Oh lord, the cat is missing. :( I've tried 3 times, the last one just minutes ago...up that awful lane, pitch black out in the middle of nowhere and a torch that isn't as bright as it needs to be. The cat is called after the baby who was born in a manger...so there am I...calling, J.... J....(don't want this coming up on Goog!e)...he's a gorgeous cat and I'm worried now. Both pooch and I are exhausted. It's raining, windy and the road is more pothole than road. Off to look for really, really bright torches!

OMG I feel really guilty as we gave a "joke" gift of the kama sutra to a couple who are friends of ours. The wife has had her mother live with them for the past five years and she has just moved out. Before she moved out they would have to make most of there time in the shower "special" as with two kids and the mother they could find very little alone time. They often laugh how they have forgotten what a bed was for so hopefully they will find the funny side :o.

Sorry if this has not come across properly but DH and I have been "testing" the home brew to see if it's ready yet.

PIC, that sounds ok to me...:o:rotfl: I wouldn't worry, I'm sure they will "get" it...

Its very wet here in Manchester at the mo. Busy getting ready for OH's op on Tuesday. I need to remember to eat hot meals when I get home from visiting - we dont know if its going to be a short or long stay. Must remeber to wash his dressing gown tomorrow as the part of the hospital he is going in has air conditioning so is very cold. Got small jigsaws, and lots of books ready.

Have been working on a notebook to map all my spending and making stuff in for the year so I can keep track of where its all going. Aiming to add to my attempts at organisation so off to have a bath and plan more. Just sent for my Bokashi bran so i can start using my bins but was shocked at the £8.95 postage for Bokashi direct so am going for wiggly wrigglers - cheaper all round. Am guessing it has caught on as more people 'play' at doing all things green and growing  Going to keep an eye on freecycle in case anyone has got fed up with their toys. :rotfl:

pic, I'd get it and laugh my socks off, and more...eeek! :rotfl::o:D;):p:eek:

Byatt be careful out there. I'm sure the little fluffy one has found a nice cosy patch and is sitting out the awful weather. Don't worry too much and don't put yourself in danger

Thanks for thinking of me. I'm not going out again tonight, just can't face it. :A
  • I was half way through writing don't go out in this weather the cat will be fine but ....

DH decided to have far too much "posh strong cheese" whoopsie down to 10p. He is allergic to penicillin and cheese makes him go bright red and sweaty so I have been flapping round like a flappy thing while he is sat huffing and puffing the blinkin muppet :o

    Men

Byatt - I'm sure the cat will be fine. Mine can be out for 18 hours at a stretch in the most appalling weather and comes in dry and warm. Whereas pup goes out for a quick wee and comes in drenched. As you are baby sitting and not the cat's owner it is unlikely to feel it wants to come out of its snug shelter just to greet you. I bet if you go back when the weather is fine it will be there asking for grub.

SDG - not surprised you were upset. Just get rid of the stuff. You have your own family enterprise now and the friends and colleagues that go with it - the people you choose to be with, rather than family who you can't choose and who sometimes can be thoughtless. Not saying all families are like this, but some are. Stick with your values and principles and forget the rest.

ETA sorry PIC but that sounds hilarious - hope he's not really ill

    Thanks Liz :)

Pic is your OH ok now?

Made me laugh :rotfl: so I think the home brew is well on its way to being ready!

SDG - I wouldn't have been thrilled to receive those presents, but families can be decidedly odd... I like LavenderBees' idea of re-gifting (very MSE).

GQ - shocked to hear about the camps. I have noticed that when I'm in Bristol I rarely hear English being spoken on the streets very widely. It is similar in Bath, although I always used to put that down to all the darned tourists (forever getting in the way when I lived there!).

Byatt - hope your cat appears soon. I used to stay up late waiting for mine to come home - sure sometimes she would have said "I'm not that late" if she'd been able to talk. The look on her face was just like a stroppy teenager being caught out :rotfl:
And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...

Kidcat you were not useless when with your friend. Crying with her showed her you had empathy for her, never underestimate how much comfort you can be by just being there.
