Kidcat is your DS in a specialist provision or mainstream? My boy (DS3) is 13 now but I remember him at 7,8 and 9 as a bit of a blur really it was a challenging time for us as we got to the point when he couldn't really cope in mainstream anymore sadly.
Sending you a huge hug as I know what hard work it can be :D
That said wouldn't we be lost without them and their unique take on the world..:A

Meant to add re the pizzas I add a teaspoon of Schwartz's mint, red pepper and olive salad seasoning to my bases it gives it a lovely flavour.

D&DD he is in a specialist unit within a mainstream school, had major issues before Christmas but his teacher currently off sick so having supply teachers instead.
I love him to bits and he is so endearing, but when he has one of his days he is murder to be with. Planning on spending day just quietly with him tomorrow give him control of remote, have rivet on sofa and just chill together. It's what he needs and if I can get some medicine down him even better.

Kidcat, your story brought back memories of my DD when she was young; I think I have pushed them to the back of my brain in the part that says, do not open! My dd was always active when ill; even with a temp. Calpol had no effect. There was never ever any mopping of brow whilst reading her a story.

Are you getting help with the behaviour at home? I went to family support, and they ended up hauling me in for therapy!! Saying I was too anxious. Moi? anxious??

How are your son's communication skills?

edit just saw your other post; I am sure having the supply teachers is not helping him. The changes are very unsettling.

D&D, I know you are upset about your pooch, but I nearly spit my tea over my computer when reading. It's the kind of thing I would do.

GreyQueen - I have used Plusnet (the cheapest one) for the last 18 months and had no trouble. We can only get them or BT here and not the cheapest rates (out in the sticks) but you should be able to get the super cheap rate being in a city. We have line rental with them too now as BT got far too pricey.

Look forward to many more of your posts once you get off the steam power and onto 'proper' internet ;)

GQ - hope all goes well for your mum today. As for broadband, who do you use for mobile phone? We have O2 BB because its cheap when you have a phone with them. My dad has Orange bb as his mobile is with them. Otherwise I am sure there is a comparison tool somewhere. Will have a looksie.

    Grey Queen

Crossing my fingers for your mum.

Lots of door closing so think youngest has finally gone off to sixth form. She makes more farewell tours than Frank Sinatra (keeps dashing back in the front door because she has forgotten something and then nearly mows me over in the rush. She has an exam today so don't want to fluster her.

Yesterdays stew turned out really well and even dd who dislikes potatoes enjoyed it when placed in posh individual serving dish (poundland) with thin topping of buttery mash and a little grated cheese on top and browned in oven. DH had his more like a hotpot with sliced potatoes on top and woofed two lots. Promised to make yorkie at lunchtime today and fill it with a la leftover stew and his eyes lit up.

Not sure whether to make huge lasagne or HM burgers for tonight so will see how I feel. House is nice and quiet so going to make boiled egg and toast for me and DH. My cornish blue dishes arrived yesterday afternoon but had only two dinner plates instead of four  so have e mailed the seller.

DH was chuffed with himself for planting a quince yesterday (present for his birthday on saturday) and then found our neighbour had just planted four fruit trees.Wonder what Freud would have made of fruit tree envy? ;) He is still delighted that our home grown coriander has been so good in carrot soup and kept telling DDs "That was still growing an hour ago!"

Hug to all that could use one and see you later

  • GreyQueen another plusnet user here - been with them for a few years as we originally got broadband through the longreach trials (you can almost see the exchange from here, but due to the way the wires have been laid there's miles between us and the exchange). Couple of big advantages with plusnet is that their support is in the UK and they have a freephone number to call support.

    Hope your mum is ok

AOL were a nightmare, all those long phone calls to Calcutta or wherever. I lostit and went to Plusnet, in Yorkshire. They've been TERRIFIC. Absolutely spot on, you can phone them or talk online if you have a prob. I liked them so much I moved the phone to them as well. Broadband basic is £6.49 a month but I got a special offer of half price for 9 months so currently pay £3.35. Go to their site and have a wee nosey GQ.
