Free new ipod nano - If you have a 1st Gen Nano!

My pending date is 10/01 - hopefully soon.0

I know a few people are getting anxious about their replacements, and I've been waiting for mine since the status was "replacement pending" as of January 6th. N.B. I initiated the claim on 19th November, but it took ages to get my shipping label. The shipping note email I just received says a 6th gen nano (according to the serial number) was dispatched yesterday, 15th February, and should be delivered within 5 days.0

I am worried that they will refurbish the first gens already sent in and start sending them out instead of the 6th gens!Smiles are contagious0

My replacement has arrived, 8gb silver 6th gen as expected.
I doubt the first gens can be recycled, the Apple would likely need to manufacture more batteries to replace the questionable 1st ones (which obviously can't be recycled) and it's probably far cheaper just to use currently available newer generation stock. It may also suit Apple to clear remaining 6th gen stock to make way for a 7th gen nano.0 -

I have also had pending since 6/01/2012 but have just checked and still at pending.

My hubby sent his 1st generation Nano back. As soon as he had the email come in he registered the serial number on line and Apple sent all the packaging that was needed to send the item back.We also had to get proof of posting from the Post Office. After a couple of weeks he had heard nothing so rang a number he found on the Apple website I think it was and was told that it was being processed after being recieved and because they had so many to go through it would take a bit of time.
I think altogether he had to wait six weeks and in the meantime I had bought him an Ipod Touch {with Face Time for crimbo}When the replacement arrived he thought he had been sent someone elses Nano as the box it came in was smaller but when he opened it it turned out to be a 6th generation Ipod Nano 8gb{£100 in some shops} and he is thrilled to bits with it as it has a pedometer where he can keep track of his 10,000 steps a day he is trying to achive plus has 18 different clock faces and loads of other stuff on it.
So for all of those you who are waiting replacements hope they all come back as the latest version as my hubbys has done:)0 -

Yes they will, every single one replaced to date has been a silver 8gb 6th gen. But thanks for the update0 -
I was going to send my nano back and got the packaging from Apple, but over the Christmas break I managed to get completely disorganised and lost the packaging I had received. Any ideas of what I can do? I tried entering the serial number again but it just says it's already entered. Thanks in advance for any advice!0

This is from the paperwork Apple sent meAppleCare_Service wrote:Requests for service are held open for 10 days.
If you have not shipped your iPod to Apple within 10 days of your original request
for service, your request may be cancelled. You can check the status of your repair
online at Apple's support website: https://support.apple.com/repairstatus/Main.
• If your repair is open, send your iPod for repair as soon as possible following the
Shipping instructions available on the previous page.
• If your request has been cancelled, place a new request for service at the iPod
website: https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do to receive a new shipping
box and dispatch number. Please do not use the cancelled dispatch number as
this will cause service delays.0 -
