Which printer is best for cheap ink?!

thanks for the above post - yes I can confirm that they are the cheapest I've found and their "special offers" are particularly good value. The range of prices from different suppliers is IMMENSE and getting caught out having to buy some paper locally makes me winse.

This is interesting. I went into a local shop yesterday that I don't usually use to buy cartridges for my HP.
The total price was just over £40.
They were telling me that I could buy a Brother printer for £40 and that the cartridges were £5 each against the £15 I paid for the HP
I didn't buy the Brother, but I did wonder.
Does anybody have any thoughts on Brother?0 -

Never used one myself, but what I've heard is they're aimed at the business market and are very good value for ink. The only possible downside is they're usually a bit pricier to buy (although yours sounds a steal) and they may look a bit bulky/boxy for a domestic setting which might bother some people (Not me thouigh):AThere is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
Might have a think about that then.
Our main printer (HP) is quite old but it was expensive when new.
It creaks a the seams a bit now.
The new printer is lower range spec but is wi-fi.
I was looking for a new printer to replace the old one that had a feed.
The guy in the shop said they are £129 and that they are also wireless.
I might bring my thinking forward on the replacement if they are reasonable quality.0 -
I bought the Epson Sx235w a few weeks back. Seems fine for what it does.
Small size, multi-function and wireless and cheap copy carts available. :cool:0 -

I just replaced my 6 year old HP Officejet with a Brother fax/scan/copy/print machine (MFC-795CW) Wireless machine. Original inks aren't too pricy but I have had it converted to CISS with the extended size ink tanks and a bottle of each colour for spare. This makes the ink cost very cheap and seems to work fairly well. I tend to print off quite a number of pages with colour and am happy with the quality and savings. With CISS system you just need to make sure the ink you buy is of reasonable quality.0 -
I have an epson sx200 printer and always buy my compatible inks from ink-power via ebay, never had any troubles with them, work just like genuines.0

Have you tried manually dragging the print cartridge holder?0
