NPM - It might be worth ringing the headmaster, explaining the situation, and asking if you may just come and see the school privately prior to the meeting, and if the headmaster is on your side, that can work wonders
As I always say, its worth a try.

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
It doesn`t work like that unfortunately. As noah has a Statement it is a legal LEA process which has set stages;)
I am going to go to see the school before meeting but it can`t be till after Xmas now due to schools being busy etc.
sure it wasn`t this complicated when I was at school:o0 -
Afternoon all,
Beautiful sunny day here (sorry!!)although not very warm, cheered me up no end when I woke up this morning.
Have been to check on rumour that our 'old' GP is now back in harness....true, but just from 6-9am on Wednesday, OH wants him to check some pimply things that he is worried about, so will get up early to-morrow and brave the swearing.....and that's just the doc! Nothing wrong with our current gp but 35 years with one builds a habit.
Finishing some meatballs from freezer with pasta for dinner, not many left so will bulk them out with some Polish sausage I bought....totally different to Italian and Spanish sausage but very tasty...will also take some cooked beef from freezer for to-morrow, am actually seeing the odd gap in there now.
Lou....keep smiling (and eating and walking), you know what they say "fake it till you make it". Hugs.
Was looking for stuff for DGDs today and not very impressed, they usually have an outfit and some books as I have credit union accounts for them all so spend very little for Christmas/birthdays. Need to finally decide what to get for DD3 and BF in Oz as want them off early....DS2 is going to them for Christmas, but wouldn't trust him to take anything with him!
Managed to finish my hat and I love it....just cast it off when I ran out of wool and it fits fine....I can be a genius sometimes...
My sympathy to those of you who are not sleeping or need to be up at sparrow *art....I had no trouble getting up when I worked, but after 5 years retirement I think I could sleep the round of the clock if nobody made any noise, miss not being up early really as would like to do a bit of housework first thing....no I don't mean that, I NEVER like to do housework, but would get it done if up earlier IYKWIM.
Beth....felt I was a bit hard on you last night, sorry if offence given, but will not take back the bit about it being essential to look after yourself...hugs.
LW....healing vibes on way to you....
Off now to do some knitting for an hour or so...stay safe all

NPM - you are in such a difficult position and it would be so good if you could just take Noah to that school (which does look really good) without having to go through all that rigmarole. Please give Noah a cuddle from me, and I hope you can get some proper rest soon.
Beth - try and take it easy. Easier said than done, I know.

Hi all,
I,m feeling a bit better today, got a little sleep last night - has been an emotional few weeks, not just with pusscat, but family carp (not us n the kids).
Thank you all for being so supportive, and sorry for not being as supportive of you having a pants time - I have been reading and feel for each of you, my poor brain doesn,t seem to be able to retain information long enough to name each of you and make comments, but beleive me I would be hugging like mad if you were here.
Those of you on the up, or on the level, thanks you all, well for just being here.
Not much OS,ing going on at the mo, but have promised myself to get back to it this weekend.
Have a fab evening all xxNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Well Today has been a complete waste of time so far. Started good and early on Publisher and was going great guns for a good 10 minutes before everything froze. Have spent the rest of the day faffing about with computer and printer. At last computer working, sort of, but the printer is hilarious - every 3 or 4 minutes there is a lot of efficient sounding whirring and it spits out a blank piece of paper. Honestly! I really pamper these machines and this is how they thank me.:D
Ceirdwyn: You could make a fortune with those Kindle cases, they are fabulous.
NPM: Fingers crossed. It's so difficult isn't it? Trying to do what's best is a minefield. Good luck.
nmlc: It's awfully sad dealing with homelessness in the winter. I absolutely hate sending young people out and knowing that they are going to a bench somewhere. We do our best, feeding them hot meals and supplying blankets and sleeping bags but I do wish we had a night shelter for them.
BitsyBeans: All sympathy with your DB. The idea of not giving money in child support but doing the shopping is a really good one. But do make sure that he keeps receipts etc. It's too easy to kid the CSA that no support has been given, and don't get me started on them!
And how is our Beth today? Recovered from the onslaught of yesterday I hope. I felt quite mean when I signed off but it was real concern for you, petal. I also had no help from anyone. Not because they were unwilling, but my parents were too far away and I wouldn't have trusted my MiL with a budgie. I did have a good circle of friends and we covered for each other in an emergency. When my grandchildren came along I made it very clear that I had brought my own family up and was not about to start again. Of course I supported them fully, I did my fair share of babysitting, had the littlies for the odd day to give parents a break and even moved in for a week once in a while so the parents could get away together but it was just that - the odd occasion or in an emergency.
And when it was convenient. I don't think they love me less, and I have a terrific relationship with the DGC. So think on my sweet, look after yourself or you will be no use to anyone.

Evening all
Busy day at work! Meeting after meeting, didn't get to eat lunch til 2.30pm. My old social work student popped in for a coffee which was lovelyI had a little chat to her about my uni predicament and she helped me sort a few things out in my head. My boss has said that they will work around my uni hours where possible but I hate putting people out. i've made appt to speak to my tutor tomorrow just to talk through my worries, but I think I will stick at it.
Just making a big pot of veggie chilli now, going to have some with fajitas for tea, and freeze the rest.
Have just spoken to the man and we have another date planned for Thursday
Have a good evening all

Evening All
Hugs where needed, welcome to newbies and general good wishes.
Not caught up with yesterday's thread yet, managed to see DS1 on his own yesterday and it seems that all in the garden is not rosy. His GF appears to be pulling all the strings and preventing him seeing us and keeping my DGD from me and the rest of the family. He realises what a mess he has got himself into but DGD is his priority. At least we got some things sorted between us (I refused to meet if GF was there and this caused a major row between them). I did get a text from the GF which wasn't very pleasant, DS1 knows about this. I have told him that I will support him whatever his decision and will always be there for him. Such a mess.
No OS I'm afraid, DD cooked fantastic fajitas for tea, been to the optician and I now need specs for driving, DD been to job shop as she isn't getting any shifts but has an interview tomorrow - fingers crossed for her.
Take care. XX0 -

Thanks for the good wishes re DH scan. He has been given the all clear with everything as it should be and nothing untoward.:j Feel very relieved and a bit emotional, have been trying not to think about it and hadn't realised how worriedI was:o
FB I think if you can I would advise to get on with your course, especially as you like the people there, that is not always the case and it makes life so much easier if you have the support of your peers
