Anyway, this year I am trying to do more for me and my well being, so I must remember to go to the meditation class tomorrow, although I am half talking myself out of it! :o

Don't you dare it will do you the world of good once you get the hang of it, you can just do it at home and let all your worries and the world go hang :rotfl:

I used to do it regularly but got lazy so with the talk of it on here I have been trying - trying mind you to do it again, snag is I cannot sit in the position I used to ( the crossed legs and straight back) and so finding it hard to get into but will not give up, right got to get on my treadmill - aiming to do the princely walk of 1km a day on it and today only done half of one and I pinched two sausages of hubby today ( they just looked so good and he had asked for 8, to much for anyone I am sure you all agree) so got to work that off. One pack would usually do both of us but as I said I would not have them the greedy pig said he would have full packet rather than it doing two meals, so in future I will not mention how many in packet as to expensive if I eat something different and he still has what we both ate.

Got to sit down and meal plan as he is eating all the wrong foods as I have been asking him what he wants and he tends to get rather high Cholesterol yet is as skinny as a rake, mind you a friend who struggles to keep her weight at 7st had high last year Cholesterol she never bothered cooking properly just filled herself up on cakes and biscuits now she is eating better she has gained a bit of weight but is still underweight.

Right treadmill and then meal plan then treadmill again - only do couple of mins at a time but so unfit its enough for me.

It was wonderful, thank you. Was very good only had one cream tea;) Weather was very mild. Even the in-laws were okay:D Just have another two loads of washing to do, not sure how we managed to create so much washing for such a short stay. Back to work for a few hours tomorrow, then home, sort out washing, dinner and then down to my dads to dog sit. I am off on Friday so should be able to have a bit of me time and will sort out the bits for you (byatt).

Coming home today DH sent a text to DD and then went a bit sheepish, when I asked what was wrong he informed me that the stew I had made on the Wednesday before we went away (had this for dinner on the Wednesday and had made a huge amount so we could freeze the left overs) he had forgotten about, it was still in the microwave and of course why would a 19 year old wonder what the smell was:eek::eek::eek:

Thanks PAH, you were very brave to leave with a young baby. I know in the 70's there wasn't the same support especially with the police.

Mine isn't a hitter but he was emotionally and psychologically abusive. I saw a support worker after he left and did their assessment form and was stunned and very tearful when I scored so high. The only part where it was low was the physical violence. Anyway, he is trying to find out where I am and what I am doing (could never understand that, because he was the one who left)...through my DD, and because of her ASD it is stressful to say the least as I don't know what she tells him. She has also started to call me when he's in the same room and tries to join in the conversation. I just say I have to go, but it unnerves me.

Anyway, this year I am trying to do more for me and my well being, so I must remember to go to the meditation class tomorrow, although I am half talking myself out of it! :o

My goodness, there are some very brave women on this thread :T

Byatt - I suspect (but I could be talking carp) that your ex doesn't like the fact that he no longer has any control over you/your life. Hope you manage to keep on subtly getting away from having to speak to him. I know it must be difficult especially as he's potentially "using" your DD to get back to you..

Also, don't talk yourself out of your meditation class. I do that...I get in my rut, get fed up of my rut, decide to do something, then wish I hadn't as it takes a bit of effort and self confidence I no longer have, and my little rut takes no effort. ....

Positive thinking, mind over matter required, methinks. Let us know how you get on...(there, you HAVE to go now :rotfl:)

Wow what a day. Got dog to vet, and they kept him in to operate. Then stitched him up. Was able to collect him this evening and he is off his food, groggy and obviously in pain. Got painkillers for tomorrow but he's had all.he can tonight. Don't want to think about the bill but let's say its in the hundreds!!

Got a small amount of painting done and tomorrow am going to get Christmas stuff packed into loft. Finally organised kids birth certificates so can open the bank accounts for the two eldest to pay pocket money into.

I would love a show home type house but with four kids its never going to happen, fact is we seem to lurch from one disaster to another and just have to roll with it. Some weeks its easy to accept others its a battle.

Gailey - you said your landlord took away the broken fire and left a poor replacement, does it have a safety certificate?

Dad changed my door lock today so can sleep easier (supposedly - was up and down all night to check on dog last night) but can see me spending tonight watching dog again.

Byatt - am glad you haven't had to disclose your home to ex, I know how important the feeling that he doesn't find you must be. I grew up with memories of listening to neighbour being battered and head hitting wall next to my bedroom, she threw him out but till the day he died (violent death) she lived in fear he would come back.

Hope doggie is soon feeling better Kidcat.

Gailey, not sure if you have Sains nearby. Ours currently has lots of Christmas sweets reduced - 30p per tube. Maybe you could get a couple of those to split for party boxes? Oh and nothing wrong with toasties for tea either. We often have baked beans or scrambled egg on toast too.

All you hardworking mums, I really salute you. Often I feel tired just reading your posts and all that you get done every day. Here it's only DH and me, and that's enough of an effort at times.

No work for me this week. They've said they will probably be wanting me in again soon, but not quite sure when yet. I'll try to make the most of my time at home while I'm here and get a few jobs done. Our bedroom really needs decorating, so that's the next big thing to tackle, though I don't really have much to spend on it. I'm thinking I'll probably just paint it white or cream to freshen it up, and perhaps get a pretty new duvet cover ready for spring.

Thanks PAH, Kidcat and LB's, all of you are so kind. I will go and report back tomorrow night! And yes, LB's it's all about the control, you are spot on. He's tried everything to get me to speak to him. I sometimes go into "helpless mode" but I do have a good friend who pep talks me out of it!

Kidcat poor pooch...they look so sad and funny at the same time when they stagger about after being drugged. Can you ask for some more painkillers? I know they cost but vets seem to only hand out a few unless you ask. Last year I spent several hundred pounds on my dog (sold my car), as she had cancer but the vet never removed the lump that I was most worried about and later said she hadn't seen it. Anyway, pooch is too old for another op, but it's stable and she's fine in herself.

I'm on the decluttering thread as I have too much stuff. Started on the bedroom today. (part office, part storage) and have loads to take to CS.

PAH I used to have a treadmill and loved it, but when I moved here there was no where to put it. I think I got up to 5 k in one go, but it was nice to just stagger onto the sofa afterwards!

Smileyt, I'm sorry to read about your job. :( Can you have a chat with the HB people; I know my local council have someone that is supposed to give support.

Mine lives in living room as this one is bigger than my old one and nowhere else to put it so there its likely to stay. I doubt I will ever get up to 5k but would be nice to 1k in one go but at moment takes me 20 mins but with plenty of breaks ( the 20 is the actual time breaks not included). I have learned to make sure don't use all my energy in one day as if I do knocks me for about a week till body makes it up, but if I go to bed with some left usually after a sleep its replenished, weird but true.:rotfl::rotfl:
