Of course it was. That was interest on your money they otherwise wouldn't be earning.RosaBernicia wrote: »Fowkers.

This annoys me so much - they keep saying that they have to increase the dd to take into account the yearly usage and whilst I know we've still got the coldest months to come and my heating has been on for the last couple of months I'm still £106 in credit. I'm going to leave it till the next review and see how things have panned out then.
Good news about your credit though and it's come at the best time of yearIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
I'm not going to start on the 'we need to increase your direct debit' saga because I'll only get distracted into cursing BTw**s. I used to have a row with them every 3 months until I switched.
Still feeling rotten but at least a bit better than before. I haven't been managing to eat properly in the evenings, never mind sort out lunch for work, so this week's budget has been hit by unnecessary sandwiches. At least it's an exception - though it's interesting to notice since I was rubbish at both all the time I was running around doing too much.
Am fed up with work, but at least not bored any more as working on new things. Exactly what they expect from me still hasn't been clarified so I have just told the person in question that we will need to have another conversation about it.
Thinking of using my time off over Christmas to do some thinking about what next. As I still have debt to pay off, I should really not jump out of a safe job until I've got rid of or majorly reduced it. But that will happen soon and then all sorts of possibilities will open up

*sigh* I think they're all as bad as each other for this ...... just been through the same with mine - despite my account balancing out over the year (with a small credit) they still tried to put mine up by 80% ... oh, but it's OK as it's only "for 3 months" to cover the colder months

Thanks Rising, I'm feeling much brighter today.
Cleared the washing up backlogand a stack of accumulated paperwork, and remembered to book little mog in for her second vaccination. She will be delighted to go outside and I will be delighted if it works off some of her energy - atm she goes exploring the house at 3am and has so far pulled washing down on herself, yanked a decoration off the blinds and almost got stuck in the bathtub :rotfl:. She is getting to be more relaxed though and is turning out to be a sweet little soul - she's usually near me and happy to curl up on the bed or sofa next to me.
I've just joined the Pets@ loyalty scheme which donates money to the shelter the moggies came from when I shop there. Which I don't very often, because Zoo+ are cheaper for most things - but hopefully they will send me offers
I have £25 left til payday on Thursday so will be making risotto tonight that will also cover lunch tomorrow, and not doing anything expensive on the weekend!

Well am officially over budget today  as I gave in and ordered the cat's stuff today on the credit card, to be repaid on payday.
Little mog saw a much nicer vet today who didn't try to sell us everything they had, and understood that the trip in itself is stressful for her. She's put on weight in the three weeks between and is nearly up to normal :T. Of course they recommended a vastly expensive and cereal based 'prescription' diet for her, as her tummy still isn't right, but when I asked how it would be possible to separate the effects of stress versus food the vet suggested trying Feliway. Which is another £15 at Zooplus...but I needed to order another litter tray anyhow so have put it all together and got some cheaper grain-free dry food for 2/3 off by using a voucher they sent me for a survey. Also paid out £18 at the vet's for worming stuff. Am concluding that owning pets is like owning a car... nobody warns you about the paperwork and running expenses :rotfl:
Anyway was really really pleased that little mog recognised when we got home and instead of spending 2 days in hiding, she hung around to be fussed when I opened her carrier and then slept next to me on the sofa all afternoon.
I am still feeling better but weirdly all I want to do is sleep. Literally sleep, not have a lie-in or do nothing. So as that's what my body wants and for the first time in years that's OK... because I have nothing else that needs doing more... that's what I've done. The mogs let me sleep til 1030, and I curled up on the sofa after we got back from the vets and sparked out for 4 hours. But am still planning on going to bed early. Am hoping this is all part of my body readjusting to not being a workaholic stressbucket.
No other news... should get out for a coffee tomorrow, and it's little mog's first day allowed in the garden

Hope you're feeling more refreshed now and glad that little mog is feeling more at home. I love the idea of her sleeping beside you all afternoon. Makes me feel sad for our kitties that we had to give away...then I remember that in the 3 days we had them they cost me nearly £200 and like you say it is very similar to owning a car - good analogyIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0

Ohhhhh know that feeling all too well! DM phoned Thurs night to say she was visiting on Fri - and did I want to see if I could get big cat booked in at vet (his booster's overdue as I haven't been able to take him)..... success but purse is £50+ lighter now! (or rather c/c is £50 heavier - to be paid when the bill comes in of course!)
Also signed up for the P@H scheme - was a bit annoyed that the local charity I did want to sign up for wasn't an option and then there were 2 other local ones (but more well known so I try to go for the really small one IYKWIM) were both there so didn't know which to choose!RosaBernicia wrote: »Anyway was really really pleased that little mog recognised when we got home and instead of spending 2 days in hiding, she hung around to be fussed when I opened her carrier and then slept next to me on the sofa all afternoon.Awwwwwww

Cats don't eat cereal. Cats eat meat. They are obligate carnivores. We had a related problem in the 80s when we fed cows (who are obligate herbivores) meat. It never ends up well feeding creatures something they're not designed to take, just because someone is making money from it.RosaBernicia wrote: »Am concluding that owning pets is like owning a car... nobody warns you about the paperwork and running expenses :rotfl:
Ahem! Twice! As my Dad used to say, "if it's got bricks, wheels or a skirt - your hand will never be out of your pocket".Pets will cost. They will cost more than you estimate. You need to have your plans take account of this fact.:p:p:p:p
I suppose it's now "bricks, wheels, a skirt or fur..."RosaBernicia wrote: »Anyway was really really pleased that little mog recognised when we got home and instead of spending 2 days in hiding, she hung around to be fussed when I opened her carrier and then slept next to me on the sofa all afternoon.

If it's part of the transition, it's a good part.
Either that, or you really are turning into your cats... :eek:RosaBernicia wrote: »No other news... should get out for a coffee tomorrow, and it's little mog's first day allowed in the garden

I've done not much but sleep today either
including past the time I was supposed to be going out for coffee so that's been postponed!
Little mog has only just now gone across the garden and come back. She sat and looked at it from the open door this morning but obviously didn't feel brave enough to explore further... and while I was sitting by the open door wrapped in a furry throw I fell asleep again :rotfl: and we both spent another 4 hours snoozing on the sofa!
Having finally got the summer clothes into underbed storage thing done, now I am attempting to sort out mp3s. I thought I had successfully copied stuff to my phone's SD card, except it only copied the folders not their contents... and for some reason Amazon Cloud Player doesn't think I've bought stuff in the last few monthsthis could be a rather expensive mistake
. Going to try and at least get my old stuff onto the phone and worry about the rest later.
