Seller says "not as described"

  • If she's claiming it's damaged etc, it's also possible that she has bought the dress to replace an identical one her child has owned and damaged, and as such will send you the damaged one when returning it.

I am another one for standing your ground until she either returns the same dress in the same condition you sent it or goes away, having been scared off by eBay telling her to return it recorded delivery at her own cost.

I am not sure if this would be possible if they took your advice:rotfl:
"Is she too far away from you to go pick it up and then refund or maybe you know someone near her?"

Why would the seller want to do this? Put yourself out to help a potential scammer and then have no proof that you refunded her?

How would you have no proof? you would have refunded her they same way she paid (Paypal) thanks for disecting my post, i was trying to offer advice to the OP. You will also notice the part about leaving feedback i have added at the end "someone will confirm this" and also "i dont think she can leave neg feedback" i put this as i wasnt sure, iam glad you had a :rotfl: at it.

I didn't exactly disect your post - I confirmed the bits requiring confirmation and I corrected the bits that needed correcting. This is quite a common way of responding to posts with several questions??

As for collecting the item and then not having proof you refunded.... I assumed if you were suggesting collecting the dress and giving a refund in cash. Do you honestly expect a scammer to hand over the dress if you promise to refund them when you get home?? Equally if you refunded before you left home do you really think they will give you the dress??

Perhaps you want to collect the dress and then borrow their laptop to sign into paypal to process the refund?

and you wonder why I am laughing!!:rotfl:

Yep that way they can get your password for paypal and do you good and proper.

Thanks for all of your help and suggestions with this. I spoke with E-bay this morning and they said that if the seller does not want to return the item i am under no obligation to issue a refund.

No e-mails from the buyer in two days, i asked her to confirm if she was going to return item and i also informed her that e-bay were aware of the situation and they agreed she needed to return for a refund. Will wait and see when and if she replies.

Good on you for not giving in, its only a small amount of money but like you said its the principle. Its a pitty there is no way too rate buyers like the star system or similar so others can see if they have done it before and how decent/honest a buyer they are, although most are genuine and honest its the small minority that take advantage and cause problems like this.

Maybe shes seen your post on here a saw how determined you are not too give in :p
