If you do need to wear them earlier a bit of vaseline over the heels (on the inside) means you dont get blisters. Also once you have worn them the first time, then repeat the polishing because you will know where the boots naturally crease to your feet.
I am envious you have a DUO outlet near you!
Thanks for all the tips everyone. Just need to buy some polish, I bought isoproyl alcohol as I read it can help stretch them but I am too scared to use it!
Kimitatsu it's their online site, they do an outlet bit where you search only for what's left in your size. I think being a size 9 actually worked in my favour!June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

At last I am starting to feel a bit better - hooray :j honestly the complications that set in after the op were worse (MUCH WORSE) than the major operation itself.
Am very interested in the weight loss posts. I've needed to lose weight for years and never shifted more than a lb or 2 which once lost usually went straight back on again. Have now lost 1 and 1/2 stone - eating very little and vomiting every couple of days is not the best route to weight loss though! Yesterday I was genuinely hungry for the first time since before I went into hospital mid December and just could not stop eating. Don't want to put weight back on but need to eat to get my strength back. Haven't lost any more weight in last couple of weeks even though still wasn't eating loads, didn't know about not eating enough stopped you losing weight until I read Sammy's and Preparedathome's posts, can anyone fill me in on this please?
DS2 came home from college yesterday (he's doing a Countryside Management course) and told me to get stocking up the cupboards. Given that his usual response to my large stocks (which have dwindled a bit while I've been ill) is to laugh and tease me, I was for a moment speechless. Turns out one of his lecturers had been telling them about the dire consequences of this mild spell on our this years harvests and how it is likely to drive prices through the roof this summer/autumn as well as cause big shortages. Food (forgive pun) for thought maybe ladies?People Say that life's the thing - but I prefer reading

Where are the days going to  Have DS3 off sick already *throat infection* so not much getting done here atm..
Have raided the Lakeland sale as I got some vouchers for Chrimbo, got some lovely tupperwares 9litre ones on 3 for 2 as they're being discontinued and they were knocked down as well so my Armageddon Cupboard is vaguely organised at last ..well..ish lets just say the packets of flour don't attack now when the door is opened!!
Reeling at all the price rises how are other people getting on with things? I've subbed quite a few bits this week for totally different items/dinners as I refuse to pay some of the price hikes, others like his nibs' strawberries I can't avoid:( OK they're 2 for £3 but I had the grand total of 14 strawberries for that!!
I've taken over a small corner of the loft for Amazon/bulk purchases I got 4x8 packs of Plenty from MrT as its on offer for £4,2 lots of Lenor from Amazon (12 bottles in total for £24 which was cheap as its the large+Febreeze..its now £16+) 4 x 18 packs of Andrex for £7 each also from Amazon.
We use an awful lot of this sort of stuff so its worth stocking up while its on offer.I am thinking of making some re-usable cloths when I can get to my sewing machine0 -
Very interesting re Starvation Mode, thanks for that. I can go for days too without eating, I get too tired to eat and live on tea. I find it really hard to eat 3 meals a day, so amange on a tiny splodge of porridge breakfast and then the tea at 5 o'clock. And I never lose more than a couple of lbs no matter what I do, even going onto skimmed milk. Sick to death of bloody ME actually, its like being half dead.
Wondering how the mild spell will cause food prices to rise ? I can remember last year they said the cold spell would do the same thing LOL. Why does nothing on earth bring prices down!! And I believe oil prices have spiked and that will go up next.0 -

From what DS2 told me it was because things are already starting to grow before they should so when we get a frost a lot of damage will be caused....agree totally that whatever the weather prices always go up for whatever reason is current that year - never go down.
Very sunny and lovely here today so wish I could go for a tramp across the fields its been sooooooo long since I did anything like that. Still very little energy (how you manage to stay sane with how your ME makes you feel Mardatha I don't know) and so many things I itch to get on with that I just can't manage yet. Must stop moaning.People Say that life's the thing - but I prefer reading

Morning All
Taurus - glad you are finally feeling better!
Starvation mode - it's what happens if you reduce the amount of food you eat to a point where the body decides to readjust what it needs to survive downward (very OS!) . If you cut your food right down there will be an immediate weight loss, but if you continue at that level the wight loss will slow up. Some diets suggest a way around this is to have at least one big calorific meal a week.
Certainly when I was on a Low Carb diet this was a problem because LC naturally supresses your appetite (great if like me you are always hungry!), and the natural inclination is to think not eating is a good thing. So really drastic diets can be a bit self-defeating, which I guess is why so many don't work.Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -

Well done - that is still a loss! I'd be chuffed with any loss TBH as I'm not doing so well. My plans for a long walk have been scuppered by my DD being off school & I don't feel I can leave her home aloneas she is such a drama queen. She is snoring away happily after being drugged with paracetamol & ibuprofen for the earache that had her in floods of tears last night.
Bless her, I felt like joining in - had my eye check up yesterday which involves lots of bright lights & things being just too bright & shiny for the rest of the day & I'm always exhausted the day after, so I could have done with a good nights sleep myself. DS slept through all the tears & goings on - think the band of the Grenadier Guards could march through his bedroom & he wouldn't stir - so jealous as I wake up at the slightest noise. Always thought the "overprotective mummy alert" phase would end when they got older but no sign yet :rotfl:
I suppose if I was feeling keen I could do an exercise dvd  but my eyes are too sore to put my contact lenses in & I get frustrated trying to exercise with glasses on as I have to hold them on with one hand so they don't keep slipping down, which in turn affects my balance (excuses, moi?).
Prepareathome - your happy tale of the WI meet has spurred me into action. I will phone the secretary when I have decided which group is easiest for me to join. The nearest is evening only so I'd need to go out in the dark which scares me although I could splash out on a cab as its not far, & the daytime one is a good 50 min walk each way (which would combine exercise nicely) but feels a bit far for making local friends.
Meme30 - no idea about chutney, sorry!
Sammy-Kaye - I have a few friends in Wales who are pretty worried about their long term futures, especially in RCT. They feel they have no option but to move or accept that they are unlikely to work again (mid 40's-early 50's age), but love where they live. I remember how nobody locked their front doors in Trealaw & my Great Aunt would come back from shopping to find a friend sat down in her kitchen, drinking tea that she'd helped herself to - everyone did it back then.
Dreadful 'O' level English books - "Cider With Rosie" how I loathed that book!
Hope everyone has a good day. I'm going to attempt a book keeping assignment after a cup of tea - no doubt that will get DD out of bed & wanting to chat :rotfl:And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...0 -
I've just made this chutney and it was easy and seems to have great reviews - obviously I haven't eaten any yet so can't say how delicious it is!
http://www.cottagesmallholder.com/apple-chutney-recipe-110Early start today, going to daughters to sort Grandkids for school. I have managed three NSD's this week which is very good for me, am trying not to go to shops till Friday. Means i will miss out on reduced items but will not spend any money! It's a bit Catch 22!
Well done all those losing weight, I shall be getting weighed on Friday and then I have to start losing weight in earnest! I have a wedding to go to in April and I don't want to have to buy a new outfit. I think I'm looking at having to lose a stone and a half but not spending money should be a good incentive! Have been eating too well over the holidays and it has to stop.
January does seem to be a depressing month for so many people, me included this year. hope everyone gets through it ok, pay day is such a long way off!:(
Am looking for an easy recipe for chutney - apple based I think. Am getting some jars together to do some Beetroot so I thought I might give chuyney a go.
Any help with recipes would be great, thank you0 -
Morning guys
struggled to get out bed today soo tired my own fault couldent sleep just tossed and turned.
needed milk again so thourght my last £6 before friday might go further at co-op so thourght do straight after school run as looked like rain and cold in wind .
Got to school on time just-miracle.
Had to speak to toxic freinds bloke as tommorows thursday and my daughter and theres was doing same afterschool club but now mines moved up and wont be in same group.
dident want daughter to say anything as dident want friends little girl getting upset.
was going to tell her monday if she bothered to come over or phone.
Also very weird maybe im being slightly paranoid but seeing it more as an intentional snub rather than so busy rushed off feet as asked her bloke has she gone back to work this week he said yes but she went back last week I knew this and she had 3weeks of in december and dident see her.
I asked if she still worked wed , thur fri he said yes, said noticed grandmother doing school run last 2days and he said other half was working?
I know I shouldent be bothered just wish I knew what i done dont think I done anything but makes it easier to make the break and move on when they being so odd.
Got few bargains at co-op but most were just too high still just first cut.
they had lots sausages and huge gammon joints!
I just got milk, reduced bread, reduced scotch pancakes and reduced crumpets as kids love both easy healthy snack for them. The value yougurts 2p more than big 4 at 52p.
But annoyed myself as went in mcolls and 4pint milk was £1 paid £1.50 in co-op.
They did have jersey milk reduced anyone tried this? did wonder if might fill my toddler up bit more being so creamy.
Took ages to get home due to toddlers tantrums.
Have mate coming over tonight so got some fish defrosting.
took skint to buy wine but brought value orange juice annd have vodka in house so sorted.
Probably relationship probs as usual we been freinds since we were 7 both coming from wales and co-incidentally moving here so looking foward to seeing her.
Went through freezer last night its on run down,
apart from sausages no other meat in there.
lots frozen veg and reduced bread.
Desperatly need to do a shop.
will do tiny top up shop on friday payday
go spar and co-op on weekend for reductions
friday morning go bujtchers
then tuesday hoping to do mr m and lidls then will do farmfoods the week after
Sammy k-all my family still in wales.
lots boarded up shops, market not what it used to be and few jobs wouldent move back despite brecon beacons being really pretty.
hubby borrow some money off his mam and brought himself new work trousers from sainsburys for 16quid annoyed as sure could have got something at charity shop.
he went to check out shop hes interveiwing at but used £10petrol getting there and back!
His interveiws tommorow so hoping he gets it. hes on another long day today so wont see the kids.
when hes home he checks emails 2-3days and constant phonecalls.
Im also trying not to get annoyed about his smoking just costs so much.
he got goven some fags for xmas by aunt but he doesnt like that brand and im like can you not just smoke them until payday friday and spend money on food instead?
He then says when I moan he says well you drink! yes 1 alcholic drink twice a week usual treat is 1cheap bottle of wine most weeks between us and odd bottle of beer hardly same expenditure as fags!
He was getting some off one of his drivers cheap but hasent for a while.
thinking might be cheaper renew passport and send him over calais!
I have a fairy cake addiction as getting better making them! Think its because can make something nice out of things in cupboard and think the cakes working out about 5p each.
This is going to sound daft but how do I make butterfly cakes? im feeling brave!
Todays packed lunch for daughter was ham sandwich reduced bread , reduced ham
fairy cake hm
apple-lidls
squash in bottle
quavers on offer 6 pk for £1 so 18p per packet
total cost based on fact reduced/on offer and hm maybe even 50p!
mad that packed lunches can cost as much as school dinners.
Im trying to be more cautious as school dinner is £1.70 a day so max value for packed lunch for me is £1.
Does everyone else have rough budget.
babybels and dairylea dippers are ocasional treat as every couple of months they go on offer at £1 normally for 5/6 so roughly 20p each then.
Used to put value mouse/.fromage frais in but she rarly ate it.
if crips not on offer I buy vale brand think approx 65p for 12 last time I checked.
Thanks for tip about aldi yogurts being cheapest will try that.
Also going to get some small tubs from poundstrecher and buy huge pot yogurt and workout how many mini pots and see if that works out cheaper as mostly for toddler and baby in the house anyway.
Chutneys really easy check out bbc good food sites its got some good chutney recipies.
need to make some for my dad soon.
I know this os going to sound mad after 3kids but baby boys last few weeks changed massivly its like someones pressed the fast foward button hes into everything and playing with his siblings so lovley to see makes it all worth it. hes pulling himself up and loves standing.
Sorted laundry yesterday there was a lot so today hoover, quick clean kitchen/bathroom and declutter lounge again but take long.
Im on sw and tend to lose more in weeks I eat more! maybe it is a mettabolic thing or maybe eating lots of good thing fills you up son no room for bad things so low cal, high fibre/density foods.
Hope everyones ok and having good day.pad by xmas2010 £14,636.65/£20,000::beer:
