Evening All
Welcome to the new 'uns, the more the merrier!
Taurus - hope you are getting a bit better day by day.
Ginny - Ditto OH, is he still in 'picky' mode?
Byatt - Hope DD comes home soon!
Smiley -sorry about the job
That rag rug linky looks very interesting Saratoga!
We had an HMRC seminar about tax allowances this morning, but had a bad start when the car wouldn't . The battery has been playing up for a while, it was well past its natural lifespan, but it did pick it's moment. Luckily Mrs OG was able to lend us her car so we were able to get there on time. All very interesting, but not a lot of use until we are actually earning any money:rotfl:.
New battery cost just over £100:mad::(
We to Mr T after to stock up on some necessities (cat treast, cat food and cat litter being at the top of the list), and came out £50 poorer - no idea what on, but most of it was not on my list .
I did pick up some whoopsies pork spare ribs that looked decidedy iffy (quite fatty) but wanted something I could use to try out my new mincer.
I got it last week from Lidl, its an electric one. I have been looking at getting the Kenwood attachement for my Chef, but they seem to be about £50 and this was £35. It also has a saugage attachment, and a thing for biscuits.
The horrid looking ribs tuned into very nice looking pork mince which I made into meatballs. I had some frozen HM pasta sauce from a previous meal, so added a bit more passata and the meatballs and had it with value penne - very yummy. There is enough left for another meal so will make it into a bake for late in the week. Very pleased with the mincer, which will be used for the business to make my own mince for burgers.
Right off to watch the rag rug vids.Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
Quick heads up - had an email yesterday from Approved Foods - half price delivery until midnight tonight if you spend more than £35. Hope that helps someone.
Gotta go - need the loo (too much information!!)Aspire not to have more but to be more.

honestly, no one here is going to worry about your spelling or punctuation, there are much more important things in life... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Can't even imagine how I would even get my body in a position to change it there :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Well, I'm back. From meditation. We did mindfullness of eating. So afterwards I went and got ice cream and chocolate biscuits.
The 10 mins we did of breathing was pretty good, so I will go back I think. Need to justify the £30 for 5 weeks first though.
saratoga, I looked on that site and it wasn't what I was expecting, but looks really good fun. I think I will give it a go when I have finished de-cluttering ( a mammoth task). I need some rugs and they would be ideal.
Is anyone watching Edwin Drood?
edit: thanks Mrs Chips, me too.
smileyT, I would be interested if I was nearer, or February wasn't so soon, or...sounds great. Maybe a summer meet, or autumn.0 -
We are - never read the book, but seems a bit dark -I wonder if that is just the way they have done the adaptation, or if the book is like that (will kindle it tonight and have a quick peek).Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0

Good evening everyone
Dinner sounds yum Mrs Chip and I can completley understand the mystery of "I only went into the supermarket for 3 things and who put the rest of this stuff in my trolley"
Good luck with getting your hours at work back smileyt
Hello saratoga
Well I've bitten the bullet and did my gym assessment yesterday. Thankfully Scott the gym instructor was gentle with me and basically kept telling me to stop worrying, to forget about past bad habits and mistakes and to focus on the future. I've also signed up to do a FAB weight management course with my friend Emma.
Today I went to Aquafit for the first time. I was the youngest there by about two decades and one of the unfittest. Hopefully that will change and the exercise will have a positive effect on my depression as well. I'm on a scheme to get exercise classes and gym access for £2 a time for 6 months. The only problem will be affording it at the end of that time. The council run leisure centre is between £3.60-5.50 a time or £31 per month.
I'm saving money by shopping at Mr S's at the moment. They keep sending us £12 off a £60 vouchers. We've used about 8 weeks worth so far and had another 6 weeks worth turn up last week. If only I could stop stuff sneaking into the trolley I would be quids in.
Here's hoping my legs will work tomorrow as I have to go and visit the dental hygenist. Then I have to go into town to buy "Of Mice and Men" for DS1. An unusual 16th birthday present I know, but after suffering through it for GCSE and having a retake of the exam on Friday, we have promised that he can burn a copy of it. Not something I would ever normally agree with at all, but DS1 has mostly overcome severe dyslexia and has had real problems with this book and has studied so hard to do well in his exams.
(Also I had to study it at GCSE as well and developed a deep dislike of Steinbeck in the process)
Time for me to head to bed as I'm still getting back into the morning routine..Night everyone, sleep well xxx0 -
Byatt I'm glad you had a look ,once you get the hang of it ,it's really easy and you can watch the T.V. at the same time without feeling like a couch potato!!
SDG31000 Hello,it's nice to meet you!0 -
Smiley I may be able to make a Manchester toughie meet, however am terrible at finding my way around Manchester so would need really well known land marks!!!!!
Day two of no sleep, dog was in pain all night so sat up with him. Bit better today so hoping he settles a bit better tonight. Took his tablets like a dream though.
Took ds7 to behaviour meeting and they have concluded his main problems are school related and due to being poorly managed at school which is affecting home. So are sending a team to school!!! They have referred him to a sleep clinic too but can't promise any guarantee of success - it may be that he never needs more than a few hours sleep a night.
Have been eating from freezer all week and still no space - how does that work out?have thrown old veg all into a soup tonight ready for lunch tomorrow as I am finding I am exhausted in the day and can't be bothered cooking.
Ds13 is really upset at moment as he is realising the enormity of his condition, as he begins to understand it he just sees the limitations and is struggling with the enormity- he seems to recognise that OH has all the same traits and is panicked that he will end up the same. I have tried to explain that the point of all the diagnosis is to get him the help he needs and give him the tools to manage rather than leave him to flounder. OH is taking exception to the suggestion that he shares the same traits so am walking a tight rope to keep them both happy.0 -
Sorry your names did'nt come up blacker than the rest of the text,I will get the hang of this soon!!
Might have to say goodnight..... early start in the morning ,physically shaking teenagers to wake them up and threatening to hose them down in the yard if they don't get in the shower then hustling them out to college is very taxing on the brain!!!!0
