Feeling slightly guilty as i visited the Boots 75% off sale which started this morning. However I was quite restrained and only got pressies for specific birthdays and some for Christmas, and I have written it all down on my list. I shall have to change the name of that file however as DS (nearly 10) uses this computer quite often now and I can imagine him being quite interested to discover what his Christmas presents are going to be.
It wasn't nearly as busy in there as it was a couple of years ago, I wonder if that's because people have less money or Boots are better at managing their stock now.

Possession - you could always change the name and put a password on the document maybe called something imaginative like "presents" so you don't forget it, to keep his little peepers away!

I was going to have a NSD today but whilst mooching around Wilko's (I know, silly to go into a shop when planning not to spend a bean), they had C*lgate toothbrushes on for 98p, big box of gold and silver tree baubles for £1.25 (DD dropped the bag containing our baubles on the floor by mistake this C'mas so we really will need some for you know when) and then saw what will be a cute stocking filler for her for £1, oh and then there was a pint of milk reduced to 24p!....so decided that today will be a spend day and tomorrow I'll leave my purse at home so I can't let myself be tempted!!

I did avoid Bo0ts though, silly as it's near to Wilko's in my town, so I should have popped in on the offchance they'd have something....*sigh* Must resist though as I really don't have the pennies this (or pretty much any) month!

Does anybody else think its the rotten summer and lack of sun that's catching up on all of us and making everybody feel poorly? I can't remember the last warm sunny day I've had.
We had one day last week which was sooooo Spring-like, I had to take my coat off while gardening. It was wonderful to feel the sun on my back. Ok, so its all changed this week and is particularly cold, but hey, I was so grateful for that sun and its promise of better things to come.

MrS has jamaican ginger cake half price so I bought one to heat through and serve with custard tonight for the evening meal. Takes me back to my childhood and its cheaper than putting the oven on to make one. By serving a dessert, I can get away with a chunky soup with HM bread as the main.

My daughter is back! :T She seems to be very happy as far as I can tell, so the visit went okish which is good. I don't want to hear what he said about me, so have diverted conversations when that happens. Ex is still trying to get her to move there; of course if she wanted to go, there's nothing I can do (apart from breaking what is left of my broken heart). He won't be happy until he has taken everything from me, so he's ratching up the being "wonder dad" offering all sorts of financial enticements.

Anyway, she missed me and pooch; wanted to come home early but also wanted to stay. Brought me back lots of chocolate and Body Shop goodies. :D

Sorry, I can't recall how old DD is, but is she aware of his motives?
Can you talk to her about it, and tell her how this makes you feel?

Just popping in to say that ftm has posted on the not mentioning thread some sad news, :(

Byatt - hugs, its hard for anyone to understand a manipulation from a parent but harder for an asd child. All you can do is keep reminding her you will always be there for her no matter what.

    Hi to one and all

I hope everyone is doing okay? I have been missing for a while as I have been working and finding it difficult to fit it all in but I am off from now for a few days. I went to the boots 75% sale after work this morning spent £20 for goodies that should have been around £75. I say spent £20 but paid with the points on my boots card so no cash changed hands:)

Very dark and dull here I have come home and lit the fire. well off to find some food.

Mrs Chip One thought. Offer a reduced price on drinks/soup if they have their own mugs. A lot of walkers have their own.
