I know someone who's got a Bull Terrier called Spinkle and think it's a great and unusual name. She once had a dog called Sally Cabbage.0

Some great suggestions ..... I must admit though whenever I've "pre chosen" a name for a pet, when they've arrived, their personality has always made a name easy - and it's never been one of the ones I'd picked beforehand!
I love old fashioned names but some of the best ones I've come across have been things that would never have occurred to me and are everyday things/items - things like "Bean", "Bug", "Beetle" (now, I know you think, "who'd call their dog Beetle" but if you met her .... it's just her!)
Looking forward to seeing the pics......Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Apologies to op for hijacking thread but if I post a new thread it will probably get merged.
I've just reserved an 18 month old greyhound. She's not been in kennels long, she was spayed last week and had to have a life-saving tranfusion from one of the other greys
She's mainly white with black patches, a mainly black head and quite dappled. She's an Irish girl.
She's still very weak and a bit pathetic. She's been named Tinsel by the greyhound trust. We can't decide whether to keep that name or not as I can't imagine shouting it across the park on a hot summer day!
Any suggestions would be welcome!0 -

I don't know much about her other than she would have been called Sporting Royal had she raced. She has decided she'd rather be a pet :j0 -

maybe Tinsel suits her?0 -
How about Gypsy? Some days I wake up Grumpy ... Other days I let him lie in.0
