Personal Challenges :starmod:
Monday Pollyanna Day
Let’s try to start the week in a really positive way. If you have never read the book Pollyanna then you’ve missed a real treat! If you have you will know the idea. Today I want you to play Pollyanna:
Pollyanna's philosophy of life centres on what she calls "The Glad Game", an optimistic attitude she learned from her father. The game consists of finding something to be glad about in every situation. It originated in an incident one Christmas when Pollyanna, who was hoping for a doll in the missionary barrel, found only a pair of crutches inside. Making the game up on the spot, Pollyanna's father taught her to look at the good side of things—in this case, to be glad about the crutches because "we didn't need to use them!"
Tuesday Go outside Day
[STRIKE]I want you to spend 10 minutes today outside (or looking through the window) enjoying the season. Look at the birds, the beauty of the plants in your garden even those which are stripped bear. Whilst you are out there see if there are any evergreens, seedheads, berries which you will be able to use for Christmas decorations. If you don’t have a garden then a brief stroll somewhere close by would be good.[/STRIKE]
Wednesday Health Check
When life is busy it is easy to forget to keep an eye on your own health but it is so important. So today I want those breasts checked ladies and I can think of no excuses. Now is also a great time of year to get appointments at dentists and opticians if you are overdue a visit as they get lots of cancellations. Have you stashed your supplements away at the back of a cupboard hoping they will work by osmosis?
Thursday Feet glorious Feet
Feet work so hard and so unloved. Today exercise yours. How high can you lift your toes? Can you lift individual toes? Keeping your feet on the floor try to move your big toes towards each other. Use a spare rolling pin or tennis ball to massage the soles of your feet. Can you pick up small items like beanbags with your feet? Get the kids involved too.
Treat them to a soak and moisturise (your feet not the kids). Foot treat products make great gifts.
Friday Keep in Contact
Phone somebody you haven’t spoken to in ages and make their day. Don’t wait until Christmas to send a card asking how they are, do it in person. For those of you who will struggle with this go and read a bit of a board on here you have never visited. You don’t have to post.

Wednesday season of goodwill and forgiveness
[STRIKE]Simple one today for you all, I want you to forgive yourself for something you have done in the past (distant or more recent). It can be a bad decision you made, something you said, something you didn’t do. Stop it being in your head. Accept that you are human, you made a mistake and you completely forgive yourself for it. Now enjoy your day.[/STRIKE]

Not too happy today (no surprise there!)
The boyfriendish (who's going to have to be renamed as I don't think he classes himself as that anymore) text asking to borrow some money. Me being the soft touch said yes but when I checked my account this morning my wages have been cut
I guess I'm just on ssp now. I never received a letter and by my calculations the 28 weeks should end in January.
Anyway I'm stuffed, there's not enough money to cover my bills so I'm going to my friends at lunch see what she can work out e.g tax credit etc
I text the boyfriendish and have actually received more text messages this morning than I have had any type of contact in the last 2 weeks!
The DDs and I got all the Christmas presents out of the attic last night and sorted through them to see what's left to buy. So there are boxes everywhere!
I have decided that I'm going to quit my O U course. I don't want to but I'm behind on it and really can't focus on it at the moment with life how it is

FFP Howd'ya do? Off to strip beds. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0

Morning to you all. Waves and hugs all round.
Just met some friends for a coffee and catch up and about to take stripes on a long walk. Then it's work and a walk to the big tesco as I still can't find anyone to fix my car. Must remember it's a long walk back and not buy too much. Got another friend coming round tonight to put the world to rights so I do need to do a bit of tidying. Hoping this feeling of can't be ars**dness lifts soon. It's so not me!
Right stripes to walk xx0 -
Good morning
Decided to stay home this morning instead of going to toddler group. i have been catching up on paperwork (work stuff), and getting some bargains on the Amazon black friday deals :j I won't need to go out christmas shopping at this rate:)
I am going to make Miss T some lunch, then off out to the PO to send a parcel back, and to get some bread for this afternoon.
I have cancelled going to art tomorrow, as I REALLY need to spend the weekend doing my assignment (due next Thursday). I will need to fit that around food shopping, cooking dinners & dog walking, so at least it is one less thing to worry about
I haven't checked the lists properly, but I can get a xmas star :jI think we have enough drink for xmas. We are not big drinkers, but we get a box of 12 bottles of wine for christmas every year from my 'aunty', and as we supply the food at christmas, we tell the family to bring drinksIf DD1 wants something to drink (a student!) she can get it herself!! So we are done on that one
I will try and update laterHugs & spoons for those that need them

Two beds stripped and one remade. Wash on. Bit of coursework marked and ready to be posted to school. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0

Hello All,
A lovely bright day and have been busy all morning, several annoying small projects sorted.
Now, am contemplating teaching DS (9 but with needs) a harsh lesson - he is being very defiant about tidying his room or even keeping it clean just now. I'm debating carrying out my threat of taking everything away that is on the floor and seeing if he notices or misses anything. He needs a calm clear environment to stay shall we say calm/happy and maybe shoving his room that way may reinforce this to him. Plus I may find and be able to takeaway the we shouldn't have items....
..cuppa whilst I ponder - only have 90 minutes before the school run.
MoamAlthough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.
Snowball says too far away, working hard to bring it forward.0 -
MOAM sounds fair. I would issue a warning once, first.
3 beds changed. Baby Grateful is not a fan of being put down and so screamed with outrage. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0
