Ooh, what did you do in your other job (if you don't mind me asking)? Sounds interesting! I've been proofreading for the last two or three years. I'm finding this harder than that was though and I'm constantly looking things up.

I have found a couple of things were ambiguous though like you said, though the feedback is helping.[/QUOTE]

It will have to be by pm as I'll probably get into trouble for advertising!! :D
  • Does anyone do any judging on a tablet as opposed to a laptop? I'm just wondering if it's possible/easy.

    Hi everyone. :)

Well, it seems like those big batches of results are back in full force today for us Web Search Evaluators. Managed about an hour and a half of work, when of course IE then just had to close unexpectedly on a number 27...

No idea what this transcription thing is that everyone is talking about. Is it a certain number of hours a week, or more of an supplementary thing like the crowdsourcing?!

I hate these with a passion.

Not seen these yet - they sound awful though! What do you do about the time you lose?

I assume I have not been the only one with no work for the last 2 days? Following a suspension last week - it's all been a bit frustrating!

Try closing your browser every half hr. Thats what I do. I do this after every hr anyway, even with the small batches

Transcription varies. I've had a couple of ad hoc short projects, but this project is longer :) Hoping it will see me into next year :j

  • Any one got a big crowdsourcing job where all of the suggestions are foreign? Was thinking 'great' lots of hits but can't answer properly because I don't understand them . Have sent a ticket.

Also wondered how everyone got into the transcription work? Would like to apply but don't know how to.

:wall: Have just logged out after another session. Was on a number 30 this time when the rating toolbar thing suddenly disappeared!! Somehow though, after refreshing the page a few times and pressing some buttons, it still managed to submit.

Seems we're just expected to keep working until a full 4 hours has been recorded. So, looks like another extra 20 minutes today for me at least...

Mmm.. I usually get kicked out at least once an hour for some reason or another anyway, and always delete cookies before logging in again. May try this anyway though!

    Thanks. :)

I'm thinking it may be the thing I was emailed about a few months back, but had to ignore as I was already doing the WSE job. Can't find any kind of application page by Googling anyway...
