Had my invite, been accepted, and filled in the pre-delivery survey. Any idea how soon we'll get the phones?

Really concerend about moving away from Android; everything is with google :) Been on android now for 2 1/2 years.

I emailed them asking if they knew roughly when they would be sending them out and I got this:

Dear Nokia Lumia 800 Study Member,

Thank you for your email.
Nokia will send out the notification emails when the devices are shipped. This should happen in the near future.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact our helpdesk at helpdesk.lumia800.uk@360meter.com.

Thank you for your co-operation!

Best Regards,
Nokia Lumia 800 Study Team

I know that they're being sent by DHL. Had to change my address as couriers have a little difficulty finding where I live so getting it sent to work - which they were okay with.

So they contacted/email you to confirm your address?

Too bad for me. Just got an email from them saying that the registration were accepted on a first come first serve basis. And on this occasion, I missed out.

Bad luck - maybe you will be selected for the Lumia 900? (like the 800 but with a 4.2" screen) :)

I contacted them when I received the confirmation of participation email as I've had trouble in the past with couriers not finding where I live (too many of them rely on satnav and don't think to phone to confirm where I am). They would be sending it to my home address, had I not written to them.

I think it depends on the type of OS too. For example, sarah1972 didn't register until the next day and she is still accepted. But she is using what I believe Symbian.

It will be a combination of factors - they will be looking for a mix of OSes, age range plus factors based on the data they collected from the apps already on our phones. So for example, I might in the category of users who never uses the camera on their phone, they will be interested to see if I (and others with a similar profile) make more use of the camera.

Of course the most important question is... where is my phone! ;-)
