Free new ipod nano - If you have a 1st Gen Nano!

Hi all, how do you tell if you have a 1st gen nano? Do you email apple with serial number, then they tell you? I have 8gb nano bought in 2008, i think? Thanks for any help...

Same with me so I went & did it via Apple shop - much better as it only took a few weeks to arrive and I got to hang on to my iPod until called to collect replacement. Hope that helps

I sent mine off 2 weeks ago, and it is now on the 3rd step. Seems quite quick to me

They have a black or white front and a silver metal back, and were originally sold between September 2005 and December 2006 [and initially 2GB or 4GB, if memory serves]. If you want to be sure, you can go here and start the application process - when you put your iPod's serial number in, it will tell you if it's not eligible for replacement.

Hi pleasedelete what product replacement pending date did you have ?
I must have sent mine off around the same date. I got my received emails etc on the 4th Jan and my product replacement pending date is the 10th Jan. So hopefully should get my replacement very soon !!

mine was sent 16th jan and rang saturday total waste of time, then by mistake i deleted email from apple, have tried to reset password but it says wrong email but its the correct one apple keep sending me rubbish , does anybody have any idea how i can find out what is going on without serial number

Can you recover the deleted email ? Go into the delete box and check your tools menu to see if that option is there.

Has anyone received a new one recently ? If so what product replacement pending date did you have ?

I've been pending since the 10th Jan and I'm begining to get abit impatient now !!
