Thanks Nora
Well today I have closed two accounts that are no longer needed and am about to close the cleared CC. Debated keeping it for work expenses but no real need and closing it will both remove temptation and hopefully improve my credit rating. Fed up with Nationw1de as their security involves twice as many personal numbers as anyone else's and every time I want to do something strange, like ooh, resetting a PIN or closing an account, they insist I go to the branch. Which is annoying when you work full time and are trying to stay out of the city centre on a Saturday. So they've just lost my custom
Also emailed N0ddle with an email confirmation from the council that I am so on the electoral roll - so hoping that will improve the offers available. If I can clear the OD and now-smallest CC in another few months, then I will look at shifting the remaining CC2 to a lower interest card since by then my credit rating should be better.
And paid for pet insurance up front, after finding out that the monthly option involved a credit agreement - interest free which is good, but still don't really want another on my record so have just paid it instead. Must also call mobile company and give notice on contract so I can swop to G1ffG4ff.
In other news, had v annoying day at work - have been off sick for a whole day after taking the bank hol week as leave for family event - got nagged into going in yesterday pm despite not actually being properly recovered - and it appears nothing has been done on project in my absence leading to rubbish minutes presented at meeting today and person paid two grades more than me begging me to get well and come to meeting since she didn't know what was happening. Peeved  much as I'd like to believe I'm indispensable, the place shouldn't fall apart in 4 days without me
Still, am surprisingly unstressed by it and seem to have managed to just go 'work, pah!'

Is that much better?RosaBernicia wrote: »In other news, had v annoying day at work - have been off sick for a whole day after taking the bank hol week as leave for family event - got nagged into going in yesterday pm despite not actually being properly recovered - and it appears nothing has been done on project in my absence leading to rubbish minutes presented at meeting today and person paid two grades more than me begging me to get well and come to meeting since she didn't know what was happening. Right now, take indepensibility as a welcome bonus.
But next time, don't allow yourself to be nagged to go in. If they want you, they can reschedule.RosaBernicia wrote: »Still, am surprisingly unstressed by it and seem to have managed to just go 'work, pah!'

Actually I have to take back the not-stressed bit
. Just realised that I've been up since 6 and food intake has consisted of a bacon roll at 9am plus four mini doughnuts at 4pm, two squares of chocolate and a bag of Frazzles at 8pm. Now sitting down eating cereal before bed, though feeling distinctly off-colour again. If I still feel carp tomorrow morning I won't be going in. Already texted friend about probably dropping out of event tomorrow night.
The cat has of course been fed twice, fussed and played with... I may have to start benchmarking the me-care against the cat-care. :rotfl:
However, at least I'm angry at work for nagging me instead of worrying that I should somehow have done it all... so that might be progress.

Even *my* diet isn't that bad...
Eat properly tomorrow...RosaBernicia wrote: »Now sitting down eating cereal before bed, though feeling distinctly off-colour again.
What? You mean the bucketloads of fast-acting high-impact carbs are giving you a good kicking? No - surely not.RosaBernicia wrote: »If I still feel carp tomorrow morning I won't be going in. Already texted friend about probably dropping out of event tomorrow night.

Yes, or we'll be making you eat the more nutritious cat food, and the cat can become Psychofreakedoutcat on the crap you're ingesting...RosaBernicia wrote: »However, at least I'm angry at work for nagging me instead of worrying that I should somehow have done it all... so that might be progress.

:rotfl: fair point. His no-cereal 80% meat kibble and no-additives fish tins are probably healthier than anything I ate today.
Not sure I'd want to see him on MSG though :eek:It is.
:grouphug: oh good.
Slowly, but heading in the right direction

Am wiped out
probably due to not sleeping or eating properly all week. So have had (comparably) early nights Thur and last night, and will be doing naff all this weekend except eat, sleep and study. Already spoke to friend to explain my presence at birthday do will be both late and short.
Must call to close CC as missed their opening hours the other night... another reason to stick with banks/ b socs set up for 24hr access. Have replaced £100 in the holiday fund after receiving funds from mum, and also put aside the money to go to relative so can now just about see where my account is at again. It looks about on track for what I'd estimated and I can't think of anything major I need between now and payday.
Am beginning to feel like paydays are not so far apart as they used to be. Is this MSE progress, or just age?

Only probably?RosaBernicia wrote: »So have had (comparably) early nights Thur and last night, and will be doing naff all this weekend except eat properly, sleep and study.
There - fixed it for you.
Honestly, your cat is going to start cooking you a decent meal when you get in if you don't watch out...RosaBernicia wrote: »Already spoke to friend to explain my presence at birthday do will be both late and short.

Even ones with 24 hour access may not close an account. You often get referred to "Retentions" before they'll willing close the account. Saying you want to leave because they "are a pustule on the left nut of Satan" does not tend to get them to give you loads of special offers...RosaBernicia wrote: »Am beginning to feel like paydays are not so far apart as they used to be. MSE progress. Age just gets you waiting outside the Post Office at 7:10am..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Feeling much brighter after a good relaxed weekend - all caught up on chores and still enjoying clearing out stuff to maximise space in tiny flat
Balance transfer not quite through to CC yet but they have confirmed it is en route so definitely the right account.
Treated myself in TK Max... bought a saucepan as one died - very impressed with that make and will look for more; cocktail glasses as I want to be able to make my favourite at home... now I just have to track down the ingredients and a cocktail shaker, since oddly nowhere local seems to have them; and returned cocoa/ cinnamon shakers today as suddenly realised I could retrain an old spices jar. Failed to save money in the process though as exited with very pretty towels - not a disaster as needed an extra anyway and they go very well with my room and bathroom - and a cute water bottle, which hopefully will mean I drink more when travelling.
Sold another item on Amaz0n but yet again didn't get the first notification email, only the one saying I was late dispatching  so that is five days late going. Is another box out of the house, even it's only about £4 profit and if I get moaning about the timing will refund that.
It's a week to payday and I think I will probably be within estimate, as only major expense will be cat vacc.
Soooo that should take the debts to safely below about £9,500 and as there is quite a bit in the savings pots at the moment, net status to below £9K :j looking forward to payday

Forgot to say, have now paid off over 13% of original debt :j will be over 16% on payday.
Interest bill also reduced as from now on, about 20% of my total payments will be interest down from 23% since I bothered working it out (and I think I'm too scared to look at earlier). Hopefully the balance transfer will get this down even further.
Ordered a GiffGaff SIM card and must call Yodafone to cancel contract. Will also look at electric direct debit when I get the next bill.
What else moneysaving related... oh, discovered Quidco do 5% cashback for Pets at Homeso might make use of that, especially as they also do free delivery for bigger orders.

My local(ish) Sainsbury had one. Have you tried yours?RosaBernicia wrote: »and returned cocoa/ cinnamon shakers today as suddenly realised I could retrain an old spices jar. BHS have a "more than 50%" sale on towels. I was very good, as there's a limit as to how many white egyptian-cotton towels a person should own...RosaBernicia wrote: »- and a cute water bottle, which hopefully will mean I drink more when travelling.
I don't follow the logic on that one...RosaBernicia wrote: »Forgot to say, have now paid off over 13% of original debt :j will be over 16% on payday.
