Oh I need some strong virtual hugs. After 24 hours agonising pain ct scan has pinpointed a constricted bowel. So am now back on IV everything. If it doesnt sort itself out in 48 hours then it's back to the operating theatre for me & no chance of being home for Christmas. I'd have a good cry if I could blow my nose but drain tube from my stomach won't let me.

    Loads of hugs hunni

Fuddle, not exactly a cookbook, but Weezl's website is brilliant. It's here http://www.cheap-family-recipes.org.uk/ It shows you how to feed a family of 4 on £100 per month. Prices are as at September 2010, so probably a bit higher now, but full of great ideas nevertheless.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Big (((hugs))) Taurus and hope you feel much better soon!

I have lit 14 candles tonight and sent up prayers and positive thoughts for so many! A good friend of mine has cancer of the oesophagus, another has a baby with pneumonia! Others are scared of losing their jobs, some have worsening MS and ME and I hope and pray that 2012 will be kinder!

My little doglet has cystitus and is pretty miserable but has medicine that will soon have her feeling better, hopefully! We hope to be able to leave her with our dog loving friends thisChristmas (if doglet recovers quickly and can go stay with our friends) and we hope to visit the nearby Beamish open air museum while the place is decorated up for Christmas!

I remember a Christmas when I was very young - about 50 years ago when Dad had not been paid (due to an admin error) and we spent Christmas at my grandparents. There were no grand presents or fancy meal but we were all together, presents were home made knitted scarves etc., and it was the best Christmas ever, the one I will remember till the end of my days!

Anyway just wanted to come on and say Happy Christmas everyone as I may not be able to access the internet for the next week! But I will hopefully be helping our first grandaughter to celebrate her first ever Christmas! :)
Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

BTW, the recipes are going home with me; I plan to destabilise my homeworld by instigating a religion worshipping Baked Goods. Our principle deity will be Softstuff but I still haven't decided on the rest of the pantheon, so please send your cv to my mailbox, if you'd like to be considered.

You're only saying that because you think I bear more than a passing resemblance to the fertility goddess statues you've seen :rotfl:

Still, I'd be happy to be your deity, but beware I'm a vengeful goddess and will strike down with furious anger users of Splenda and margarine (my good graces can be purchased with offerings of sugar, butter and chocolate).

Good morning everyone, and I'd like to thank you all for your kind words, regarding my friends loss. She's gone into busybusy mode, which is her coping mechanism, the autopsy was yesterday, but I don't know how long it will be before they hear the result. I'll be seeing her this morning, I've got to go to the dentist (an hour away grrr) because a big chunk of a back tooth filling fell out of my tooth on Monday, the dentist has managed to fit me in today, and she's offered to drive me, so we can go and do some Xmas shopping for her afterwards.

I went shopping in Carmarthen yesterday, interesting to note that although the car parks were packed solid, there were very few queues in any of the shops to pay? Not even in Mr. T....

Re the dentist, I really could have done with the day at home today, I've got so much to do  The shopping for the kids, my friend and my mum's pressies are all sorted, but I have one small gift to sort out, and most importantly OH - for whom all the deadlines I needed to meet have passed, without me doing anything about it at all!!!! :( I was going to get him some exotic sausages or meat, but all the stuff I saw yesterday that 'might' have done in a pinch (in M&S) was dated use by Xmas day! So no blimmin good at all!

Had to drop DD in town last night to meet her BF when he finished work, so went on a whoopsie hunt :rotfl: Bagged some veg bargains in Mr T. Exotic stir fry veg, a bag of greens for the chickens, two organic caulis, and some of those expensive long pointy peppers, also a bag of bagels - all for less than £2.50 My fridge is stuffed with random bits and pieces I need to sort it out!!!

Thank you GQ I have found it and reserved it at the library :) No wonder you didn't recite the whole title

We didn't get the mince pies made yesterday so that's on the agenda for us today.

Also, question? You know how we don't really appreciate going overboard with present buying and food indulgence for just one day at Christmas? Could the same be said about going over board with the house work for just one day?:rotfl: I feel like I must clean everything. I feel like I don't want to clean everything !
