Reasonable travel time?

Im about to start a job that's gonna be close to 2 hours travel each way.
My previous jobs have been 15 minutes / 35 minutes and 5 minutes each way.
Luckily I can stay with my parents a night or 2 each week to break it down a bit.
Good luck, it really is soul destroying.Poverty 2012 - F**K My low wage!0 -
I drive 20 minutes to work. That's reasonable. By public transport it would be > 2 hours. That's not.0

I wouldn't drive for more than 45 minutes each way, but if it were public transport, then I wouldn't mind up to 1h15 minutes. If I HAD to take a job that was further than that, I'd relocate.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
1-2 hours drive depending on which office I’m in (Croydon/Ealing from East Herts). I tend to go in before the morning rush hour and come home after. Reasonable to me!💙💛 💔0

Lucky for me I work shifts starting at 07:15 and finish at 20:45 so I miss all the rush hour traffic :T
Takes about 20 mins to drive it.0 -
50 minutes into London on public transport plus the walk to/from the station each end so about 90 mins in total. If I drive to the local office where I used to work it often used to take me just as long in the car (sometimes longer!) as it is a bit of a traffic blackspot and it was less than a 10 mile journey! No on-site parking at the office so another 10 minutes or so driving around looking for somewhere to park and then a 10-15 minute walk to/from the office. The train service locally is a bit rubbish so it's actually quicker for me to commute to LondonDebt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

mins is about 45-55 minutes each way, maybe 70 mins on a bad day...that and the 12 hour shift inbetween.
Last job was about 1hr 20 each way on a good day, more like 1hr 45 in the morning though.0 -
I hour each way by public transport. During half term, can be a lucky 45min in the morning - taking the 7.05 bus. Any later and it's 1h+. On the way back, never less than 1h, also 1,5hrs is not unheard of. When we had the snow last year, one evening it took me 3hrs to get home. Left the office at 5pm, got the train ok (20min), and then 5mile walk (2hrs 40min) as there were no buses.
My ideal commute would be a 20-25min walk (!) if only....0 -
Haven't drove a bicycle for years.
Easily fixed.Not exactly all weather,
But covers most and you can use public transport or a car or whatever the rest of the time.and not exactly very hygenic on the way into work.
Depends on your route. You could also take clothes with you and change there (it's what I do). A little bit of sweat isn't going to kill you or your colleagues.0
