What broadband supplier has best customer service

Options
Im so desperate to leave aol after nearly 20 years service with them. Their customer service has to be the worst.
Can anyone recommend a broadband supplier that has outstanding customer service. I'm not looking for the cheapest. I'm looking for a service which can answer or fix your problem within a reasonable time. (in my view, an hour) Points that i am looking for:
1 UK call centre
2 not being kept on hold for ridiculous amounts of time.
3 get through to a human being straight away.
4 having a geographical landline number to call them

Maybe you can think of more valued points.

If you cannot list a best supplier, please feel free to name and shame the worst you have experienced and give an example of what you have endured. for example, i contacted AOL to cancel. I was bounced from india to manilla to south africa and back to india for another round. In total, kept on hold for 4 hours on a saturday morning. Battery ran out twice onto phones which i had to keep swapping whilst the other was charging. I gave up in the end without ever getting that mac code. Indian call centre wont listen to what i say, they will bounce you round for fun. tell us what you experience.

Be are generally considered first rate (though E. Europe based, not UK). Though I've never had any problems with 02. Or Zen?
But its only with the TT's of this world that you would have to call up CS often anyway. A decent ISP should provide a reliable service and bill you correctly-end of story. The only time I've had to call O2 in over 2 years is to negotiate a loyalty discount.
After two decades of AOL/TT, almost anyone else will be an improvement-except BT or Orange of course.

Be customer services are based in Sofia, Bulgaria, not the UK, but in general this doesn't cause any issues. They're very willing to help, and will veer off-script as necessary to find the solution to a problem. They also actively monitor the member forums to pick up on any concerns and issues. So to address your bullet points ...

    1. Sofia, but not a problem

    2. Longest I've ever waited on hold was 5 minutes, and this was when there was a more widespread issue and was overnight (so there would usually be low staffing levels).

    3. Always through to a human (although there is a multiple choice option when you first dial, to select the relevant department).

    4. Freephone number. 0808 101 3430. Also available as a geographical number for those on mobiles with contract minutes. 0203 393 5181.

PS - AOL are now part of TalkTalk, and their telephone CS is atrocious from what I read. Email CS isn't much better. The only way to get a semblance of decent CS is via the TT Member Forums.

I have Sky Broadband, never had a problem with Customer Service, they are so knowledgeable. When Ive had problems
with my broadband they have sorted me out with technical problems within minutes.

    Excellent in my opinion.

They do have an 0844 number which is free for some customers but there is always a generic number or a free phone number to be found.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Problems with the service, or problems with Customer Services? (Your post is unclear). :)
  • I am also a very satisfied Plusnet customer and have been for over 3.5 years now.

I helped a friend leave aol. They kept telling her to call them on another, later date, this lasted three months. They eventually let her escape after her landline was disconnected.
Plusnet has good online help and an online forum. I've never needed to call them. You could phone possible service providers to find out how they handle calls.
