  • Hey Lil,

BIG HUGS, of course we haven't given up on you. I'm pleased your back, we missed you.

Really sorry to hear about work that sounds like a horrible experience. Good idea on going to the CAB and the job centre, its not easy but if it helps in any way it is worth it. Try looking at job hunting as job, do a 9-5 day with a lunch break. Register with recruiters, get them to help with your CV and just apply apply apply. Keep us up to date on here so we can spur you on.

Really good news that DD is enjoying high school and your allotment is producing thats really cool.

    How has your weekend been?

  • Hi Guys

Once again, I must start with an apology for not being on here for ages. I know that I have some really good friends on here but I felt so down, confused and skint and really couldn't face it :o

So, the good news....I have a job. It's only 16 hours a week but with tax credits and some help with the rent and council tax I am nearly bringing home as much as when I was busting my backside doing full time.

Debts are still pretty much in the same situation but as the most of it is with family then at least there's no interest added on.

Still going down to the allotments every weekend and counting the years until I will get one of my own. Not providing much now but still got a lot of preparing to do for next year.

DD still happy at school which is the biggest bonus and its her birthday next week. Main birthday present is paid for so thats something off my mind.

As I get paid cash for my wages I use that during the week for living expenses and then try and keep my tax credits in my account for direct debits. I have two tins now, one I put all my loose change in and the other I put my wages in and just dip into when I need something.

Still single, and this is probably the only time of year that I don't like it. The run up to Christmas. I'm really happy with my life now but it would be nice to have someone to snuggle up with and watch a film, other than DD lol.

Anyway, again I'm sorry for the absence again. I will try and update my debts shortly and catch up with all my subscribed diaries. I hope you're all still there guys.

    Take care.

    Lil

  • Hey Lil,

    So pleased you're back :)

Congrats on the job, thats great you've got the same-ish amount coming in for less hours. More time to spend with DD :)

Hope you're feeling less down and confused now? Anything us bunch can help you with???? At least the debts are less of a worry with no interest being piled on, less pressure I think.

Someone on the DFW board started a singles thread, go and have a read, might make you feel better. I'm still single too though some of the men I've met recently I'm begining to think its for the best, though it is tough in winter when someone to snuggle up to would be lovely.

    Hugs,

  • Hi Guys

LG - Thanks for the recommendation to the singles thread. Love it. Have sat and read through it all tonight and posted too.

To be honest I think it was just the job front getting me down but now I have had my tax credits sorted I can finally budget again and get back to my beloved spreadsheet.

I have been overspending just lately so need to get my head together. I'm hoping that I can spend tomorrow ebaying. I have a lot of DD's toys and games that she no longer wants to go on there and I think it would be the best time with Christmas around the corner.

Will check in tomorrow to let you know how I get on.

  • Bl**dy hell, I have just read through the first post I made on here, nearly a year to the day and have seen that I wanted to clear my debts by December 2014. Is that still achievable?? I really don't think so now that I am part-time. I am going to sit down later on and work out my debts, update my signature and go back to my beloved spreadsheet. Oh how I have missed it but I was too scared to update it!!

I am setting myself some goals for the start of next year though. By 1st January 2013 I intend to become smoke free. I'm not going to set it as my New Years resolution as I always break that. What I intend to do it to try and stop smoking before that. One for my health and two for my bank balance.

I also need to start eating better. I have a more energetic job now and I know I am not eating enough which means I have no energy to do anything and always feel fed up. I think I might have to get myself some vitamins tomorrow to help with this.

I feel like I have that christmas cloud hanging over me. I do have a couple of presents already but I don't have DD's yet. I really need some ideas!!

I am making today the last day of feeling sorry for myself and intend to come on here daily for my kick up the rear please!!

So it starts NOW. I'm going to go and get a shower and then get all my paperwork out, sort out my finances and that might make me feel a bit better. I get paid weekly now so I need to try and sort my dd's out as they were all at the beginning of the month and I know that last month was really really hard at the beginning of the month trying to get them all paid. I also really need to start paying my mum back as she is retired and doesn't get a lot of money now (shes really good at budgeting, where did it all go wrong) and I know that even though she isn't asking for it, she really could do with it. Even if it is only a payment a week, anything helps doesn't it.

Right, will update with my correct debt figure later.

  • Right, I'm done. Signature is updated and I'm sorry to say its a bit more that when I started this time last year. I feel sick.

I have signed up to the 20p savers and pay as much as you can in 2013 which should spur me on (I hope) with a goal of £2000.

I have struggled trying to sort my spreadsheet out as I now get paid cash weekly so I have added it all in a book and hopefully that will keep me on track.

I am going to take sandwiches to work with me tomorrow so I won't have to spend any money, leaving it all at home apart from money for fuel (and I have a voucher for that).

So, I'm back and feeling more positive than this morning.

    Take care.

    Hey Lil,

I've just caught up on your diary and well done on the job. That must be a relief, especially as you're not too out of pocket from part time and get to spend all that quality time with your daughter. Great news.

You look like you've just had a little slide off the wagon rather than a monumental fall so please see that it could have been so much worse. There must have been some control if you were really feeling down that you didn't double your debt. You still have the initial 2 figures, and that is something to be relieved about.

I guess it maybe shows that the bad times are when you really need to come on here. Lil, no one is judging you. We all have our own demons and can pull together and help each other out. When one person is down those that are up can help pull you, and vice versa. I know it's helped me. It's also good to write things down as, in some situations, I get bored with the whole subject when I go over it each day so being on here has stopped me falling down too hard and given me renewed focus. But I also know that we all face things in different ways and need to be true to ourselves.

Anyway, it's so lovely to see your name popping up in my subscriptions again. I've missed you and your updates. xx

    Hi MT

Thanks for the message. I guess you are right and I should stay on here even when I do feel down. I know there are some great people (friends) on here who would keep me going and cheer me up.

    Thanks again.
