Nielsen Android Panel - Nokia Lumia 800 invite

I'm loving this - I'm a SIM-only "what's the cheapest phone I can buy" type - so this (as it has for some other people) solved the "what shall I buy next problem".

I think this comes in Black, Blue and Red? Wonder if they are all the same or just a random mix?

Ooh I wonder what coulour we will all get, thats another thing to get excited about

I am hoping for Red but to be honest its a free phone so I wont be picky

I did notice it says this in the email so I wonder how long it will be before they start sending them out?

Good question, they come with a rubber cover as well, I've only seen a black one of those, but they might colour match them to the phone.

Quite a while as I would imagine a few people may think its a scam, when I called Orange to get my sim they said "are you sure its not a scam as I cant imagine you getting a lumia for free!"

I explained that I have been on the nielsen panel for years and it was part of that and the guy still wasnt convinced, he just said dont sign anything and dont be surprised if it doesnt come !

I guess everyone is eagerly awaiting their dispatch notice? :-) Anyone know how Nielson normally dispatches it's phones? UPS? Parcel force?

the pre-delivery survey email states that they wont be shipping the devices until the panel is completely filled. I think we receive one email advising us that the panel is full followed by a dispatch email.
on previous occassions of nokia nielsen mobiles, they were directly shipped from Nokia Finland through DHL. on their last nokia 701 project, they did not send a dispatch email though.

I too got accepted. I was in two minds whether to go for it though. I have had my Nokia N8 for just under a year now and some of the hardware which I enjoy seem to be missing from the Lumia. For instance I will be trading a 12mp camera for a 7mp and I don't think there is an FM transmitter either which is useful for streaming music over the car radio. I also think the windows Lumia doesn't do flash yet so youtube videos will be a no-no.
However I took the plunge as I'm frustrated with the Symbian operating system as it, on my phone at least, has been sluggish and error prone. For instance the "social" app is anything but as it fails to load more often than it does. Also since the Anna update my push mail has been sporadic.

So I decided a phone that is slick but with less features may suit me better than the feature packed phone that struggles to work!

Another thing that swung it for me was that I hoped by doing this panel I might be considered for future phone panels too. Has anyone here been offered multiple phones over time or is it only one phone per person?

It's more about being able to try Windows Phone 7 for me - my microsim has arrived from three, what's quite handy is that it comes with a caddy so that it will fit into a normal sim slot - so I can active it now, then simply remove the caddy when the 800 arrives.

Looking at previous Nielsen trial threads (N8 and 701) it takes a couple of weeks from the pre-delivery email to getting the phone, but those two hadn't been released at the time, whereas the Lumia 800 has.
