Quiet in here! How is everyone?

    Not too bad, Catwoman! :)

Had the week off over Christmas, but am now back.

There did seem to be a slight issue with the tracker at some point during the week, as am 15-20 minutes down compared to what I actually did. How is everyone else doing in terms of time, as people seemed to be having some pretty big problems with it not too long ago?!
  • Hi everyone!

    Happy New Year!

My time has been tracking fine lately, the only occasional problem has been shutting down towards the end of larger sets.
I've had a number of audits that weren't mine though, which could be bad for my metrics. There's always something!

Mmm.. Didn't recognise the last audit I got either, but just assumed it was one I did months and months ago and had forgot.. Is it really possible to get someone else's?! Weird!

    Hi again WSEs.

Anyone else currently concerned about what's going to be happening next week? And has anyone actually volunteered for it, as I really don't think I want to be one of the ones who gets picked to be moved over!

    Eek!!

    Nothing yet.

Wonder if anyone contacted them asking NOT to be put forward?! I did consider it, but then chickened out! :D

Just one tip I share for the sets of 30 which worked for me earlier...

I was on LP 28/30 and IE appeared to freeze (the blue spinning circle thing appeared...not sure what its technical name is!) I left it and this continued for about 5 minutes... with the page appearing never to load.

So, I clicked on the X sign in the address bar (had to do it twice) and the page stopped trying to load, and after a further 10-20 seconds the toolbar became active again and I was able to rate the page as having not loaded...

Not sure if it'll work again, or is a trick that'll work for you, but worth trying as to avoid the frustration of sets of 30 freezes and time losses... In the past when this has happened I've had to shut IE down.

Had a look at this earlier, only to find that "X" isn't there in IE10. :D

Am assuming the big one that appears in the top left hand corner is something different, as pressing that never seems to do anything for me when the page stops responding.

    Hi ,

I am new here and I am working for the German market with Appen.I have a few questions...As I see you have the same issue with the screen freezing every 30 minutes, where I need to switch off and on the PC every time:( What else I noticed is that Appen is giving jobs during the night ( in Germany) and always I check the page there are only a few queries to rate. Is this normal? Very frustrating really:(And as soon they load the job they gradually are reducing the queries .For example from 1000 after 1 hour 500 and after 1h only 50 and so... You never have the time to rate them all:(
    Is the same with you?

It sounds like you're talking about crowdsourcing, which is usually a bit touch and go with the availability of work. In some markets it's not uncommon to go a whole week without any tasks. It's not a given that you'll get work while doing crowdsourcing.

If you are NOT a crowdsourcer and you're talking about WSE, then I recommend contacting your manager as hours should be reduced when you're out of tasks.
