My understanding was that the main idea was that you don't use the rubbish contract and consider this just as repayments for the handset (£112 in total if you do everything correctly).
EDIT: considering your circumstances (other thread) this probably is not the best option for you indeed. And I cannot find the deal on d-a-p website anyway.0 -
plan is not to spend nearly £600 on new iphone if i can get something similar say buy a phone £200 and can get 750/5000/1GB sim only with tesco£10 or even GiffGaff will do for me and get my son the tesco deal cos he uses the phone a lot
so £320 for 1st year and cheaper after that depending on how long the phone last
hope this makes senseHonesty is the best policy doesn't matter which web site

because ... some like to think they are better than others, and if they don't feel what they have is the best how are they going to justify themself?0 -
I did see somewhere the Sensation XE going for £21.50 per month.........I'll try and find where I saw it.
For the Sky GO poster..........I'm sure not having Sky Go (yet) is going to be the top of a list as to which handset is purchased. Indeed if you pick up the Galaxy S II or indeed the Note you'll be paying the same for an iPhone 4S. Android does offer more in the way of choice, big screen, small screen etc etc. Myself I decided on the Note so when Sky Go does become available for Android it will look better on a Super AMOLOED HD screen or even a qHD screen found on the Sensation. The iPhone in my view is too small. Out of all the phones out there, I would say the Sensation,Note,Galaxy S II or the Nexus but these may well be out of your budget.
I wish people wouldn't judge the phone or OS on apps alone, there might be 500k on one platform but how many of them will you use and apps will soon be dead anyway. Moving your music over will be easy via doubletwist and with Android you won't have a locked down OS so you can share everything from music to films without Apple stopping you from doing so.0 -
Problem with all smartphones is that over time they will become very sluggish due to memory issue.
iPhones still have overall better user experience and if you jail break it, it is awesome. It also crashes much less compared to Android phones. But it is most expensive of the bunch.
Nokia Lumia is a good phone buy way overpriced.
Just figure out what exactly your requirement is and then select one which ticks all boxes.
Always keep a dumb phone as backup. As long as you can ring up a mate to look something on internet for you, you can be smart without a smart phoneHappiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0 -

The point i was trying to make was that apps often get released on iOS first and follow in Android a long time later (if at all). It not just Sky Go but also dedicated banking apps like First Direct, HSBC (business), and many others.nsabournemouth wrote: »I wish people wouldn't judge the phone or OS on apps aloneiPhones still have overall better user experience and if you jail break it, it is awesome. Here's why Android's UI will never be as smooth as iOS or Windows Phone 70 -

I think its fair to assume when someone buys a smartphone they want to use apps as well as make calls. I didn't spend 500 notes on my iphone 4S just to make calls...i would have bought a Nokia 8910 if that was the case;)
This article, straight from the horse's mouth, explains why Android isn't as slick as iOS:

Don't have an account with either of them and don't have sky........
You will find that there are apps released on to both platforms before the other. Android is the preferred OS for me with or without a banking app for HSBC and apps are very un-important for me. You cannot say an OS or phone is good or bad based on the number of apps available. Hardware and ease of use do it for me, an iphone is a mish mash of Samsung,LG and Sony Ericsson to name but a few. Yes Apple set the standard but Samsung and others have raised it, Apple can't compete.
The article, I have seen before is not the view of every Android and iOS device owner and there are things that each does better than others, sadly those who are loyal to their brands won't see it any other way.0 -
