Hey Rosa, your Xmas sounds very much like my post Xmas - I was manic right up until Xmas day and then have done little but sleep and mooch around the house. Shame about the shoes - I actually prefer ordering online, that way I know there's less chance anyone has tried them on, and for places like Office that don't accept returns for sale items if you buy instore, you can still return (free) if you order online. It's a bit of a pain trying to find free delivery codes etc but overall I still think it's worth it.

Going to be a little devil on your shoulder now but I'd say keep the FatFace gillet. I bought 2 coats in their 1/2 price sale last year (well actually ended up at 4 by the time I'd bought one, bought it again when it went down in cost, then bought two others in diff colours)
I was only going to keep one overall because I thought the two were a bit similar but OH persuaded me to keep both (one grey down lined hooded jacket that wasn't michilin man style, and one green parka style jacket). Well I'm glad I did because i've worn both of them tons - and although I haven't worn the down one so much this year as it hasn't been so cold, it will do me for years and is like a toasty duvet when on.

Sorry...waffling on your thread now :o Happy Christmas and Happy New Year x :D

Thanks Kerri :) and happy new year to you . I think the gilet is probably staying - it's really cosy for just mooching in and I haven't seen anything else I want more.

Although I have just rather raided the Sainsbugs cookware sale and think I've done quite well :j:j. One cheeseboard with integral drawer and four matching knives, £7.50 instead of £25, one granite worktop wotsit £5.40 instead of £18, one white coffee jar with bag of coffee £3.60 instead of £12 (don't really need this for home as the filter coffee here lives in the fridge, but it will look better at work than my current jam jar and it works out to only about £1 more than the coffee would be). I have no idea why people would pay the original prices but the 70% off ones suit me very nicely!

Also a saute pan £22.50 instead of £45... my frying pan is getting icky and as I mainly use it for risotto, thought the saute pan would work nicely. Am trying to persuade myself that I don't really need a stockpot while they are only £19 instead of £40.

And I remembered to get stuff for work lunches so hopefully that will keep me out of trouble for this week.

It's certainly going well so far.

I decided not to go to a party last night, and went out to the cinema with a friend in the early evening instead. So was happily home mooching and reading and vaguely thinking about plans for the year.

I woke up at 4.30 with the light just beginning, a bird singing and one of the mogs purring, and realised that I am happy. It sounds a bit silly but it was lovely. I'm in a very different place now to where I was last year, and it's great. I really feel 2013 will be good.

It's a lovely feeling isn't it - although last time I had mog purring on the bed with me was right before she lept up to throw up all over the upstairs landing and spare room - kinda broke the tranquility but it was nice while it lasted :o

You know ... I was reading that & couldn't see the username as it was off the page and thought ... "bet that's Kerri" and it was! :D

Mr Mog has taken to sleeping in the spare room (there's an old duvet in there that I need to do something with and he's decided it's nice & warm) and he arrived at around 4am for a cuddle ...

 oh no I hope she's better and purring for you again!

My big mog is a gentle soul and has slept on my bed since the first day he arrived - he often shifts over in the night to lean on me and purrs til he falls asleep and snores instead!

I've finally found a food which seems to be helping with little mog's sensitive tum - she didn't settle on any of the grain free ones or the ones I tried her on for a couple of days or the first one from the vet... luckily I noticed that the second bag from the vet was different and that seems to have worked. Of course it's vastly expensive Royal Canin :/ but it's made a real difference in a few days. She's much calmer and there's less bouncing around the room at 4 am. So will keep her on that for at least a couple of months and then maybe try a little of other foods then. Being a little more chilled also seems to have lessened the intensity of debate over exactly who gets to sleep under the duvet or on my pillow :rotfl:

Mog is fine thanks Rosa - she was just a greedy gannet and wolfed her brekkie too fast after being out since about 5am (yes, she has her own personal butler service to let her out lol!) Consequently, what went down came back up again - fast! bleugh! Glad you've got little kits diet sorted, thankfully I'm lucky that our mog will eat anything - except what I buy in bulk or on offer and is exactly the same as she had the day before :rotfl:

Rising - what can I say except you know me too well :o (either that or 'get out from behind my sofa! :rotfl:)

I'm never normally on here at this time in the morning... am quite often still under the duvet at this time in the morning... but just wanted to say YAY FOR MSE :j:money::A

Thanks to yesterday's proofing email via FB, I knew about the Premier Inn room sale and I just booked 3 nights for £79 instead of the 2 nights for £145 I nearly paid two days ago! :T:T

It did help that I noticed there are two hotels very close by so I also saved £25 by booking the first two nights in one and the third in the other. I haven't even decided which nights I'm definitely going yet, it may only be 2 out of the 3, but at less than half the usual price it was worth booking anyway just in case.

    Happy bunny :)

Bluddy mogs are costing me a fortune. £32 on 48 pouches of sensitivity food for little mog. She will only be getting half one a day at that price and dry the rest of the time, but it will keep her happier in the evenings. She thinks it's desperately unfair that big mog is getting wet food and she isn't, but is generally hungry enough in the morning to eat her dry stuff immediately anyway. I already have oodles of stuff big mog can eat, both wet and dry... but of course this now means I have to supervise mealtimes so that she doesn't defeat the point by eating his food, and he doesn't cost me extra by eating hers. :/

Went to Sainsbugs for a few bits and did buy myself a stockpot - used the saute pan last night and am impressed with the quality so decided would have it while half price at £19. I don't really have a justification so am wondering whether to use my Christmas M&S vouchers on food, so effectively compensate and count it as a Christmas gift. Tempted by the 3 pan set but will ignore til pay day at least. Most of the smaller sale stuff had gone by now but there seemed to be quite a lot of the bigger cookware so hopefully it will still be there by then.

Also managed to find a 200 thread cotton fitted sheet with 1/3 off so under £11 - so that was quite handy too. Makes 3 full sets of bedding and I can now cope if there are any moggie related or other disasters which screw up the washing arrangements!

No other spends... picked up book from library today and am so pleased I've started going, it will save me a fortune.

And must go and use the reasoning tests books I collected!

Unplanned NSD... as been asleep for most of it!

Not quite sure how but went back to bed after feeding the moggies and woke up 5 hours later... texted a couple of people and read a chapter of reasoning test book, woke up another 4 hours later!

Fortunately I didn't have anything I needed to do, and I do believe sleep really helps with both physical and mental health. My skin is improving rapidly and is better than it has been in 2 years (since the MSc got complicated, probably not coincidence) and I am feeling a whole lot better in general. Now that little mog's tummy troubles are getting better hopefully that sleep issue will be fixed too! So just need to educate myself into going to bed on time.

After the tests I will sort out some goals for this year. I think the first three months I want to focus on my skin and healthy eating, plus doing the last few things in organising the flat. After that I want to look at doing more exercise and going out more.

I've found an art course I would really like to do, but it's a full weekend and I think I would end up really tired. So instead of doing it anyhow - notice, I am learning - am going to email and ask if they run it later in the year so that I can take some leave to compensate. And I think I could pay for it out of the holiday fund, as it sort of is.
