  • I rang yesterday. I was told they are waiting for more stock to fulfil replacements. I was also told some haven't been scanned in yet and there is still a huge back log. I've been waiting 8 weeks ish and status still says box sent.

I'm in the same situation - it's been exactly 8 weeks since I returned mine and my status has not been updated from "24 November - empty box shipped".

I finally got round to sending mine off on wednesday... just logged on to check if they had received it and it says

    Step 1 Request

    3 February 2012: Product received

    Step 2 Service

    3 February 2012: Issue identified

    Step 3 Return

3 February 2012: Product replacement pending

Do you think they've decided its water damaged or something, and so are just returning it back to me? It seems very strange for it all to happen in 1 day if they were replacing it with a new one (spec as its been taking people weeks)

Don't worry - that's exactly what mine said and it stays like that until you get the notification that your replacement has been sent out.

    Mine is exactly the same.
All 3 steps on the 6th of january.

i wouldnt sweat it too much, it seems everyone who sent on has received one back. If they are swamped with ipods to replace i doubt they will be checking them one by one. (that is my theory anways!!)

When it comes to the 6th Gen Ipod Nano, you dont know how true this statement is....!

Mine lasted 4 months having only been used at the gym, one day the screen stopped working despite it still being recognised via the computer - I took it to the Apple store and they claim it's been subject to "water damage" so cant be replaced for free.

I explained it's never been near any water but has been in contact with sweat as you can imagine through working out (what it's designed for...) - they refused to acknowledge that this could be the case and basically said I must be lying so could either pay £60 for the replacement or well, leave with the busted Nano.

Anyway a quick google search found many cases of people saying the same thing - so be warned dont sweat, or if you really must sweat get yourself a protective case/cover!

I guess I'll put it to one side in hope of a recall in 5 years time.
  • posted mine 18th jan went straight to step 3 20th Jan still waiting for replacement really missing my little ipod i was actually still using it rather than it being one gathering dust in a draw :(
  • Posted some out only 3 days ago and just 2 days later (2nd Feb) all of them say

    "Step 1 Request

    2 February 2012: Product received

    Step 2 Service

    2 February 2012: Issue identified

    Step 3 Return

2 February 2012: Product replacement pending"

Fab service for just a few days, and i did send them all recorded, so now just the wait til they turn up :)

    Again, thanks to the OP.

What has been peoples average wait to receive their iPod back once the status changes to "product replacement pending" as mine has been sitting at that stage for a few weeks

I've been waiting since 11th Feb when Apple received my nano.

I'm also interested to hear how long people have waited since posting their old nano back and receiving the new one.
