Jessica - Follow Fran's advice and for good measure you can download Spy Doctor and Spyware Blaster. Then run both. They are free downloads from: https://www.download.com"0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0

I have downloaded and installed Microsoft Antispyware beta today and I just can't believe how much spyware it has found
Considering I have had Spybot, Spywareblaster and Ad-Aware all running and supposedly protecting my computer for the last 12 months I am absolutely stunned.
I usually do a full scan with all three at least once a month.
Microsoft beta picked up 20 that the others didn't!! 3 rated severe and 10 rated at high threat.
I find a similar scenario with Advanced uninstaller Pro, run the registry cleaner then run reg supreme cleaner and it will find more.
Anyone who hasn't got this Microsoft beta I suggest you download and run it immediately!! In fact I recommend you get them all!A cynic is a man who knows the price of everything but the value of nothing.0 -

I just downloaded MS Anti-Spyware. It looks impressive with plenty of thorough options. When I ran it, it came up with 0 problems.
As well as AdAware and Spybot S&D, I have had SpywareBlaster and SpywareGuard on here for some time; I'd recommend them as they prevent problems rather than clear them up. SB blocks ad/tracking cookies and harmful sites and SG wards off browser hijack. Going by the MS AS result, something seems to be working!0 -

Likewise with me, zero found. I run AVG/Sygate firewall/Ad Aware/Spybot S&D/Firefox/Sandboxie...........and my system is on virtually 24/7.0 -
I tried avg a couple of years ago.Found that it couldn't identify and therefore eliminate
viruses.Ok id did find some and I couldn't complain as it was free,
However i decided to pay £25 for a norton/symantec antivirus cd which included "Goback"
This is a great addition, as last year my computer was attacked by trojan horses
four times in the space of a couple of weeks. All I did was disconnect from the net,
activated goback and switched the computer off.SWitched on again, and the goback
function allowed me to put the computer back in time by about 15 minutes-ie before
the trojan horse infected my computer. This cleared the problem and seems to be the quickest way to eliminate viruses.I have also now added the zone alarm firewall and now all is quiet on the virus front.0
