Ds has been bouncing on it all day!! Excitement, sweets, Christmas, and distracted adults are not a g ood mix with an ASD child it would seem.:rotfl:
dad has managed to put it back together and has an emergency repair plan for tomorrow - long term repair plan for next week. So normal service should be resumed - just so long as it doesnt collapse when I chuck turkey on it tomorrow :rotfl:

All done here and ready to sit down to White Christmas with bottle of Rose, tin of celebrations and tub of mince pies!!

    Happy Christmas Everyone

Just had Xmas eve dinner with OG , Mrs OG and OH, whos duty it was to supply pre-dinner drinks. Not too difficult unless you are arithmetically challenged and trying to make cocktails - a bottle of voddy between four in the fist drink makes for an interesting evening! How I managed to serve three course without tipping one one them over a guest is anyones business. OG did great uninitentional Alistair Sim impression with his top set and OH passed out on sofa. They are due back round here at 11.30 tomorrow morning, my liver and sanity may not survive.
I still have wrapping to do, and the kitchen looks like there has been a small earthquake. I have no doubt my head will ache in the morning when I need to be compost mental for cooking lunch.

Hope everyone has a lovely day and for those who are not really in the mood (count me in), I hope you are able to find some peace and comfort . Everyone else, feel free to have a riot!

I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • Good morning everyone and Merry Christmas. I'm just sitting here enjoying a quiet cup of tea before the day begins in earnest.

I hope everyone's turkeys, tempers and tables make it until at least lunchtime in one piece;)

And for those of us north of the border who don't want to risk excommunication from the great cult of baking by daring to use margarine, I found yesterday that scottish co-op are doing their own brand unsalted butter at £1 a pack: which is the cheapest I've seen for a long time. Needless to say, I stocked up, but I'll need to get some more as I seem to have used an awful lot in pate, biscuits, cupcakes, etc etc

    Have a lovely day all.
