i order a lot off stuff from amazon so i have prime on my account,so i can order stuff the day before my day off and get it when i am in ye.
ordered a disc set yesterday morrning to be deliovered today from black friday deals,
so i was up early this morrning waiting for delivery and get an email off DPD saying the time for delivery ,got an hour window like they do,looked at the tracking site every thing in order,
all well and good every thing on track how it should be.
so i am in my computer room having a coffee with my cctv cameras on the screen because i cannot hear any one at the front door ,so watching the drive/street and front door with a little bit more off the street on it,
an hour passes and no delivery van,so ok might be running a little late,it happens NO
look at the online tracker from DPD and they say delived at 9:42 ,signed by posted ??
so just to be safe i go have a look at the letter box nothing, look round the from door,in the bins (you never know)nothing ,
i ring DPD and they say its was deliverd at 9:42 ,
i say it has not been delivered ,
DPD say ,we can prove its been delivered ,
i say, good where too ,
DPD .my address
i say, well my cctv cameras can prove you have not delivered my package and thers not been a DPD van down my street,
DPD ,arr let me ring the depo,
five minutes later they come back and say,
its been delivered to number 32
i say,thats not my address ,
DPD ,yes we know that, but the driver said they get a lot off parcels so he delived it there,
i say,so what are you going to do ,
DPD ,nothing ,take it up with the sender and i do not like your tone
that where the call ended ,
rang amazon and thier sending a new one out ,letts see if that turns up ,knowing my luck i will get two and have to send one back,
i know thing go missing and things turn up late but knowingly deliver to the wrong address takes the biscuit a little bit in my books

I'd love to know if Amazon do anything about these rogue delivery companies/drivers.
Do they have something in the contract that lets them penalise the company when something like this happens or do they just factor that they are going to have to write off a certain amount to cover the costs of replacements and just increase the price of everything a little. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

I suspect the latter. To be fair, when I had a problem with a courier employed by Amazon, they promptly sent me a replacement in the mail that turned up the next day. I doubt they bothered pursuing it with the courier though. It will be cheaper to write off the (no doubt) small number of items that go missing.
And re. the OP's post... I love the comment about No. 32 getting 'a lot of parcels so he delivered it there' :rotfl:"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

People make mistakes in all occupations, anyone saying they don't is kidding themselves.
I can see how the driver made the mistake, you have regular customers and sort of go to their house on autopilot if you have a delivery on their road.
Sounds like the main problem was with the person you spoke to on the phone as obviously its DPD's responsibility to go and pick it up again then redeliver to you.0 -
Not very good service by DPD and good service for Amazon but did you actually go to number 32 and see if they have it?In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0

i am a driver(LGV) and i do not make this mistake even on autopilot
but its not about that ,
its my rant about a lapsy daisy van driver that cannot be A**** to do his\hers job,and had to pass the house they should have gone too(i can prove no DPD van came down my street at all,at any time in the day) and a poor customer service from a poor courier company
yes mistakes happen ,loses happen ,been late happens ,the list go's on but knowingly delivering to the wrong address except a neighbours house and a calling card saying that is very wrong and out of orderthere or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff0 -
THe company I work for have used DPD for almost 4 years now and whilst I am the main contact and the person who sorts everything out to do with DPD I can tell you that 95% of the time all goes smooth.
They can leave it with a neighbour and will if they can't get an answer at your address, that said if they don't try your address for any reason then there is no excuse.
I have had a few issues over the years however this is usually with 'agency drivers' who DPD ususally hire around this time of year to cope with the rush, they are not under the same scrutiny as DPD's own drivers and are getting paid no matter what so care less. I am not in anyway saying this is the case for all agency drivers this is my opinion of a lot of them.

I guess asking a sensible question is off the table but I'll try again, OP did you walk to number 32 and ask if they have your parcel? In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0
