Hello lovely Rosa,
I've just caught up on your diary and am really thrilled that you've got yourself an allotmentI'm going to go up mine tomorrow to do some weeding and till over some of the ground ready for my seedlings and tatties that I'm chitting. I'm really looking forward to getting out in the sunshine. I've missed a week of it by being on a course this week, but next week I'm working from home again so an hour each evening should be doable.
Congrats on taking the dresses back that weren't absolutely fabulous and well done on working out your total debt and finding it's less than when you decided to move house. I know you were worried about it, so that's brill
Hope you have a lovely, relaxing easter break and enjoy the fabulous sunshine xxDiary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

I loved the first course but am feeling I've fallen behind since and am already frustrated with having less than an hour a week access to actually practice on the pole - it just isn't enough to get things into my brain. It might be just me - I had exactly the same problem with learning to drive. My tutor was hoping to get a studio set up which would have allowed more sessions and solved the problem, but that's fallen through for the moment and the only alternative is to also go to another class of hers in the week. As work is only going to get more silly over the next couple of months, I'm thinking of putting the idea on hold for a bit. By the time I've paid for the class, the parking and a coffee because it's not worth going home between work and class it works out to about £15 a go which is too much if I'm getting fed up - it was supposed to be just fun.
Just catching up with your posts, shame you're not enjoying pole class - remind me how long you've been going? (sorry, I kinda joined your thread half way through) I only have the hr class a week and (after 4yrs) have good and bad weeks and times where I can't remember what I've previously learned, but then you get a breakthrough on a move that you've been working on for months and its such a great feeling.RosaBernicia wrote: »Have eaten rubbish and drunk hardly anything at work the last couple of days - really need to sort out stocking up with healthy food to take in - and try to eat breakfast at home(am becoming embarrassed that some people sort out kids before they get to work, whereas I am still at teenage stage of dragging self out of bed late and scarfing breakfast at my desk

Personally I don't think there's anything wrong in scarfing brekke at your desk, I've done it for years - a) I'm carp first thing in the morning and can only just about coordinate my hair straighteners, b) I feel physcially sick if i try to eat when I've just got up.

Hi Kerri GT
I guess I've done about 12 weeks of pole class now, interrupted here and there. Am dithering now as do kind of want to stick at it, so will just see how it goes... on the one hand it is just for a laugh, on the other I get antsy about doing stuff badly!
I salute your ability to co-ordinate straighteners in the morning... I still haven't figured them out at any time which is why my hair is only straight once every 3 months when the hairdresser does it so I can see how much it's really grown... the rest of the time it just has to stay curly!

Hello to you too lovely Kerri DFW :T
I am also thrilled about the allotment though right now wondering what on earth I've let myself in for. Have been over there today for a couple of hours and dug over a miniscule patch in one corner - it's covered in grass, I swear the burdock roots I've dug out are at least two years growth and there are more stones in there than in the patch I dug at the house, which hadn't been cultivated for ages! So I have been literally digging a spadeful and fishing the roots and rocks out, repeat. I'll just keep at it - if I go back tomorrow I should be able to finish space for the rhubarb and then I'll just keep going. I think I'd probably better take black sacks to put down and keep the weeds under control until I get seedlings ready - will also sort my mini greenhouse in the next couple of days and get some going.
Not much sunshine here though and I'd actually be glad of more rain - it's forecast for Monday so will hopefully get my little corner of digging finished tomorrow and then have the weekend to catch up on reading

Hey Rosa, 12 weeks (esp if interrupted) really isn't a long time at all so don't beat yourself up if you aren't throwing out all the tricks yet (frankly, I'd be amazed if you were, unless you come from a gymnastic background). Moves take time to learn and it needs focus (some weeks I have more than others :rotfl:) but the learning process should also be fun.
btw, regarding my straighteners, a) wish I had hair with a curl to it b) i have 'straightened' my ear on more than one occasion
Allotment sounds amazing, even if it needs a lot of work - it will be doubly satisfying when you get it how you want it though.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Hello,
is there perhaps a kindly & enthusiastic chap at your allotments who likes playing with a rotivator ?
Failing that, plant potatoes everywhere
Enjoy your time off

I'm like that too. Usually I just skip breakfast though - which is very naughty...RosaBernicia wrote: »I guess I've done about 12 weeks of pole class now, interrupted here and there. It's a LAUGH. Who cares if it isn't perfect, so long as you LAUGH.

Hello all
Kerri G and Z, re pole classes it is fun in some ways but is getting more frustrating as we go on to new moves when I don't feel I've properly learnt the first lot. The last few weeks I feel like I'm spending more time getting annoyed that I can't do things than enjoying messing about. Still haven't decided on what to do so think I will go on Tuesday as it's paid for, then see how I feel.
Lula, I could ask around for a rotavator - somebody did come over yesterday and mention that he has something similar and I'm not sure if he expected me to ask (before you start, he was definitely well outside my age bracket) but I didn't feel I should ask when had only been speaking for 2 mins. Also, because I didn't know I had the plot I have no seedlings going and I'm going to start them off at home, so I have some time to dig while things get going. Plus, friends have volunteered help and one may even be coming over tomorrow.
I've had a fabulous dayslept late, then went to meet friend for a coffee at the local shops. Which meant I walked there and back, saving £3 on bus fare and getting exercise. Also meant I wasn't exposed to Lush or Hotel Chocolat
. Picked up a couple of bits in the Co-op - managing to only buy what I really needed as I have ALL WEEK off and can go to the shops whenever I like - and bought a rather fab shirt in one of the charity shops. It doesn't do up over the bust, as usual, but is a fab shape and colour so looks great layered over a cami or scoop T - and at £15 I think that's a bargain. Also only bought coffee - seems silly buying cake when had some so close at home :rotfl: and visited the lovely local bike shop. Unfortunately it looks like something that will last years, cope with potential occasional commuting, transporting stuff to allotment, and also keeping up with mountain bike mate on paths will cost me a couple more months 'holiday' money. But am coming to think that this would be a really good investment if it gets me exercise and exploring - and there is a rather fabulous ruby red one which caught my eye in the shop
They offer test runs, so will fix a weekend with mountain bike mate and try out a couple on the side streets. (This is especially a good plan as I've now realised I haven't really ridden a bike in about 15 years  :rotfl:.)
Didn't make it to the allotment as it was later than I expected when I got back. But I have now tidied and reshuffled the garden so it's almost completely sorted :j - the chimenea has been moved and so has the mini greenhouse, so now it all works better - pot herbs right by the door, then table and chairs, chimenea by those, greenhouse over the other side so less visible. The back is still a mess but improving. I think I may have to fork out for the garden waste bin subs thoas I don't see how else I'm going to subtly dispose of the butchered leylandii
Mini greenhouse is now all set up with its trays and ready to have seeds sown in there in the next couple of days :j which might be just as well since I think the squirrels have been at the pots I seeded and put on the steps
I have also decluttered two crates remaining from the move today and yesterday, stuff is now organised in sensible places and crates relocated to the garden :j and the house looks much better for it. Listed a couple of things on Amazon but can't yet face the Ebay bag, that will have to wait until garden and bike and allotment are sorted.
Soooo - not an NSD but quite a sensible spending day and all going good :T

Are they not sequences of moves? So when you learn new ones, you practice old ones too?RosaBernicia wrote: »bought a rather fab shirt in one of the charity shops. It doesn't do up over the bust, as usual,

OK...what's a scoop T?
