Just popped in to say I have just finished reading the stop smoking book and had my last fag ever :D will catch up with posts tomorrow but just needed to tell someone who wouldn't take the mick.

    PIC x

Brilliant, keep up the good work.......:TI smoked for 32 yrs over 20 per day and know exactly what you are going through trying to give up, I had smoking sessions ,patches, tablets, cold turkey, and 3 hypno therapy sessions that did the trick in the end..........Ive been fag free for nearly 6 yrs now, I still like the smell when a fag is lit near me, but only the light up bit, then it soon starts to stink......:eek:......My house is now super clean, curtains, clothes ,everything, keep it up, dont look back girl, think of all that extra cash:D:D..........only trouble is ive got a bit of weight to shift, but thats another story....:eek:....Good luck.....

I am at that stage of a PhD too. I need to first decide if the ONLY reason I'm doing it is to be Dr VJsmum and to wear the funny hat on graduation day. I am supposed to be putting a proposal together.

So impressive and inspiring too. It will widen your horizons and your mind. Good luck.
The thought of studying to me is a lovely one. Sitting in the British Library (or any library) researching a subject in calm silence appeals to me at this moment due to the utter panic I am just starting to calm down from. Very therapeutic. Thanks for putting the thought there!
  • Thanks for all the well wishes :D

Haven't told DH I have stopped yet and he rang me a while ago to remind me while I was at the dentist to pop in the pound shop and pick up some papers and filters...........slight wobble but I'm ok :rotfl:

[STRIKE]Will tell him later [/STRIKE] Will see how long it takes him to notice :rotfl:

I worked out that as I rolled my own it will save me about £500 a year and I know that is a fraction of what other smokers spend :eek:

stop smoking book cost me 25p as I ordered into my local library :A

Off to get tooth pulled now :(

I only like snow if I can stay indoors and admire it from the warm! I guaranteed us no snow this year by being all organised and buying DD a sledge at the beginning of the winter! Just had a ridiculously early lunch as DD has her first hydrotherapy session and don't want her to be too full.

Good luck with the giving up PIC, I gave up when pregnant with the kids (both times) and have managed to stay stopped this time although have been known to have the occasional wobble after a glass or two of pop (or something!) It does get easier though and the extra pennies are very welcome, I can spend them on my new addictions - my birthday pressie die cutter and patchwork and quilting stash!

Had the most wonderful thing today - a real letter!!! from a friend in an envelope and delivered by the postie and everything. Been so long since I got one of those rather than an email I'd totally forgotten how lovely it is to get one so must send her one back, will get the kids to draw her and her husband a picture each to go in the envelope.

Love reading your posts. Only point I picked up as not really frugal - having coffee and toast in Mr S. I am much too mean to do that. :o

I know coffee and toast sainsburys bit frivilous but

walked 15mins dropped eldest off at school left house mad rush so no drink before.
walked toddler and pushed baby in buggy to retail park to save bus money and spent 25mins in park was flipping freezing.

went to retail park specifically get their feet measured.

baby needed a breast feed, toddler hungry and tired and we were all bit cold so spent £2.89 on large cappacuino and 2slices of toast.

I must admit pre kids/mse days cafes my weakness as love a nice cappacuino, cake and read the paper or meet up with freinds which happens so infrequently these days.

    Today

    went to sw lost 1lb.
hubby took toddler to church hall messyplay where she painted and glued until hearts content. she loves it and no mess at home and needs more interaction now but cant satrt preschool until september still need to find new toddler group.

having quick drink bite to eat..

hubbys taking baby/toddler round his mums give me chance to do the housework, hes apicking up parcel from sorting office and eldest from school.

He dident get any reductions in morrisons last night last mon was so good. But he did get few bargains in co-op chicken for £1, fish for £1 so quite pleased.Feel as if hes embracing it more and listening.

soo cold here but no snow, noticed in sainsburys big box of red snow shovels £7.49.

going to do some chicken soup from leftover chicken carcass
do mini quiches and fairy cakes as dident get chance last night.

popped in spar see whats reduced so send hubby in this evening and hope prices knocked down further.

    Hope everyones ok

    Hi everyone!
Hugs for anyone that wants or needs one.....so many of us seem 'down' I usually feel better the 'next day' but haven't yet shrugged off my Monday blues from yesterday. Don't know if it's my age, the weather or just me but I know I am fed up of twittering. I think the period of time following a bereavement can be a very difficult time and I suppose I could put it down to that, but I am in general a 'twittery' person. SO if anyone else feels like me today BIG (((HUGS))).

Feeling a bit peeved as well because DH booked some time off work for the coming October and someone else wants the same week (it's not allowed where he works). So although he had booked his holiday first (first come first served basis) He's now been asked by the other person if he will change his week and I think he feels a bit pressurised (DH is a bit of a softie). The thing is we can't really change it easily and also DH always tries to leave the summer holidays free for people who have children at school. Aaargh just can't win! Always seem to end up like the bad guy.

Hope everyone is feeling better than me. Sorry for the 'down' post. I need to focus on the positive aspects of life and less on the negative and practice worrying less about the past and the future and concentrate more on the present. Have a good day everyone!

Elizabunny - tell him to say sorry, he can't as you've booked and paid for your holiday. If he's done the same its his own fault for booking before it was approved.
