  • I didn't realise breakfast was included at the hotel. I wonder if that's still the case with the Sun deal - it doesn't mention breakfast. I wouldn't pay for the character breakfast if there's a free option!
  • Booked for 3rd time ...so excited :j

it doesn't matter who you have booked your onsite Disney hotel with (including the Sun) - breakfast is always included for the morning after you have stayed in the hotel :). This excludes the Davy Crocketts Ranch though, as breakfast is not included there anymore.

Just be aware that can't use Tesco vouchers for Eurotunnel tickets where the journey initiates from Calais and if you purchase a Return ticket and don't use the outward journey the return journey is also invalid.

    Ah okay thanks for that!

    Have changed plans.

I think we're going to take the eurotunnel (using clubcard vouchers) the day before we're booked for the disney tickets, drive to the kyriad hotel, settle in, maybe have a look around Paris and then do Disney the next day. Then we'll stay another night and go home the next evening as the hotel is pretty much the same price for 2 nights as what I was looking at for 1 night before. Excluding petrol it'll be around £90 odd. I did check direct flights to rule out the petrol cost but works out around £60 more so we'll do the drive. I did want to let my 4yr old and OH experience a ferry trip but it just works out a lot better for us this way!

Have had a look at a longer stay through Disney itself but still coming out at £386 cheapest and that's not including travel so because we want a proper holiday abroad this year I think it's more economical for us to do the sun deal, I'm pretty sure we'll be doing disney again at some point anyway!

I'm gonna collect the Sun vouchers for the first time this year and was hoping to stay overnight (MSE details say it costs £37 more to upgrade to return next day) so I started to look around for campsites to keep costs low. I found one about 20min drive from Disneyland but was wondering if anyone else has ever stayed at a campsite near the park?

these dates are Jan - March so not sure many of the campsites will be open ?

but yes we have stayed @ Le Chene Gris 15 mins away from Disney ( we stayed in a mobile home on a SUN £9.50 holiday ;) )

for the SUN disney deal in feb half term this year we booked a hotel via Expedia and then used tesco deals for the Eurotunnel

we only used the sun deal for the cheap day tickets, and didn't turn up for the ferry

Was this the 'character breakfast? I was considering paying the extra £16 for this as it would be a real treat for dd, but won't bother if it's as bad as you say!

    No.

Every hotel does breakfast but it is a basic breakfast, cereal, toast, meat, etc... I've had breakfast at Hotel New York and it was civilised, no pushing, shouting etc.... lovely experience. I've had breakfast at Santa Fe and it was how I described, I had breakfast at Sequioa Lodge and it was a bit inbetween - a bit pushy but no shouting and swearing.

Then there is the Character breakfast which is at Cafe Mickey in Disney Village, you book and pay for this and it is lovely and the characters come to each table and do photo's and autographs. I am not sure what food they serve to be honest - we have done loads of character meals at WDW so have never done one at DLP.

If you want a character experience though, go for the Tea Party, they have limited numbers and you get the characters for 90 mins. About 5.30 the music ends and the characters go in - but wait - every one thinks it is over and they leave but 5 minutes later the characters come out as they have just been for a break and you get them all to yourselves. :D

You will find one or two characters in the lobby of the hotel each morning, and occassionaly walking around the hotels.

Oh, and getting a table at Santa Fe - OMG. With Hotel New York/SL you queue outside until a table is free but they just let anyone in at Santa Fe and you have people hovering everywhere trying to find tables - and it is a HUGE dinging room. I really did not like it at all, we tried to change after day 1 but everywhere was full. Worst DLP experience ever as we have always stayed in the higher class hotels and nothing else was available when we booked.

Can i book this offer twice?

So have two days park tickets for £9.50 for the 4 of us and then have four lots of ferry bookings but only use two. Do you think this would work?

You can ring and book prior to collecting the vouchers. It costs an extra £7 but i needed to guarantee going at Feb half term due to working in a school.
