Avoiding tmobile voicemail charges?
Is there anyway around tmobile's voicemail charges?
I don't get a signal in my home, and get quite a lot of work related calls, which usually means voicemails. I also sometimes have to listen to these more than once to catch any details.
On my latest bill I was charged about £8 just for voicemail use - considering I'm on a £15 contract I'm not too chuffed I have to pay so much for it, so would love to know if there's anyway around it (apart from leaving the network.)

Ahh, so I can pay £2.13 a month for an unlimited voicemail booster.
Not very helpful when I have no idea if I'm going to get more than £2.13's worth each month.0 -
If you call your own mobile number, that'll also connect you, and should be included in your mins. (Well, it used to be, anyway!)I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0

Depending on what phone you have and if you have a data allowance, you could try Hullomail.
This is an app which works on android phones (and maybe other phones too). This diverts your unanswered calls to Hullomail, who then send you an email notifying you of the message. You can listen to the message as an mp3 attachment to the email, or use the app to go directly to the message which will then be stored on your phone so you can listen to it as often as you want. As the program uses the internet connection to download the messages, it will be covered by your data allowance or you can just use wifi. You can also access your messages from a computer.
I use it as I find it better than the Orange answerphone system, and it does not affect my minute allowance.0 -
WARNING!!!!!
DO NOT use HulloMail if you are on T-Mobile!
HulloMail diverts incoming calls to a standard rate 03xx number for people to leave messages, however T-Mobile charge out-of-bundle rates for diverted calls. All other networks allow diverted standard/mobile calls to come out of the customers allowance, but NOT T-Mobile.I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. If you or your family have another phone (needs to be on a network with a good home signal) with surplus minutes, set up a voicemail pin on your t-mobile phone. Use the other phone to access your voicemail - you can automate the process by using pauses in the calling sequence.0

is this a recent change, I used hullomail on t-mobile about 3 months ago and the 0345 diverted calls came out of my inclusive minutes0 -
Have been using Hullomail with T-Mobile for months and never once incurred a charge for using Hullomail....A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A
If you find my posts useful, "pay it forward" and help someone else out, that's how places like MSE can be so successful.0 -

Hullomail did not cost me for the voicemail being left through it - but when you want to retrieve the message and listen to it - then the minutes came out of the contract allowance. But you can listen to the voicemail free through the email or their web site.
I gave up in end on T-mobile - had two accounts, moved main number away due to the t-mobile voicemail charges and their data reception being bad in my area. With talkmobile now (who use vodafone network) - free voicemail and fast internet even on 2g. :-)0 -
I suspect this may depend on how old the contract is. I started a new (web n walk) plan in September and alerted by posts on this forum I conducted a test call diverted to a geographical number. Sure enough it cost 26p plus vat.
To 'a' geographic number or specifically to the hullomail geograpic number?0
