Hi DFSD - I can't believe your DS is nearly 2 - where does the time go :-) You are right, he won't have any understanding of what it is all about but will love his big boy's bedroom.
I need to get back on the ebay band wagon - I am not sure what is left that isn't bolted down. I definitely need to have a declutter but I don't think there is anything of any value. I also have some DVDs that the inlaws gave me, but they aren't worth much at all.
Hope you are feeling brighter this week :-)Just keep swimming!0 -
Hi itsadogslife, nice to hear from you x
The DVDs have sold reasonably well locally, even though music magpie offered only pennies. We're lucky that we have an online notice board setup at work so it's quite easy to sell unwanted items that way. I've also sold a couple on amazon do it may be worth you taking a look there to see if any are worth something.
I know what you mean about eBay! I thought i'd got rid of everything I could/we wanted to, but then I went up into the loft and put my 'be brutal' shoes on! I now look at things and ask myself 'if we were moving house, would I really want to pack and take it with me?' if the answer's no, it gets ebayer, passed on or charity shopped!
I just noticed your signature. That's heck of an achievement in less than two years, reducing your debt by so much. Amazing stuff, well done!0 -
Cheers lovely, however the bottom has just fallen out of my master plan as OH was made redundant this week
He is being ever the optimist (if anything a little laid back for my liking), and is seeing it as an opportunity to get a job with a higher salary
When are you planning to be DF, is it November this year?Just keep swimming!0 -
Oh no, so sorry to hear that, that's rotten news.
It's good that he's taken the positive view on it though, I really hope the desired outcome materialises quickly with a higher paid position.
The plan is to be debt free in November, but realistically I think we may still have some debt left on credit cards by then. It totally depends on how well my little business does this year, but finding the time to spend working on it is really tough at the moment.0 -
Sold some unwanted books locally for £18 this morning, a few more left to sell, hopefully.0

God, it's a long month.
Everything is proving to be hard work at the moment as we're so tired. Ds has not been sleeping well at all for the last 4 weeks or so. We also think his reflux has returned slightly which could explain the poor sleep. I've not taken him back to the dr yet as we're really reluctant to put him back on, but we'll see how it goes.
We're still hovering at the £200 overdrawn Mark, but have had to use the credit cards lots this month. We've definitely added to our debt this month. :0(
I've been ebaying, amazoning and selling unwanted stuff locally, which has helped a bit.
The business has hit a stumbling block too. I'd just uploaded lots of new designs and got lots of enquiries, then my heat press (for printing) has failed. It's under warranty but it's still going to cost me to send it away for repair. It also means massive delays on selling anything. There's always something.
On top of that, my mum is really poorly in hospital again.

Your life is never dull, is it?
You have much on your plate as usual. I can tell how important the business is to you and it must be frustrating to be held back. I hope things get on track soon and the money sorts out the short term shortfall in cash. Very promising that you had customer interest in the new designs so soon.
Not much to report here at all. I definitely don't have your energy right now. Like a lot of people, I find January and February hard going after the excitement of Christmas. There are good things happening, though. Work has got a bit busier so I feel more optimistic on that front and it is more interesting when I am fully occupied. I am trying to keep some of the fitness stuff going by attending classes and, when it is not icy, running. Not doing much is at least cheap

Thank both x
Well, it's 5am and apart from being up several times in the night with Ds as usual, I've been lying awake since 4am worrying about money. I've logged on to both cc accounts already this morning and added the total outstanding balances, it's not good. At this rate, there's no way we'll be debt free this year. I really need to think of how I'm going to make extra money to pay this off as soon as possible.
I'm going to remove my signature for now, as the thought of adding this recent cc totals to it does not make me feel very positive.0 -
Eek, a post at 5am is never a good sign.
I hope things seem a bit better later today. You can only do so much and it seems to me that you are doing as much as you can. You have paid off the majority of the debt and you know you can pay off the rest. Maybe it isn't this year but you will do it.
It sounded great when your business was doing well and bringing cash in. It also sounded like you were trying to fit in an awful lot into each day. Only you know if you could and would want to keep that up over a long period of time.
Stagnant wages and high inflation rates may well be affecting you more than the benefit of low interest rates. Things will reverse in time. In the meantime, it is painful and awful that you are left worrying at night.
