I can just image the scene of you explaining all this, and your cat going "If you like it so much, then you use it..."

I suspect that's a pretty good translation of the tail-flick as he walked off.

  • Late out of work  though at least it is the first time in ages. Also still have paper to write for a meeting tomorrow and which involves an early start :( but this is partly my own fault, I was wiped when I came in and gave in to curling up on the sofa. Woke up 2 hrs later lol.

There are going to be implications around lovely manager leaving, which could either mean I pick up some of her responsibilities and potentially actually get paid for them - gasp - or just that things get passed elsewhere and I carry on as planned. Either of those is OK with me, but I've already told them I can't and won't do everything at once without a) recruiting some more help and b) recognition for it. Interestingly, the director is quite keen for me to take things on while usually-lovely manager thinks there's nothing required. Hmmm. Either she is very right to jump before any risk of redundancy, or she's expecting the directors to pick up something that isn't really appropriate. Will be interesting to see how this works out. However, no bother for me either way as I have interesting stuff to work on and am OK where I am otherwise.

£3 on cleaning stuff today, all part of the general tidy up. And another £3 ish on posting cards and small pressie to friends.

Am enjoying finding that even though I've ended up late home etc, there are no drastic consequences... it just means the clothes sorting will happen another day :). I have a vague goal of getting the summer clothes tidied away by the 20th as that's the last part of the general tidying, and would give me a week's break before I buy the scanner on payday and move on to the paper cull.

Little moggie has worn her harness again with no bother, bless her, so should be able to let her explore the garden on the lead at the weekend :).

You can't expect it never to happen, just like I can't expect to get in late *every* day... ;)

    Choc! Horreur!

Not for Chinese versions of "interesting" I hope...

    • Think am going to need to keep a second litter tray if I'm going to have friends feed the moggies when I go away for a couple of days in December. The mogs will be OK, but the friends in question don't have pets or children so may not volunteer again if asked to deal with litter trays. So may buy a second one. Am thinking of getting one of the little cupboard-style ones from Zoo+ as that looks a whole lot nicer than the hooded ones and I already have a tray that would fit. It is about £25 more than a plain plastic one, but would look better in the long term... dither...

Darn it .... don't suppose you're anywhere near Edinburgh?

I've just had to buy a new open one (https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4270331) and have shoved 2 huge covered ones up my loft.

Def want to keep one as I do have to occasionally separate my 2 for fighting  - and also for those that occasionally pop in to feed mine when I'm away (also don't think they'd do the litter tray cleaning bit) ..... but would've happily given you the 2nd one.....

Just that the directors should have other things to do than the managers (well I think) so passing on management to them isn't ideal.

If they had watches, they really wouldn't get away with 'mistakenly' waking me up 2 hours early for their breakfast :rotfl:

:rotfl: I doubt it - poor moggie just ran away from harmless visiting friend, think she's a bit too scaredy for sky diving!

Aw thanks Rising :A ... I may be in Edinburgh in a few week's time, but it's a long train journey away so probably not ideal for tray transporting!

I have a similar issue re. cat sitters and litter trays, may have to recalculate next time I'm away!

  • Pfffft :mad::(

I have a cold and an ear infection (though fortunately either the painkillers kicked in or it improved at about 2am).

I still haven't sorted my clothes storage, but I did get rid of a bookcase yesterday so there is more space in the bedroom - passed it to a friend on 'long term loan' ie. he was looking for one so can have mine unless/ until I move and need it.

Work appear to think that I'm going to accept everything they throw at me as usual. But since everybody including the HR guy agree that what they are asking is essentially unfair, this time I shall be making a stand. It's an interesting feeling and I keep having to kick away unhelpful mental snippets of how my dad would accuse me of arrogance for assuming that I deserve something. I'm not assuming, I have plenty of evidence, and I'm not asking for any different treatment to anyone else - just fairness.

Decided all I really want to do tonight is soak in the bath and read, so that's what I've darn well done/ will do.

Then later or tomorrow I shall be working on a job application. For the same training scheme as last year, only now I know that the reason they didn't interview me then is because they only count the MSc if you've finished it. And as I'm fed up with work at the current place, I have nothing to lose by trying again.

MSE wise I ended up in Waitrose yesterday but only about £35 and that included stocking up on sensible things.

Thinking of finally going to the local library tomorrow so that's an MSE thing :D

Or you got too tired to be bothered with pain any more.

Is it desperate? Then wait until you're better.

It's not a case of arrogance. It's not really a case of thinking you deserve something. It's a case of standing your ground and not putting yourself last.

And you'll be having bleating on about how you're being unfair to them because *they'll* have to solve a problem just because you're not bending over and taking it.

    Sideways.

    You're darning as well? Multi-tasking... ;)

You've nothing to lose by trying in any instance.

That may be good for Waitrose, but if you shopped at Aldi... ;)

"Sensible things"? Or is the operative word "stockings"?

I must be very MSE - I think about doing loads of stuff... ;)

Hm, see this is the bit they're not accustomed to.

    Neither am I. :rotfl:

But on the principle of better late than never, I think it's about time I tried it.

  • to electric companies.

The barstewards at my last one have just sent me a final bill which demonstrates that I am IN CREDIT by more than a month's bill. Despite having had the heating on for the month in question. So it wasn't really necessary for them to up my direct debit by 50%, was it?

    Fowkers.

Still, am glad I took a deal with no exit fee and am now fixed til 2014.

And the credit will come in handy next month.
