Firstly , loving the jokes.

Secondly to all those ill or with poorly peeps in the house - I can sympathise. Im suffering from this dreaded lurgy bug, as is my mother in law and my Baby Doll Holly May. She has possibly eaten 2/3 mouthfuls of everything Ive tried to give her but shes still on formula milk (for 1yr+) so she is getting vitamins but think she'll be on chicken soup tomorrow as I know she likes it. Although she doesnt look ill. Slightly pale and very clingy and a loss of appetite so think my doctor would just laugh at me (should state her nappies were :eek::eek: and she did have a temp but that has gone!) and if she feels anything like I do then poor little mite!

Nice to see so many welshies on the boards. :D:D We might manage a welsh meet yet!

Ive been watching a 'wartime kitchen and garden' that I V+'d earlier. I love all that sort of stuff.

I must confess that I barely saw the new year yesterday - and it was only because Holly was so unsettled that I saw the clock strike 12. I remember when I was a newly joined scared little wannabe toughie seeking guidance at just 19 years old and a baby on the way............now look! 27 (Yes I know that will make some of you feel VERY old!) Hard as old boots, a 7 year old rough and tumble young lad and a baby on me hip! :p..........:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: time flies.

Anyway new years resolutions for this year.
1. Eat properly and by that I mean regular meals not picking
2. Get some savings together
3. Grow my own veg
4. I'd like a family holiday so think I will be another on the £9.50 holiday this year.
5. Make gifts/Get a hobby
6. Buy a sewing machine.

I really fancy a sewing machine - can put my A Levels in Textiles to good use then - and thank Kirsty's homemade christmas for that too.

Also been looking at cross stitch patterns - I love stitching and I find it theraputic as well as a nice hobby and a good way to destress after a testing day.

Hmmm..........owens gone to bed before me.........:eek::eek::eek: that's unheard of.

Wish I'd known about the double cream / jar for butter making - have had lots reduced the last few weeks and I think that might be a good learning curve/skill for benjamin......jar shaking. :D

and just for good measure - this is what my son got me with on christmas day.

Knock Knock
Who's there?
Alpaca!
Alpaca who?

Alpaca the trunk, you packa the suitcase!

:):):):):):)

...
personally, I will spend 2012 continuing to be who I am, being honest about my mistakes and learning as I go along....I will be grateful for the help, support and encouragement that I find in these forums and in RL, I will spread all the happiness that I possibly can and I will be thankful for the ability to accept and welcome the changes that life brings.... I will continue to live and make my own reality and know that everything I have, I treasure....:D ...

Great post, my resolution this year is to lose a lot of baggage and negativity in my life, I've copied and pasted your post to my desktop for a reminder :D

Wishing all the toughies the very best for 2012, I hope this new year is kind to us all

fuddle, sorry if I'm speaking out of turn but your avatar is very negative, would be great to see you with something more uplifting; sometimes posters have very negative user names and I'm sure that has an effect on them too

• witchywoopiggy - am just glad your OH and you were not in the car when they did it, we had our campervan blown up a few years ago, nutters were going round blowing up letterboxes and decided to add our poor old van to their list, it was off the road ( sitting in side garden) as needed some work done and so we had let insurance lapse so that was the end of our outings as we couldn't afford to buy another. Taken a lot of saving just to buy that one and it was ancient. Even though we had bomb squad, and all sorts of police involved they never caught them.

You say you don't have fully comp ins, have you checked out this is the cheapest, as was reading about how its not always the cheapest option - think it was something Martin wrote about just this past few weeks.

Am sure you will manage fine with OHs direction, good luck.
Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

I was going to have a purple rinse in a few years when I become a pensioner. I think I may just dye it bright purple now and have it cut even shorter..... about a half inch long.

Just to surprise the $H*t out of everyone.

Well.....my new years resolution is to have more fun!

Could be teeth? Hope you all feel better soon.

Well, that's it, nearly over. OH has gone back to work today and me, DD and fave niece going to theatre. Fave niece going home tomorrow :( and kids and me back to school / work on Weds.

Diet starts today and no alcohol for rest of month. I am not going to worry too much if i really fancy a glass of wine, but am not going to have one out of habit (i.e. Friday night, glass of wine time!) Not so much of a diet either, more back to normal and reasonably healthy eating. Trouble is, we still have a house full of chocolate, a third of a christmas cake, a stack of cheese etc. etc to use up. I won't chuck it so will just go through it gradually rather than all of it, every day :rotfl:The Thorntons have gone so they can't tempt me :j / :(;)

January is supposed to be the "empty the freezer" challenge. Only I have to empty the fridge first! I really don't want to buy too much in the way of food this month - am trying for about half of my normal budget and it should make life a bit easier as most of what is in the freezer is home cooked ready meals, so there shouldn't be too much cooking.

Am going back to yoga on Friday and DD wants to do zumba on Wednesdays. Can't say that Zumba appeals to me that much but DD is a bit overweight and she wants to try it, so i think it will do her good to go and soI am going to support her.

Theatre is at 1 so I think i'd best get up and attem soon. have a good day all xx

I suppose my avatar is rather negative and doesn't really fit what I'm trying to achieve this year at all. Leave it with me and I'll try to find something that is more how I am feeling now. Thanks for pointing it out, it's not something that brings me down though. It was just how I was feeling back in November 2010 when I joined and just didn't think to change it.

My username though, :rotfl: nothing sinister there, just means I think my head is all mixed up and things fly out of it left right and centre - and I think with you all spending this last month with me you would probably agree :rotfl: I see fuddle as quite an endearing term, something that fits no matter how I'm feeling. It doesn't get me down. Hope it doesn't you all. :o

Shopping day today. I am going to butchers warehouse to get meat, fruit and veg - V. cheap (the car is now officially mine as DH starts his new job tomorrow - it's all clean waiting for the Adele CD's, winter prep box and crochet blankets to creep in :rotfl:)) I digress, then Aldi for packed lunch ingredients, dairy and the rest of the ingredients to the dreaded Tesco nearby.

I'm looking forward to finding a more appropriate avatar later rosieben :)

Oh dear :( Just bought some cords in the F@t F@ce sale :o

In my defence I have just donated 2 pairs to charity because they were soooo dated and I have money from dad for my birthday so that's what I got.

I have a budget for clothes this year, that i am really going to try not to exceed. And FF are good quality, it's places like the supermarkets and primarni I am going to avoid. Justifying myself? Much? :rotfl:
