Of course a letter by post was best as that is the only way I could have been sure that it would have arrived.

LOL....You have more faith in the Royal mail than me...

Im sure an email with a delivery receipt on was the correct route to take....(and a letter)
I might have had time to stop the payments then.....
  • I would suggest that whatever form of electronic payment you used when purchasing from Shopneo could have been compromised, its no good just waiting for someone to fraudulently take money from your account.
Once you have become aware that your account details may have been compromised you are duty bound under your card agreement to contact your card issuer and tell them so they can halt any more payments on that card and issue you a new one.
Anyone failing to notify their card issuer once they become aware that there may be a problem will become liable themselves for any moneys taken from the account.
  • hi paul - sorry if you would rather deal over the phone or email but i feel this is too important to keep private - this is after all a discussion forum and its member have collectivly had £1000's stolen from thier bank accounts

i dont think it matters whether you are a small company or large one it is still YOUR responsibilty to notify the police and you should not delay any furhter - if some one had breached the security in a way where your company funds were plundered you would not hesitate would you?

you keep saying to notify the bank and they will sort it out as if you are washing your hands of the problem, its like saying dont worry the bank will pay - the fact remains me and lots of others trusted your site enough to give information that your promised not to share with anyone else!!

reading the posts it appears to me that this problem came to light much earlier in the week and yet you still do not know how it happened and still have not done the one thing which may have helped you find out and thats tell the police

i am sorry if this is stong but unless we hear something positive soon someone may have to ask the police to investigate you
  • My card issuer contacted me to verify some of the transactions on my account last week, after "full tilt poker" and some dodgy looking transactions appeared on my card.

My card issuer says they're covering the fraudulent transactions, which is good.

I only hope everyone else affected by Shop Neo's lax security is covered.

Oh well, won't be using them again...

Good luck to any other victims...
  • Well said louie, glad it's not just me who is a bit miffed by the "let the bank deal with it" attitude.

It would be a good idea if a mod could edit the thread title to make people who may not have received the letter aware of the problem, and compile some information maybe into one post on the first page?
  • This post has now been moved it sould stay on the main grabbit board to warn users.

there is a thread just been started on this issue which you'll find here

Grabbit isn't the right board to discuss these sort of issues which have now gone beyond the discussion of the original grabbit offer. I will close this thread now as the offer is over anyway and any further discussion on the problems you have encountered can be on the new thread mentioned above. Thanks.

Grabbit is for short term offers, the Warnings board is for warnings and their discussion so that is where the thread has been moved to.
