Hello all, just to say, have been following thread for around 3-4 weeks now and am loving how clean my house is.
To be honest , it's never been a big mess - growing up in a home of chaos where reading books, important letters, clean knickers etc just seemed to vanish off the planet had put me off that, but I work full time (usually out by 8 and not home till 6 or 7) and the house was probably surface clean rather than really clean.
It may have looked tidy to the untrained eye (and I have always had a thing about a shiny sink, which is why I am loving this thread!!), I was quite fastisious about getting washing / ironing etc done (when I lived at home the ironing pile was a permanent tower that you pulled something out of when you needed it) and I did like things ordered (my wardrobe is meticulously ordered by colour and item, my CDs are alphabetised and my books are separated into fiction / non fiction and alphabetised by author) but if you poked about a bit you would see the mess. Things like window frames, light hangings, skirting boards were done rarely and clutter was hidden in drawers and cupboards.
However now everything sparkles and shines and I would be happy for anyone to come and inspect my cupboards, look under the wardrobe or bookcase and run a finger along the highest of shelves.
Even better, the kids now automatically take off their shoes when they come inside (after years of nagging) and DD likes nothing more than to grab a cloth and a spray bottle of stardrops and clean the tiles with me.
DH however, thinks I am completely mental!!
So, I suppose what I am trying to say in this long and garbled manner is Thank You Moggins (and others, whose posts I try to read but don't always have the time) for changing my house and long may the board continue - I hope you have an understudy or don't you dare have a day's illness!
Thank you!0 -

Hi all,
Great to hear of everyone's progress. I'm making headway in some areas (master bedroom; laundy) and zero in others. Like many others feel awful/ tired today. Thanks to moggins for her dedication to the cause!
Pigpen - think you asked what covers red marker pen (few days ago). There is a specialist paint (can buy it in a can) to cover water stains or other marks 'bleeding' through. Apols if wasn't you or seems ages ago - just catching up!
lil_me - sorry to hear about upset tums. My OH suffers this - found that Yakult or live yogurt helps settles tummies.
Hugs to all and well done on progress.Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Hugs to Lil-me
Hugs to Pigpen too, I think I will see my DH for all of 4 hours this week. He's volunteered for 3 overtime shifts in one week, two of them being this weekend which is his only weekend off in the month. It's the one time I get to leave the kids at home with him whilst I go to the market. It's got me severly peed off. DD is forgetting what he looks like.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

DD2 asked me why DH is not coming home from work until bed time and if it is because he doesn't want to see them! .. great isn't it!... NOT! It really pee's me off.. oh.. he then complained about what I had cooked him for dinner.. apparently if he was meant to eat salmon he'd be a bear!
I'll be a bear soon and growl loudly and bite his head off!!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Tell him he was lucky to get salmon cooked for him at all. If he lived with me he would have to cook for himself - poor DH has to cook for himself when he comes home, though he does only come home about three nights a week. (He's a long distance lorry driver - or possibly has another wife somewhere else, one that cooks!)0

Haven't got much done yet as I've been out most of the day. Had to go fetch the car from DH's work this morning as his taxi didn't turn up to take him so he took the car (which he woke me up at 3.45am to tell me! ). He's also a HGV driver who's on a night out tonight which is the only time I get the car! Anyway by DH's work is a big Tesco Extra so I ended up going there and didn't get home until lunchtime - then I realised I'd got a meeting at school at 2pm so that was most of the afternoon gone.
However, I have stripped DS's bed after he wet it last night,
WM x 3
TD x 2
Washed dishes
Cleaned microwave (again!)
Cleaned all the inside filter on the TD with the hoover
Swept kitchen floor
Got both kids in bed.
Now I'm going to attempt to work on the living room part of Moggin's list whilst the kids are in bed and not following me round making more mess!:)NST #10 Steps 7K 2/30 10K 2/12 5 a day 3/30 NSD 0/20
