stop weebling on, hugs for those that need them, have a lovely evening everyone - hope you have a good visit with your dad VJsmum.

Thanks everyone, so sorry to offload. OH is trying to be understanding, but he's not very good at it. Just says there isn't any point in speculating - which of course is true, just not very helpful.

Went to zumba - bl00dy hate it, but DD wants to do it so I am going for her sake. The Z list celebrity was there again (former X factor contestant) - my brush with fame.

    I can't stop shivering - perhaps I'll get a hot water bottle.

Think that is ROTFL - rolling on the floor laughing!

What is YS - usually used when someone is talking about a whoopsie or good buy - can't for the life of me think what it is - I bet it is blooming obvious!!!!
