I got some bargain whoopsied fish cakes from Mr A and when I got them out to defrost they just completely disintergrated. Now this is going to be a really stupid question, but how do you make eggy bread?? Is it just beat an egg, slop the bread around in it and then grill it?????? It sounds yummy but I have never tried it
Eggy bread is gorgeous!
Beat a couple of eggs with a little salt and a splash of milk. Dip bread into it and fry in butter (could use oil but I am a butter bunny!)
Its really good on its own, with ketchup or even better Maple Syrup0 -

Here at home, we use the "arteries slam shut" method.
Beat 2 eggs with a splash of milk and a few drops of vanilla. Heat a pan to a medium heat an melt a knob of butter in it (or ghee). Dunk the bread each side until it's absorbed enough. Fry in the butter until golden each side, adding a bit more butter when you turn it. Dredge it with sugar and cinnamon.
This can also be served with nicely cremated bacon, maple syrup or cream. Or hot dark cherries in syrup. Or caramelised bananas...Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -

Re cheap carpet for rugs in bedrooms, apologies can't remember posters name....well last week I popped into a carpet shop and picked up a roll end bargain for £5.00. Perfect for our freezing kitchen with slate tiles and no radiator. Better than a 'runner' mat and cheaper too.
Hot water bottles are just ace, I especially love mine with its furry cover.
My other top tip is get a 'Pressure Cooker', I have never had one before but am highly impressed with how little gas they use, I have a gas cooker, how delicious the food tastes and how quickly it cooks.
Plus another bonus I've noticed is great for batch cooking and my kitchen doesn't get steamed up thus no condensation or freezing me because I have to open the doors and windows to air it out.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

Have just come back from the sales with a pair of trainers, well outdoorsy trainers which are more like low-cuffed hiking boots. They cost me £20 bar a penny and are Karrimor KSB, if that means anything to anybody. I am in a strop with Hi Tec after a pair of their boots peformed appallingly and neither the retailer nor they would accept they had a responsibilty and Consumer Direct were about as much use as a chocolate teapot. They are very dominant in the outdoorsy market so I was playing the "What's on sale which isn't Hi Tec?" game. I've vowed they'll never get another penny of mine.
My husband swears by karrimor and wears them for work. He's VERY heavy footed and they last better than any other brand he's tried (although they didn't do to well after walking through brick acid:eek:)Owe Mum for house deposit: 01/04/2011 £4700

I bought a pair of KSB's when I went to Aus in 1999. I wanted a pair of good, sturdy walking boots. I still wear them now!!0

I often think salmond comes across bit crazy.
last week he said scots practically scandavian!
Last year he wanted to be best buddies with ireland dont know whats changed?
From what I gather scots are split on snp policies.
reminds me of green green grass of home north/south divide.
Read contradictary things about north sea oil revenure in relation to subsidy unsure whos right must admit switch off on lot of scottish issues.
Been to endinburgh once lovley city.
Also been compenhagan denmak lovley city but was pricey we mainly cooked food from spar in youth hostel kitchen.
Was loads of snow yet roads were clear and buses were good.
The houses looked fab!
The other year jamie oliver did round europe series called jamie does and said swedes pay 70%tax.
Think scandanavia has some good examples but the uks quite unique and unsure it could mimic other countries.
Keep thinking who would I invite to my imaginary dinner party?
I love eggs bread all this talk makes me think should do some later.

Morning
My last carpet came out of a skipWe were driving home past one of "the posh houses" and saw a roll on top of their skip. DH nearly crashed (usually happens when we see a skip
) DH knocked on the door and asked if we could have it for our lotty. Those big houses have a big/huge front room and a smaller dining room all open plan so the bit they chop off is just big enough for DS bedroom :j top quality expensive carpet for nowt :j:j (he still does not know its from a skip though :rotfl:)
I love the posh people skipssome of the others just fill them with rubbish :rotfl:.
The porch is nearly finished. The base was concreted yesterday so just waiting for it to dry. DH got a bargain on some floor tiles at £2 a pack so has cost £10 as we already had the goo to put them down with. There is no garden left only mud patches
Jumbled my little heart out on Saturday. Even though I went to buy I ended up helping out but still managed to get a bag with wheels with extendible handle for DSS school trip, wellies, big quilted coat for going in the garden, three body warmers which I have been looking out for but were too expensive, a hand soap dispenser which is quite posh so no one will know I have 9p sainsbobs shampoo in them, and a few dresses. This was an expensive jumble though as items were 30p each instead of the usual 20p :rotfl:
The cats have been allowed out for the first time since the snip and are quite bemused at the porch as it was not there the last time they were out :rotfl:
I have a bowl full of limes (whoopsie 2p each) can I do a lemon meringue but with limes instead???
