    Morning all

Was up at 2am as the dogs wanted to go out, then couldn't get back to sleep, but finally did. Woke again at 6.30 so thought I would get up and have a cuppa. Plan for the rest of the day is making sausage rolls, mince pies and cooking the turkey. Also need to go out to have a foredge in the hedgerows for some ivy etc going to try to do a little arrangement for the table. Hoping I will be back on but just in case Happy Christmas!

By the way softstuff love your plan for the day:)

    Morning all,.
Been missing for a few days, elderly uncle passed away on Monday, as he had no children my sister and I had to do all the arrangements.
The funeral was yesterday, as we knew they was going to be lots of people at it we had food and drinks after the service at his old bowling club.
We found out lots of things about my uncle we didnt know, he was 86 and never married. We found out yesterday his first girlfriend was hit by a train and died and he was heart broken and never went out with another girl after that. I was so touched by all the stories his old friends told us about him. He was such a lovely man and keep everything to himself.
So once christmas is over we will go and clear his little flat and sort things out, although he keep everything spotless and all the paper work was in a folder and up to date.

Taurusgb Hope you are getting better, sending some postive thoughs.

Mardatha,Sorry I missed your birthday hope you had a great day, my birthday is on the 3rd Jan and my mum always forgot about it too.

Hope everyone else is keeping well:)

He sounds a lovely man Kimsmum, he will be reunited with his sweetheart now :)
Totally agree with ginny re colds etc - I'm always having rows with family about this. Last xmas I gave in and went to the daughters for xmas dinner - even though they had all been ill - and came home with swine flu. Luckily not bad. Daughter wasnt happy yesterday either cos we handed pressies in at door (we were en route to somewhere else anyway) but her youngest had been up all night being sick and she wasnt feeling too great either. You'd have to be mad to ask for illness but she cant see that.
  • Merry Christmas everyone!! Here is a picture of a clean-shaven man in large white underpants :santa2: Am I the only one who sees this? :o

Special thoughts for those for whom Christmas will be be particularly difficult this year ((((HUGS))))

    Wishing everyone a peaceful time.

The cake tins are full, the ham is simmering on the stove and will go into the oven later for dinner, the presents are wrapped and DH is going out in an hour to help our friend peel all the veg. I'm feeling much more festive :D
I didn't feel brave enough to tackle the Huge, crowded Tescos so popped down to the Co-op instead. I spent £29 and got a duck half price for Boxing Day, a turkey crown for £11.50 and that is now in the freezer for the New Year, lots of bread rolls at 9p a pack and the stuff I actually went in for.
I still need to finish dinner and make croissant bread and butter puddings for dinner tomorrow. Then I plan to watch Carols From Kings and have a soak in a hot bubble bath.
I hope everyone has a great Christmas and a wonderful New Year :)

    Merry Christmas everyone! :santa2:

    It's Christmas Day here!

My Christmas Eve went according to plan *hic*, it almosts feels as though we've done the celebrating, but we're off to do more of it today! It seems my baking was about right quantity wise. We have half half a dozen mince pies and 2 cookies left :rotfl:. Might I suggest that anyone not in the mood try and mix of vodka, fresh orange and cranberry juice, followed by a game of scrabble. Works wonders.

Hope everyone has as good a day as possible.

Taurus, thinking of you and sending you love, hope the new year brings good health for you xx.

Hugs to anyone not feeling overly festive too.
