    Many thanks to everyone who have added their piece. I'm weighing up between three. Zen, Goscombe and AAISP. I'm not even lookingat price. If someone gives me the customer service i expect, they have my custom.
    Hi mikey, like you I AM a long standing AOL customer, 6 years, but have never had bad CS ;;
    I am now getting, and have had, speed problems, and line droppage, for ages;;; so am now looking about like you;;;I don,t like change since, but,, CPW/TT took over it,s deteriorated I grant you;;Haven,t asked for MAC code, so cannot comment about leaving problems, see how you get on;
    Are all of these Good CS ISP's at your exchange??
    I,ve got a good choice, so am monitoring this, and other threads;;
    Keep us informed please;;Trouble is , AOL, takes some beating on price;;;
    £7 for BB=anytime calls;;;got line with BT, always have, dubious about letting it go;;;:beer: Good luck whoever you choose;
  • If any aol customers are reading this and fancy a challenge, try calling aol customer services and ask for a mac code and see how you get on, what type of conversation you have and then see if you get through to the next department and if possible, time your wait. I have read numourous threads on the web about this and there seems to be a very high number of customers who go through the same thing. AOL dont want to lose customers so they make it as impossible as they can to let youleave.

    A follow up to this story, when i eventually got through to someone, they confirmed that they had sent a mac code out but i had never received this and that the service was cancelled. The same day i placed the order with BT, i cancelled my direct debit. Then checking my account the other night, noticed that aol had taken another payment. I, ve had this refunded luckily enough by the bank. If you have issues with AOL i now have an email addy for their HQ in warrington.

    I need a uk based call centre with english speaking people. Plusnet was looking good but in europe. I personally support british workers with jobs in the UK, not in another country.

    Hi mikeyranson,

    All our staff are based in Sheffield in the UK, we don't have any offshore call centres or anything of the like.

    I am the official company representative of Plusnet. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"

    Smaller companies such as TitanADSL, Aquiss they have less than 20k in customers but their staff have worked in the industry at data centre level so you will actually speak to staff which knows the technology inside out plus their hold times are usually less than a min!

    Might be worth looking into!

    Do you mind posting a link to that information at all? We used to have a callcentre out in Durbin in South Africa, but that's no longer the case. We're based across two buildings, both in the centre of Sheffield.

  • I googled the the info but i was unable to find it. I read it somewhere. My wording above when i said that i "read it everywhere " is mis-leading and i apologise for that. I read it somewhere. Maybe just once. If i do come across, it, i'll post it.
