oh and i think if the government took more of a stance of letting foreigners into the country, doing jobs we could be doing then the country wouldnt need to be forking out so much in benefits!!!!!
An instance, my stepsons friend came round the other week, and sia dhe had rang an agency up about work...they asked him if he was polish, when he said no he was told he couldnt apply!!!!!
I am not a racist person in any shape or form, but do feel we need to take a leaf out of Australia's book and only have people who can do certain types of jobs!!!

We do have such a system.

But we also have freedom of movement within the EU. Personally, I admire people who move countries to find work and a more self-sufficient life. I can't imagine many unemployed Brits upping sticks and moving countries to find work because there isn't enough at home. We just go once we've retired, and ruin other people's housing markets just like we've ruined our own.

When i say about foreigners, i will rephrase and say in the last few years, and we all know it has got more common for the polish especially to come to this country to find work...thus having less jobs for our ever growing unemplyed youngsters.
At my husbands work, there is a polish man who has openly said he has come here to work, as he can earn so much more.....
Activley seeking work, no i havn't as i havnt needed to and dont need to even as of april, because my husband will be back to full hours by then (i am doing it because it is my choise now my youngest is 9), but i have tried god damn hard usually 5 out of 7 days to help my daugter find employment, she has no car, i have told her i am willing to help out....but still, the poor girl never hears anything back, and believe me we have both tried very very hard.
At the end of the day i came on here to let people know of a letter i received, to enable them plenty of time to help find work, not get into any arguements about who does what.....we all live different lives, walk different paths, my husband is a hard worker, and so are our 2 oldest, and my daughter will be once she leaves college and hopefully can gain a job in the industry she has chosen, i worked more than full time till i was 24, working 3 jobs between 16 and 21, then 2 jobs till i had my first child at 24, so i have no reason to feel bad about myself or anyone in my family...we will do, and have done our best.
I also mentioned about the lady with 7 children as i stated i was shocked at how much money someone in her case was getting, compared to someone who tried to keep earning and maintaning their own income.
We all chooose to do things differently, some mums choose to go back to work, and have relatives/friends/nannys look after their kids...thats their choice....i chose to have my kids and we could afford for me to stay at home, with me taking the odd part time job as and when we need a bit extra.
Once again this thread is about people who choose to work part time...and needing to make their hours up.

But what is the problem you have with that?! Wages are higher in Germany. Benefits are better, too. Jobs are more secure and employment rights are stronger. Why don't more Brits move there for the better opportunities? The same system allows them to.

This government have closed most immigration routes to the UK for non EUs: Australia is now easier to get into for non-EUs (unless they use the EU route).

One thing I do admire Australia for is that they have laws to ensure that the best person gets the job (doesn't have to be an Australian): as oppose to New Labours stance of filling quotas, regardless of whether they were the best candidate.
RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

I assume he couldn't speak German? Or he didn't get into Germany because of caps most western countries (except the UK) put on Eastern Europens entering their countries, when those countries joined the EU?

Other EU countries also have free university education, so why don't Brits and EEA nationals go to these countries............. the problem seems to be that you have to speak the language to study/ get a job. A lot of countries either have English as a first language or teach English, as English the business language of the EU. English seems to be the default language of most countries.

Hence why the UK and Ireland are the only EEA countries to have residency conditions put on those from the EU who want to study here and access home fee rates and government low rate, student loans.

An interesting article here about the cost to the UK of financing all the EU students:

Why on earth do you say that as if it's a bad thing; it's a completely praiseworthy thing to do.

People coming from other countries don't usually take jobs away from the British, they generally do the jobs that the British aren't prepared to do because they're better off on benefits.

To put this thread back of topic, low skilled EEA citizens have full access to working tax credits (and all other welfare payments).

Strangley, under EU laws, an EU citizen has more rights than the citizens of the country they are living in (and that includes Brits moving to another EEA country)!

I agree. The government won't admit that the reason why we have such a high unemployment rate in this country is because there are too many people coming to live here.

Sadly, your post comes across as such.

No agency in their right mind would state that someone couldn't apply, because they were not Polish.
Dear Lord, I am calling upon you today for your divine guidance and help. I am in crisis and need a supporting hand to keep me on the right and just path. My mind is troubled but I will strive to keep it set on you, as your infinite wisdom will show me the way to a just and right resolution. Amen.
