Needless to say, I didn't buy!!
Of the £4.50 delivery charge paid for marketplace sales a proportion is retained by Amazon as their fee for the sale. Amount depends on the category. Listing is free, Amazon take their cut from the back-end of the sale. That's how it works.
It's also the reason why you see items on Amazon for 1 pence.
I listed my first item on Amazon a couple of weeks ago (a Casio camera case). Of the £4.50 delivery charge Amazon kept £2.01 for the fee & 30p vat. From the remainder I paid the postage & packaging to the buyer. If it's something heavy you could lose money on postage.
It's actually Amazon themselves that dictate the delivery charge for marketplace sales not the individual sellers.Ye'!, And!!?. How am I supposed to know?0 -
thanks guys
I am so pleased I waited now, I got a 512 transflash card this morning for £7 with delivery, and its all thanks to you lot as I was looking at them last year in november cos I was going to treat myself to one for my birthday and they all £30+ delivery then, so pleased it means I can get alot more on my phone now instead of deleteing stuff all the time.
thanks again

The cheapest store I have found is 7dayshop.com, currently doing 1Gb SD cards for £4.49 + delivery. This is a flat rate of £3.95. Also the cheapest I can find for original ink cartridges too, but I wouldn't touch the compatibles.
They are based in the Channel Islands and their service is generally pretty good.0 -

They're cheap, their products include postage and their site really makes me chuckle, plus they're helpful at answering queries. I wholeheartedly recommend them!
Just my viewand my first post, yay! :j
Just wanted to express my appreciation for this tip. Ordered a 2gb sd card on Friday for £11.05 (Kingston) and it arrived in the post Saturday. Can't say fairer than that plus the website is very informative about what you're getting for the money. (Same item at Jessops in town £24)Keep smiling,
