Well you'd better flipping well put the swear filter on for me!!!
We went all the way to Llanelli - two hour drive - £20 in petrol- all psyched up for OH's prostate biopsy, and the consultant wouldn't do it!!!! He said OH didn't have an up to date enough blood test, and that his bladder wasn't emptying properly (helloooo that's the symptom he went to the Dr with nearly 5 years back! !!!!!!) WELL when his GP referred himm to the hospital asking for a biopsy back in MARCH last year the blood test was flaming current, he waited all this time to see the consultant and REALLY could the guy he saw three weeks ago, not have not sorted all this out. The guy today told OH that people DIE from this procedure and it is last resort! He was apparently quite shirty with OH as if he'd volunteered himself for a rectal ultrasound with added sharp needles! Aarrgh. He's got another appointment in three weeks to be shown how to self catheterise  they'll do another test then. So GAWD only knows what will happen now?
Anyway...the road home was blocked by an accident, and we diverted as instructed by a police car, and the diversion road was ALSO at a standstill as a lorry had caught fire! I thought it was a ploy to stop me getting to Bookers, which was on our way home, and as OH hadn't had anything done, I thought I might as well, and was hoping shopping would calm me down as I had road rage by then! I did manage to retrace back to Bookers - well worth it:
We bought loo paper, which was what I went in for...and
Drum roll please......
Two big tubs Vanish reduced to £3.49
Box of 40 Doritos for £2.20
Box of Nic Naks (48) £3.00
Box of Seabrooks crisps (48) £ 2.50
2 X Tropicana OJ for 49p each
Custard slices for 37p
Mr K Rhubarb and Custard pies for 80p
A case of Red Bull for the young master (DS) for £6
A 2.45K jar of Bick's Hamburger Relish for £2.50
10K Sacks of cooking onions were BOGOF at £5
3 x packs of sausages for 70p each
A 1 Kg tub of meatballs sandwich filling - £2.99 (tonights dinner!)
and a box of 9 ready made sarnies, reduced from £6.99 to 2.99 dated to 18th! We ate two on the way home, and DS and OH can finish for lunches for the rest of the week/weekend. Totally agree with Saratoga that you really do HAVE to watch the prices in there, you'd assume they were cheaper, but they are NOT necessarily cheaper than Mr T. The loo paper is, and one or two other bulk things, but now I know they do whoopsies, I always check them out when I pass!!!I am SO SAD!
DS gets through a lot of the crisp type stuff in his college lunches. Fortunately they didn't have anything that needed to go in a freezer, as my freezer is chocablock I really do not think I could get even a single sausage in!
Anyway. Home now...and I am going to have a glass of wine!

Oooh butter making from cream was on telly last night, the Fabulous Baker boys or words to that effect. Hubby was very impressed so next time we see some reduced double cream I have a feeling he won't question the purchase!
We had a very nice tea this evening, an inch of pasta in the bottom of a baking dish, tin of sweet corn, tin of tomatos and basil and a tin of tomato soup over the top with half a tin of water too. Bunged in the oven for about 40 minutes and yum yum was very tasty! Topped it off with a bit of grated cheese ( I have to control the cheese being grated else hubby would use a whole block!!)You never know how strong you are until you have no other option.0 -
Forgot to say that my Gran taught me to swim, and she didn't even get in the water with me. She was a scary old bat, so it may have been pure terror. I taught all three of mine to swim, and I'm not particularly athletic or anything, it's well within the capabilities of a normal mummy...

Oh what a right royal pain Katie, a waste of everone's time and money, including NHS.
Hope the haul from Booker's made up for it - where is your one, we have to go up to Aberaeron tomorrow to collect the van (Woohoo!), we might call in to pick up some stuff on the way back?Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -

Bookers might be a bit out of your way LOL it's in Carmarthen (Johnstown - other side of the A40(?)). There's also one in Aberystwyth.

Why is everyone living in Wales but not me!
Katie, can you make a complaint? How awfully stressful for you both and it sounds like there was an almighty [STRIKE]c*ckup[/STRIKE], sorry, not the best word to use, somewhere along the line. No need for anyone to be treated like that. Your poor OH must have been dreading it too.
PIC, I think it's because Xmas was only the other day, so how can it be the 12th Jan already! :rotfl:0 -

Well put it like this *I* would, but I'm not the patient am I? They probably wouldn't even agree to talk to me. I'm not very happy with OH's general lack of action at the best of times, and when his health is on the line you'd think he'd be a bit more proactive. But you know what men are like! I just wish there was somewhere I could be so he didn't wake me up three times a night going to the loo! Because I am NOT getting used to it and now we have to get DS up at 6.30am it's a real problem for me too!

Kimsmum I am so sorry to hear about your friend, what an awful shock for you and of course her family.
Mardatha - having both Fibro and ME I totally understand how you feel. Try the Complan it will at least give you the nutrients you need, but if you can eat do so as its not a meal replacement.
I got a letter for Jury Service today a bit awkward considering I spend 85% of my time in bed. So filled in form explaining why I cannot do it and hope that will be that, but I phoned them and they said they will most likely want medical evidence and then they will decide if they feel my medical condition warrants me being excused. Luckily already going to see both GP and Fibro specialist next week so will mention it to them and maybe ask for a letter so have it ready to send if asked.
Been tired but not as bad as you Mardatha and apart from cooking done nothing past couple of days but energy will come back again. Should have really done a meal plan but need to go through freezer and see what we have in and so will have to wait.
Oh as if I don't have enough places to pile up things in my bedroom, I just received a over the bed table. Now I already have one, but as I have a small double to myself I tend through out the day to pile the bed up and then if to tired it gets dumped on the floor, so when someone offered it I was honest when asking for it and said I have one but she kindly offered it to me anyway, so now its on bottom of other side of bed to where I sit ready to hold things. So tided floor beside bed now and can keep active paperwork on new table as one with laptop on doesn't have much space.
Methinks I am going to have to have strong words with Rocket Gardens - ordered and paid for a large fruit garden in August to be delivered in Nov. With mild winter delivery was delayed then 23rd |Dec it arrived but half of the plants were missing. Was assured they would be sent after Christmas but by Monday just gone no plants so called again and was told they would be sent asap. Son just phoned they found a parcel in their back garden late last night addressed to me full of plants, yes missing ones. Now during summer I did stay at sons for a week to look after DGC and had plants sent there but since then have had quite a few other plants sent to my home address including first part of order. Only way plants could have ended up in their back garden is if the delivery driver threw the parcel over their side gate. So tomorrow I am going to demand replacement plants as who knows what damage there has been done to delicate strawberry plants and rhubarb crowns and they have been sitting in warmth in sons hall all day, not good. Up till this order they have been fantastic and I would have expected them to state for delivery driver that parcel contains live plants so handle with care. So a phone call will be made tomorrow.
Right better post this, I have been writing it for past 6 hours
Hugs and love to all who needs themNeed to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch
